Title: Raw in New England?
Post by: hikergirl on Saturday 09 December, 2006
Hi, everyone!

I just started going raw - and I love, love, LOVE it! I feel great!

Is there anyone else in the New England area, or am I all alone here?

Yes, I am in New England in the USA. I didn't know you had a New England in Australia. Cool!

Raw Pleasure is the BEST website I can find anywhere for the raw food lifestyle. You Aussies don't mind if a Yankee hangs out with you, do you?

I am only having a little bit of trouble with the language barrier - like "rocket" is what you call arugala, and "tarmack" means dirt? or is it road? or highway? I mostly figure out what you mean from context.    ^_^

Thank you Hikergirl that's so sweet. Being from Canada (now living in Australia) i know what you mean about the language!!

You area correct on all counts:

Rocket = arugula (sp?)
Tarmack = pavement (road)
Cilantro = corriander

Just ask if you need more translations! Happy to help. Imagine... by hanging out here you learn a new language. Remember that in Australian they don't really pronounce R's (they say they do). So SUPER = SUPA! I find that quite funny. If you want to talk with an Aussie accent that's a good place to start.

Cheers,
Sheryl

Sheryl, OMG I never realised that, have been trying out a few words - you're right.  And if I do pronounce my R's I sound like my brother-in-law (he's Canadian), only not as deep.   :laugh:

I'm a born and bred Australian - Queenslander actually.  I'm off to bed now, will play with this concept tomorrrrrow.
