THANKS FOR THE WELCOME  -_-

I live in ACT.

As I said I have been having green juices and raw foods for about three months know, I can not believe how great I feel overall!!

What lead me to this was probably towards the end of last year, I started to put on a lot of weight quickly no matter what I ate or how much I exercised. Then I started feeling incredibly crappy and dog tired most of the time as well, anyways I had a blood test it picked up issues with thyroid, liver and kidneys. None of these had been there 6 months prior when I had a routine blood test.

So this lead me to my own research as I didn't get much glory for conventional medicine.

I'm feeling better and better everyday, and sometime in the future I will have a repeat blood test done.

I did just juice for about 26 days straight and am thinking I will repeat this soon as I attribute a lot of the fact I feel so much better to this.

I have been researching and reading as much as I can and I am fascinated with it all.

My kids aren't over fussed with the idea of all raw food, however they are on their own journey and maybe the youngest, who is 4, will take it on. the other three are much older. 19. almost 18 and 16.

Sometimes the best things come out of what we initially see as unfortunate circumstances don't they!! I truly think this may be one of the best things to happen to me.

I very much look forward to following along everyones journey here and learning, and hopefully giving something back along the way.

Hey your youngest has built in babysitters in the older kids! Awesome.

It's great that you had that test and have found a way to help you through. Congratulations on taking your health in your own hands.

Looking forward to reading more of your posts...

Welcome Alison

Sometimes the best things come out of what we initially see as unfortunate circumstances don't they!! I truly think this may be one of the best things to happen to me.

This has been true for me too. Generally any sort of health issue is your body letting you know that something is up. Unfortunately it took me a long time to listen. But I am grateful that I have found this way of eating and living, it has been such a blessing to every area of my life.

Have a great day!

I can relate to that Alison. When I first found RP I went through most of the threads to learn as much as I could - there is so much valuable info and discussions. I also spent hours googling 'living foods', 'fruitarianism', '80/10/10', 'hydration', etc.

I think it made transition easier, not just to eating raw, but also to the other lifestyle changes that followed.

You will be amazed with how great you feel in a week, month, 6mths. I think I feel great and then a month or so later, I think, wow, that wasn't great, but this is. And on it goes. I just can't imagine how great I will feel in another 12mths, 2 years, 10 years?

I would love to know more about your juice fast. What was yourexperience? What juices did you use? How often? Only if you feel like sharing of course.

 :ohyeah:

You are so right though I have been researching, Google, reading ect as much info and driving mates mad with bombarding them with info ;) Luckily I have family members who are keen to listen (or at least they humor me)  and my aunt has been into juices and sprouts and vegetarianism for years, she is over from SA at present so been having some good chin wags with her;)

Have a great day tomorrow xx
