PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Miscarriage

hello beautiful people, with great heaviness I have to tell you that on Saturday 10th March, I started to bleed and 3 days later...lost my baby...I have been trying to deal with the loss, it is so hard. What doesnt help are those who know I was on raw...saying that it is because of eating raw...that I lost my baby...so it is my own fault!! how insensitive! I am not even 100% raw...I sitll eat some small amounts of cooked and processed foods...what is their problem?...cant they have some compassion on a grieveing mother?
Anyhow...sorry...just venting...it has been so hard.
I have noticed how there are childrens books about death, dying, sickness, disabilities, birth...etc...explained simply and sensitively...but none about miscarriage, as if they are a shamed of something that is so painfully common. During my grief this week, I had no idea how to tell my young children that mummy no longer had a baby inside her tummy...so I wrote a book, a short story, Based on my own personal experience and emotions...written from a young childs point of view. I was wanting to know if some of you would proof read it and give me honest feedback....that is if it is ok to ask that here...just let me know if I shouldnt be posting this...thankyou
Just email me and i will email you the story
thankyou with all my heart.

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: What Does Your Raw New Year Look Like???

Hey Sheryl...they are my two goals too!!...great minds think alike! I am also doing the Beginners Raw Challenge starting from today...working myself up to 100% raw, rather than beating myself up when I have something cooked...I realize it is quite hard...it you plan on going 100%raw straight away, coming from a 80% cooked lifestyle. Also keeping my journal. and taking a pic every month to track my transformation...I hate pics...but only because I hate what I look like...oh did I mention also learning to love myself!!...and being more happy to my family...trying not to yell so much.
Happy New year with many raw adventures and enlightenment!!

This is the bestest green smoothie I have ever tasted...and I made it!!!!
I actually made it for my husband who has a flu at the moment.
Take a really large handful of baby spinnach and snowpea sprouts and blend with enough water then add 2 frozen bananas, and a frozen mango....blend then add the juice of two oranges, 20 green grapes and a few sprigs of fresh mint and you have HEAVEN
serve with ice...
This is not to die for...but to LIVE for!!

Go RAW! The Testimonial Section! / RAW Journals - Your RAW Experiences / Beginners RAW New year Challenge
|
on: Sunday 31 December, 2006

Hello Beautiful people,
When starting out on Raw it can be hard to go 100% raw/vegan straight away, I have found this out myself, I begin the day totally raw do good till about lunch time, then come dinner time, have no idea what to prepare for the family, so sit down to a healthy cooked meal...then I feel hopeless,t hinking I have failed and I punish myself mentally...this does not need to be the case, becasue the cooked food I prepare is still healthy...just not the VERY BEST, and my body cannot use 100% of it...like raw foods.
So I decided today how to work myself and the family up to 100% raw/vegan...this challenge is for all of you starting out, or trying to get to 100% raw, we can work together, share ideas, motivate eachother, and not feel bad if we have a cooked meal, or something non raw...small and steady steps!
The challenge is to have a relativly raw breakfast, raw lunch and a healthy cooked meal for dinner...so your day might look like this...
Breakfast: banana/mango smoothie made with low fat soy milk or green smoothie Morning tea: handful of nuts, some fresh fruit Lunch: Big bowl of salad and more fruit Afternoon tea: some crackers maybe...with homemade avo dip Dinner: Steamed vegies with a tiny bit of meat if you feel the need...whatever as long as it is healthy. Dessert: Raw fruit ice cream
We can do this together till the end of January, and see how we go. So starting tomorrow I will begin my new goal.
We dont need to beat ourselves up and feel weak and hopeless because we cant be raw straight away...small yet steady steps...I like what Rawgreengoddess said somewhere...along the lines of...you dont fail if you keep trying...your taking steps to reach your goal.
Is that what you said Neet?...I cant find your quote...read it somewhere!
So who is with me?
Love you guys

FAQ - Check Here for the most common Answers! / Raw Food FAQ / Re: How To Choose A Durian
|
on: Friday 29 December, 2006
|
|
Yesterday I bought my first Durian...I had really high expectations...... I bought it from a asain shop for $3.99 kilo. I cut it open...eager to taster the king of fruits and be blown away as so many people say their experience has been. As I cut it open a strange smell whoffed out at me...it smelled like banana and onions....what the!!? As I cut it in half, I had strong doubts about eating it....the pods were banana yellow and oozed something that looked like mashed banana...it smelled so strong of banana onions...the pods looked like yellow kidneys with the same texture....ewwwwww.
I hestitantly tasted...and wow what a bow away I got...it was disgusting...I couldnt bear to eat it, so I threw it to the pine forrest...where I was sleeping outdoors in the open....(a Durianrider favourite)
Did I have a bad durian...or do they actually taste like banana onions???
By the way...We loved sleeping out in the open, we just had our blankets and pillows...we drove to Victor Harbour and picked a quiet little gum tree and pine forrest....hmmm blisss, amazing how when you have the basics your body just goes with nature...we had no light source...so we went to bed with the stars as dark night fell, and awoke with the music of birds and early morning freshness....My husband and I did this with three children 6, 3, and 1...a great experience! My husband has 3 weeks holiday...so we will be doing this again next week, any raw foodies want to join us for a couple of nights out doors?
