1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: info from melbourne vegetarian/vegan night 4/3/07 on: Monday 05 March, 2007
Man, I have been busy.

I have just finished a 5 week intensive training in my Feldenkrais studies.  Only 1 and a half years to go!!!  Its huge, I am loving it soo much.  Its amazing the human potential this method can bring up.  I start up classes next week at the Melbourne City Baths - looking forward to that!  I am looking forward to teaching people what I have learnt.
Yep, love it awesome, I think everyone in the world should be doing it.

What else?? well, I am working on a number of Raw projects.  I have my catering business, going well, I am doing a function on Wednesday for Royal Selangor.  So its Malaysian inspired food.   Half of the menu is RAW!!  They wont notice!!!  ha!!  And like always it will be the first to go.

I made these really yummy, chocolate coated ginger lychees.  Yeah, they are pretty spesh!

I am going to start manufacturing Raw Crackers, including other seed based products.  So a lot of my time is going into that.  Sheryl is helping me out a bit - eagerly waiiting her return!!
>>> Do you eat seeds Neet?  Crackers, cookies??

I am really excited more so, to get it out there into the general public, to get them transitioning off bread products.
Providing the healthier alternative.
Flax seeds are really good for you.  Omega, omega omega!!!  Good for cleansing too!
For those Raw foodies that want to sample, they will be made using ingredients that are fresh, raw and living, I dont use irritants such as garlic, onion or spices.

Fresh vegies, and herbs.

What else can I tell you???

Peaches are good.  So are bananas.  I like oranges this week.

Oh yeah!!!

I had my wisdom teeth out on Thursday.  Fine no problems.  I had no drugs, she yanked them ouut and I was back at school that day!!!

She gave me several scripts for drugs like panadeine forte and something else, but there was no pain at all.
So, I didn't dare take anything.
I kind of wished I went to a hippie dentist instead, next time!!
In any case my teeth are all good, cavity and filling free.

I reckon the drugs people take makes the healing processes slower, not only masking the pain.

yeah, so that was an interesting case study...

RAW POWER!!  - thats what my friends call me! ha!

tell me about you.  Are you fasting till may16?
you should be called WillPower.

4  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: SBS ON Omega 3 on: Friday 09 February, 2007
yes, I saw the program...wasn't it a shocker...
I especially loved the part when the school principal thought that diet didnt effect the kids learning - well not that much, not enough to worry about!!!!  what an idiot.  Well, I shouldn't be so harsh... I guess if you don't have any direct experience of feeling better than what you live with each day... then you might say such a thing.  I think he needs a good dose of omega 3, and then see if he still feels the same way!!

I didn't see the part that you are talking about though, cos I switched it off after I saw that guy.  What did they say about linseeds???

wow, thanks for all the posts, they are great to hear.

Goji Girl: yes please send me a pm. This is what I was looking for.
Brett: Yeah, thats cool.  I like that.  Keep it coming.
Rosal: blue green manna, I havent had any experience with it, but will read up on it more... I have read a number of articles on blue green algae not really being a hygienic food.  have you heard this?
Miss long: I cant believe you are sooo sensitive to cacao... its so interesting isnt it!  you sound funny.  3am runs eh???  ha!  yeah thats cool.
karen: I really want to surf...i reckon that would be really exhilarating.
beckyji:  breastfeeding??? childbirth??? i can only imagine...
becca:  yes, the ocean is quite the cleansing cure.  and yeah, I think because its so full on, that you really need to be in the moment and pay attention, otherwise the waves dump your ass and soak ya./  it can be brutal sometimes.  depending on where you swim i guess.

Thanks for your replies.
I think we have become so confined with our intake of foods these days because of society and its limitations - in the wild we probably would rely on more things like herbs and botanicals - especially ones that make us feel good!!!!!

I had a sore tooth the other week, I popped a few cloves in my mouth and it was a great anesthetic.

alright i gotta sleep.

9  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Natural Highs on: Thursday 01 February, 2007
High all!!!  ha!

So, I am at school and we just had a lecture on Neurology, it was great.  Got me excited to think about what things we can consume which would be a natural raw high.

I know hemp seed oil effects me, i dont know how though, because THC is supposed to come about during the cooking process??

I know excercise is a huge one.  There is something called 'the joggers high'... great for anyone with depression.

What else is there.

Cacao, thats a good one.  Subtle though.
Maca...again really quite subtle.

I asked my lecturer if there was a test similar to a bloodtest to check to see what out chemical levels in our brain were... alas, it does not exist yet... they do offer blood dying offset with radiographs, but this is costly and not really something easily done like a bloodtest.

SO,  yeah, any body have any experience with anything like this??/

12  Locally RAW / Australia & New Zealand / Re: Where do I get raw foods from in Melbourne Vic1 on: Sunday 14 January, 2007
Raw fruits and veg in Melbourne???
Where do you live???

There's a whole lot places.

If you want the cheapest, don't go anywhere that has branding!!!  The vic market is the best and cheapest...  South melbourne market is ok... a bit more expensive though.

I like joes organics in heidleberg.  Joe is really nice too!  he is a character, and if you live out that way you should support him, because he really does offer a whole lot for the raw/vegan/vego organic society in melbourne.  He will throw you some freebies most of the time too!

If you are Raw...I wouldnt be buying or looking for things in packets.  The only packaged raw foods are on this website.  They rest has more than likely been processed, cooked, steamed, frozen, pasteurised, or fumigated to get in onto the shelf.  Stay away.  Fresh is best.  Or even better, make it yourself.  Piers and Sheryl sell soem great products... and are at fair prices.

It will be easier for you to be a healthy raw foodist too!  Eating fresh that is.

Discovering what is not RAW, is one of the hardest transitions when going raw.    Yep, eat a mango, or a bannana truly is the alternative.   And when your body catches up to where your mind thinks it is, it becomes one of the best things you have ever done.
The cleansing of your body from cooked foods to raw in intense.
It takes around 6 months for caffeine and other toxins to start coming out...
Imagine how your body would feel, when you continue along the raw path for longer eating even more fresher foods than before.

It won't happen overnight, but it will happen!!!

Keep it green is the key.  Start your day with a green smoothie.  a handful of spinach, or two, some bannanas, or some other sweet fruit (mango, peaches, necatrines, cherries), add some water, blend and drink!!!

Thats your first meal... it can also be a snack for whenever you feel like a snack, if you have a craving or hankering for any cooked foods.

Cravings are your bodies way of saying 'give me some calories'.  Hunger cravings are your bodies way of saying 'I am thirsty'.  So, if thats the case, have a glass of water, or piece of fruit, or a green smoothie.

A green smoothie will give you the energy you need, the nutrients and minerals your require.
Its easy too.

My favourite snack foods are FRESH dates, Tamarinds, banannas, carrot and celery chips, nectarines, and did I mention bananas???

The day I discovered dates, I wondered why and where they had been all my life?  Who was hiding this spectacularly sweet fruit from me???  I should have discovered them much earlier than the age of 24!!!

I love to shove a few raw cacao nibs in them!!!  hows that for a snack???

Stay away from dried fruits like figs, dried apricots and the like.
Stay away from nuts and seeds.
These are sometimes foods, and not foods to eat when you get a craving.  They are fats.  And not the calories your body truly desires.

Dont make the mistake of eating a dry full of fat raw foods diet.  Dont eat too much avocado, nuts, or olives.  You may think they are filling you up, but they aren't.  What you body really wants is something else altogether.  Your mind is playing tricks you!!!  Or is it??  Actually my theory is that SOCIETY IS PLAYING TRICKS ON YOU!

If you can, grow your own, even start sprouting- sprouting is cool.
Sprouts are fun, they are super good for you.
And taste so much better if you grow them yourself... its not hard.  Get yourself a sprouter jar from MACRO or Passionfoods and get sprouting.

Well, goodluck on your raw journey.

Oh by the way... Yes, I confirmed it...

If you go to INVITA next to the Organic section at the VIc Market, they will make you a RAW cake, if you special order, they will make you a RAW lasagne!!!  Hows that!!!
I havent tried it yet, but if you would all like to meet and have a lasagne one day, we could all be the judge of that!!!!!!!!

xxxxxpaul

p.s. I am working on creating some RAW products for everyone.  I am also working on a RAW cafe for everyone too.  I know some of the Raw recipes can be quite time consuming and not everyone has the time or patience to make them...
I am working to make it easy for everyone to be RAW!!!
ok...
