You too lovely! And you know, sometime when we are detoxing the best thing is rest. If you are feeling tired and not motivated perhaps a gentle walk would help? You might find yourself surprised at how much energy you have and run! Or you might just see something so beautiful that it will be a balm for your soul and therefore body.

Hugs right back atcha!

Tossed and turned all night again last night. Not sure why but this morning was so adrenal that I could hardly breathe. So I'm chilling today! Relaxing... it's quite nice.

I had a look at all of the foods in my kitchen and when absolutely nothing appealed I went to the local fruit shop and rockies! Tongue lolling from my mouth I grabbed a couple and blended one up upon my triumphant return home! Delish. Must have been just what I needed because my adrenals have slowed down quite a bit.

I had a handful of cherries later and am now having 1litre of green juice:

1/4 large bunch of celery. (just didn't want so much today)
1.5 looooong cucumbers
1 granny smith
1/2 lemon.

Nice and simple does the trick.

GS are great stuff, but not everybody klikes them, I do not, I prefer to realy chew on teh green stuff to able to sink my teeth into lettuce or spinach and feel the juices in my mouth ( I am still on the food topic  laugh )

Gabriel Cousens (raw food author) talks about the benefits of chewing food as opposed to drinking it. Apparently when we chew food our body releases seratonin and other things to make us happy! Victoria Boutenko (another author) talks of green smoothies and the benefits to many who have had them. I like em both.

But I'm not fond of the taste of many greens and GS is a way I can have them and enjoy them. Each to their own I say!

You can also use young coconut water. Delish! Make them sweet or watered down. I went to a talk given by Sergei Boutenko once and was amazed at how people loved his GS. Why was I amazed? Because it had a lot more water in it than I ever used. Mine were always so think I could spoon them... more of a pudding I guess!

Hahahaa to the water recycling!

Yes that would do it. Or you could juice the celery as well if you wanted it a little stronger in salt.

Hello IR! Yes the Green smoothies (aka GS) are delish! Start with a very very small handful of greens. Then add juice or water, blend and then add your fruit. I started out with lots of bananas because they stop the drink from separating so much but I don't mind now. You'll be surprised!

You are really enjoying your dried nuts and fruit right now yes? I would suggest starting out with just a very small handful of each. I used to have a small container of them too. For the first month though, you could have bigger serves. Then start cutting it down.

I used to use nuts and dried fruit at night as a snack as that was when I craved all the junk! So the sugar and fats from the nuts etc really helped get me through that. I started out with a bowl (breakfast bowl) of mixed fruit and nuts and in the end I would have just four almonds and four dates or a teeny amount of sultanas.

As much fresh food as you can. High water content food will have you feeling amazing as you become hydrated! You might find that your water consumption increases too for awhile.

Welcome 'into raw'. How are you?

There are a lot of different viewpoints here. Rudy has said that he is not into raw and that's fine! He is finding his own path. A few well known raw foodists do recommend some vegetables be steamed if you have bowel or digestive issues as a step towards a 100% raw food diet. A lot also recommend a lower ratio of low GI fruits such as apples.

There are a lot of people out there though who do very well on a raw food diet that includes some fruit. A lot of fruit these days is highly hybridised and can apparently lead to problems if not balanced properly.

If I were you I would keep the dried fruit to a minimum. Have it and enjoy it but not loads of it. Greens are vitally important on a raw food diet. You can make green smoothies (there is a search function in the top left corner of this screen to search this out) to get extra greens in. You can start out with mild greens such as baby spinach and work your way up from there to other things like dandelion and kale etc.

Lots of fresh salads are important too.

When I first went raw I did a lot of gourmet raw food which really helped me transition, raw cheeze cakes, lasagne's, pizzas, breads, crackers etc. But I am still not 100% raw and just slowly working my way forward!

A lot of the time when people first go raw they find they need massive quantities of food. I was eating my salads from a fruit bowl! It was huge... a whole cos lettuce, 5-10 tomatoes.... etc! Now I have a normal plate and feel completely satisfied most of the time. I think this is because the body needs time to adjust and rebuild. Extra energy to clean out.

Please don't limit yourself. Enjoy your food. never feel bad about what you eat ok?! That's probably the biggest piece of advice I can personally offer.

Alissa Cohen recommends giving yourself a month on 100% raw eating whatever you like. Then start to watch the amounts of nuts you are eating. I agree with this wholeheartedly.

Experiment and ask questions. Rudy has a lot of knowledge so take what you can. But if it's not sitting well with you then someone else here's advice will. There are so many of us here who want to help... At the moment I am doing the lower sugared fruits because my adrenals don't like the highly sweet stuff.

There are so many different ways to do raw. Finding your own way can be tricky but you can make it fun. I started out with the mindset Cooked=Not Good, Raw=Good. That helped me.

Best wishes!

With the additional variety - my ability to enjoy raw foods increases. ((())) fang

That's what it's all about ultimately, for me anyhow. Doing what you enjoy at the time. Wonderful news Fang!

Also, Karen was speaking of some people's difficulties in turning over to a raw diet. She said that the difficulties are not about the food. That's paraphrased...

I know plenty of guys who use a little cosmetic here and there. Mainly eyelash tinting for red heads and blonds and a little cover up when needed.

What is priori coffee berry? I've never heard of it... also, I was given, a few years back, microfibre cloths for use on the face. They are brilliant! I feel so clean after using.

What do you think Neet?

Hey Iv! Great question.

I am so grateful for my rawness. I am well aware of my achievments when I sit and think about them, however I do find it easy to get frustrated with where I am 'not yet' if you know what I mean!

I'm happier... much happier! No need to go into my background again.
Physically lot lighter... not a butter ball anymore!
My hair is curly now, not straight and lank.
I'm on my way to being fit and am probably the fittest I've ever been
I sleep better
My nails are much nicer
My acne is gone
Spiritually I'm more aware
I'm more in control of my emotions (but still a drama queen!)
No more alcohol, a spontaneous thing
I'm nicer

Wonderful!
