Major frustration hey Sam? But Wow, what a lot you have done in a couple of months. I notice digestion was not mentioned. Even if you are taking in all the right foods, if your system is not absorbing the healthy nutrients, then you will not feel as healthy as you would like to. I know this from experience, I eat well but the natural doctor I visit says for the moment I still need some help in the form of digestive enzymes & flora for the stomach etc. Also gave up smoking and cut back on alcohol & caffeine. For some of us that have had more years on the planet and abused our bodies for decades longer, things take time. Maybe concentrate on strengthening your digestive system and slowly you will feel and look better. I am still improving after 3 years on fresh foods. joybell "when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect"

Hey Steve, at least it sounds like you are keeping a sense of humour about it all Bring the shrink and the dietician to one of our potlucks, all our raw energy will blow their minds! Where are you by the way, haven't seen you at a potluck for a while. Are you in Sydney? I have close friends with experience of binge eating = junk food followed by self loathing followed by vomiting. Some 'qualified' people are hugely ignorant. joybell "when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect"

In Summer we usually have the Sunday get togethers but in winter Gay & Denis kindly offer their place in Randwick and we do Saturday night dinners. Still a long drive from Camden but I come from Wentworthville past Parramatta and it takes me about an hour some days. I feel it's worth the once a month drive - the food is always fabulous, the people are great and we all have SO much to talk about! Simon from Campbelltown comes to the potlucks occasionally but otherwise I don't know anyone down that way. One of these days we will have to try and have a picnic down that way! joybell "when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect"

Hi Annie - Yes! Sydney potlucks every month. Next one this Sunday 2nd March in Centennial Park. Sorry I didn't get back to you before but the threads move on so quickly I didn't see your question till now. Rawgasm has given you the web address for our potlucks and they are usually around the end of month. If you can make it on Sunday we will be near the duckpond, Lachlan reserve Centennial park at 12. RAW sign written on a board so you can find us. We will be the healthy non-barbecue crowd, lol ! joybell "choose to live a life that matters"

Hello Lou - it was very inspiring reading your story, thank you for sharing. My daughter suffered from depression about 15 years ago. If I knew then what I know now.................. to me, diet plays a HUGE part in wellbeing and I am sure the raw diet helps to return all of us to a healthy physical, mental & emotional state. I feel a lot calmer and happier and even if I say so myself - I LOOK FANTASTIC!! lol joybell :choose to live a life that matters"

Welcome and congrats Annie P! 48 days is huge. Hippocrates is what started me on raw. I had no idea such a thing existed till I went to them - it changed my life. If you have already been raw though, you would know all the basics already. Hippocrates does a detox and then introduces the basic fruits & vegetable salads. Unless they run other programmes now, check it out. "when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect" joybell

Congratulations Sam on a huge achievement! The raw journey is an eye and mind opener extraordinaire...... Hey Kim, I know I don't post often but am trying - just not enough hours in the day. A half hour on the raw pleasure forums turns to one hour and then just another half hour and just.. I am never hungry, people around me are green with envy at my new figure, my health and my ability to eat all day long without putting on weight. Their choices are not mine. Great to meet you on Sunday at our potluck Love Spirit! Congrats on doing so many days so far, it takes such determination. More than I have. But I agree with Rudolf saying 'load up with nutrients before detox". Just makes more sense to me. Um, about the food cravings everyone is different obviously but I don't think one detox is going to take away all food cravings. We are in a society that surrounds us with stimuli - sight & smell mainly for me. They frequently have morning teas at work and the smell of sausage rolls & tomato sauce still goes to that little place in my brain that says Yummo! In the beginning of my raw journey I could not resist but now, even though the smell appeals, the link has been formed in my brain that says "smells good - tastes bad, starchy, doughy, heavy dry - makes tummy uncomfortable - don't want it". Go easy on yourself and don't torture yourself. Being RAW is a pleasure, a choice, not a torment. "choose to live a life that matters" joybell

don't fret about it, you are doing more than the average person out there! If you go slightly off course, just start again tomorrow and the next day.......... Results do not happen immediately, they creep up on you with consistent, persistent effort. I had at least a year of ups and downs before I felt really good. Patience, love yourself for doing all you can at any given moment. joybell "choose to live a life that matters"

Good Luck with the 80-10-10 Patricia! I stuck to it completely for about a week but am back to eating without measuring again. Still happy and healthy though. My partner lives in Launceston! When he's home which isn't often 'cos of his job. I visited there once and now that I know you're there will look you up next time I come down? joybell "choose to live a life that matters"

Today, 5 sweet white nectarines sliced with pulp of 10 passionfruit and chopped chocolate mint - Yum! Morning snack - handful of green peas (good for my iron intake I think) then later 2 plums Lunch - mixed together one HUGE diced mango, LONG cucumber sliced & diced creamy avocado - YUMMO! No dressing or seasonings needed. Needed to lick bowl but couldn't get head into it....... Supper - salad with bok choy, red capsicum, corn kernels, roma tomatoes and herbs from garden; basil, chives, mint and a bit of olive oil - refreshingly yummy. The colours, flavours, tastes of raw are so ADDICTIVE. Much nicer than the cigarettes & alcohol I used to enjoy.... joybell "choose to live a life that matters"

hello Erthmum - I had 2 skin tags that were really irritating, one behind my ear and one on my collarbone. Both have completely disappeared. I ordered Raspex from America, it's a raspberry skin cream and there is information on the net if you look it up. I rubbed it consistently (4-6 weeks) on the tags, they got irritated, formed little scabs, kept going, more irritation till gradually they shrunk and finally dropped off. A friend's husband had a mole on his wrist, again rubbed it on for a few weeks and again, it dropped off after forming a scab. My manager at work has been using it for about 8 months now to shrink a skin cancer right next to her eye, all that is left is a slight pink mark. Side effect: I did try this on a red blemish on my leg and that did NOT work, in fact I ended up with eczema! So all I can say is that it seems to work with raised lumps; skin tags, moles and raised skin cancers but does not work on smooth skin. Has anyone else on the forum tried raspberry cream? joybell " choose to live a life that matters"

Menopause is something I am sure will be mild if I continue to eat as much raw as possible. But I do take maca powder regularly. There is lots of information on this and especially for the reproductive organs. There should be a couple of threads on it here too. I use the powder not the capsules, it's great for libido too! joybell "choose to live a life that matters"
