Hi Anna,
Great to hear from you.
Yes, well, the banana incident really mucked up everything didnt it! ah well... it happens.
Imagine if there were no bananas! someone told me that bananas, because they are being grown using the bananas that mature with no black seeds, slowly it will make for harder reproduction in the years to come. A figure was dropped of about 50 years, before supply runs dry! HEY, I don't know how much of that is true, because as I have learnt from my own experience is that you should not believe everything people tell you, you should listen to yourself and what your body is telling you instead. Use you head, heart and stomach!
When I hear things like that, I imagine a world without bananas and think what I would eat otherwise, as bananas are definately a main staple for me. But thats cool, there is always options, we are very lucky living where we live.
I made do this Winter on apples, pears, oranges, carrots, spinach, celery, SPROUTS, some young Thai coconuts, some avo's, some fresh medjool dates, and god, I discovered Piers and Sheryls Raw Cacao nibs - jeeze louise, I got crazy there for a minute!!! What else do I eat??? Flax seeds, WOBOK!! I love Wombok, Cauliflour, Sunflower seeds, brocolli, capsicums and tomatoes.
I eat fruit all day long until dinner - when I would have a vegie meal.
yeah, But now that its mango season, who cares about bananas!! I bought a box of mangoes the other day (22), for much cheaper than 2kilo of bananas! Its time to devour them!!!!!!!!! yummo!
What else can I tell you??
Well, I have been RAW for

not that long 3-4 years. I lived in NYC and worked for David Norman at Bonobos restaurant, where he and Dianna (partner) taught me all about Raw and Living foods. When I returned to Melbourne, I took it on, head on. I was vegan for a long time before then. I stupidly ate a high fat raw food diet. Didn't know what I was doing until I was guided through with Frederic Patenaude's help. He is a cool guy...he tells it how it is! Now I eat a low fat, high nutrient LIVING FOODS diet. Hey, occassionally I eat nuts and dried fruits, but less and less!! I find the hardest thing about being RAW is not being able to afford to eat all the food I want!!! Uno, one thing they should mention in books is how expensive this diet is! BULLLLLLLLLLLL, its not that far off!!! rubbish!!! I was a poor and struggling whatever I was for a number of years... living in Tokyo and New York, not the cheapest of places to live - I think my weekly shopping budget was around $50, some weeks $40... If you want to do Raw and properly you need around $70-$200 I reckon! Unless of course you grow your own. I have a fantastic nanna who grows the most amazing vegies and fruits. I just discovered a couple of years ago that she in fact has Bio-dynamic produce! Something which is now considered 'god'like'. Planting according the moon cycles etc... gee my nanna is clever, who would have thought!!! I grow my own sprouts!
But I live in the CBD, so no vegie patches for me!!!
One day I aspire to live in FNQ! the most beautiful place in the world!
Until then, I live here in Melbourne, one of the best cities in the world!
I have a catering business, specialising in fresh, healthy foods (raw, living and any other diet you want to have)! One thing I have discovered through my business is that you can't and nor should you tell anyone else what to eat. But if you can keep a secret, it's always the Raw and Living Food dishes that are the first to go!!!!
I dislike when people ask for hot food!!! but uno, I offer it because I want to educate people at the same time. Those people with appauling eating habits, might pick up something new, and become ever so slightly more healthy!!! and hopefully continue further.
I remember I once did a function where one patron had never eaten a medjool date before. He was really hesitant at first to try one, I talked to him about it, and he was sufficiently satisfied it would not kill him... he tased it, loved it, went back for another, and another, invited his friends over to try these things out, and ended up finished them all in a matter of a couple of minutes!!! About 20 in total!!! HA!! love it!
I am writing a book. Suprise Suprise its all about RAW Food and Lifestyle. It should be out sometime next year!
I have enlisted the help of some amazing local talent, so it promises to look good.
Speaking of books, my friend passed onto me a book written by leslie and susannah kenton in the 70''s about Raw food. oh man - its priceless, some excellent pictures, recipes, fashion and food presentation!!!!
I also have a fashion label. It is a streetwear label for young folk. Its cool.
I am studying to be a Feldenkrais practitioner. I currently teach classes to the public, and in 2 years I will be certified to practice hands on (I can't wait)! If you are wandering what Feldenkrais is, just be told that its about as important to me as RAW food. Its all about awareness. Having greater awareness of how you function in the world through movement. As movement is the foreground to thought! Sound interesting?? Come to one of my classes.
I am wanting to start a cafe. All RAW... but its all in the planning stages. I don''t think its the right time yet.
What do you think??
I have done a few temporary food stalls at major events like Big Day Out, Street Festivals etc.... they went well enough, but at the end of the day, the public are still quite??? safe? Is that the word I am looking for?? Un-adventurous, unwilling to try new things??? At the moment the sums dont add up... restaurants and cafes make 600% mark up on alcohol and I think its about a 700% mark up on coffee... 2 things I wont be offering!
Organic food is expensive already without putting a premium on it!!! Are the public ready for RAW???
hmmm..
I think I should stop writing now...
you may be bored.
hey bannana and I guess now everyboody else has read this, see ya all later! have a good day
