I havn't quite used this recipe (Yet bought the ingredients on the weekend) BUT bought my son organic toothpaste & used it. Thought you were just being funny when you said conventional toothpaste being like bubble bath & now I now what you mean!!! Wont be going back to bubblebath toothpaste again!! Especially for my babies/children...

Can anyone point me in the right direction for things such as alternative, natural remedies/medication for people fighting cancer??? Not for any of us just for someone else that I know.
I dont feel like I have enough 'convincing' evidence if you know what I mean.
Oh & mostly referring to vege juices but I know your an intellegient bunch & would know more then me anyway.

Online resources & Books would be great.

these are great!! GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!
Well after waiting as long as we have we have finally done the blood test thingy & the ultrasound to see how old the baby is blah blah blah.. All for formalities to try get into the birthing centre...
Our baby is 15wks old & Due on Christmas Day... 25 weeks to go or thereabouts...
They've suggested the 18-19week scan to see 'if everything is going well' which I am feeling a bit iffy about.. I dont think we'll do it... we'll see... This baby has a heart beat so thats a relief.

Well.. Anyhow.. I have a birth story... Its not mine but its cool.
A friend went into labour & laboured mostly at home. Then she decided yes its time to go to the hospital. So they are sitting at the last set of traffic lights when she says 'its heads out' LOL... she gave birth to a beautiful healthy little girl in the car about 2mins from the birthing centre.. hehe no stitches & no tears scratches etc.. all natural..
She did well..

Maybe I can go park in the car somewhere 'on the way to the hospital' ROFL

8  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Re: Home Birth Stories... on: Friday 15 June, 2007
Thanks for that Michelle I'm about to check out the link.
I was reading more birth stories online & some of them were shocking!! The labouring mother may as well have been a sheep giving birth in an abotoire (sp?) the animal slaughter house... All whilst at the birthing centre.
But there seemed to be a common link between traumatic births & traumatic first year as mother/baby..
DH & I had a plan in place with our first child that if they tried to bully me into anything that we didn't want or agree upon he would be the one to step & say back off. Mostly for the immunisation part. He Thankfully didn't have to. We had a great birth.
My other concerns are the DOCS. Although the law states the Dept are not to interfere I am well aware of the lies & manipulations that can & do occur in that area & am not willing to put ourselves in the light of the Dept. When this baby is born we will still be under an order so the Dept will still be doing visits. & of course the Drs & 'experts' will say that unassisted/homebirths are dangerous blah blah blah..
Thanks for sharing your stories with me. Hope I can say in the future My first 2 were born in hospital/birth centre & my other 8 were all home births.. lol
Oh.. & the Maternity Payment has already been designated elsewhere. Cant use it.
Im in North Brisbane btw... Still 6mths to wait but still early enough to plan ahead... Homebirths is DEFINTELY the way to go.. but probly not for us this year Sad

Dani your first labour sounds purely awful. Nicking off with your baby. How rude... Though your other two sound good.
Dragonfly_Emi your first birth sounds like what I will have to have this time... Birthing Centre. Hope they respect my wishes!!
Michelle I do wonder how it was that women went from birthing at home in a natural environment to birthing in an institution.. Doesn't make sense to me...  At least when your at home you are in your own natural environment.
One day I hope to have a home birth... Had a crazy thought yesterday.. Get trained as a midwife  ohyeah a home birthing type midwife that is... Then I will know better what Im doing & I can give birth myself at home with DH & I dont know bout the kids yet.. lol
Thanks for sharing..
Off to read the links...

10  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Re: Sling Help on: Tuesday 12 June, 2007
Its all good. Ive found a website that shows you how to tie etc using a long piece of material... Just got to figure out how to do it all..
11  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Sling Help on: Tuesday 12 June, 2007
I know many of you wonderful mothers rave on bout slings...
What do you use? What do you recommend?

I want one that is comfy & seems well balanced, that I can feed without exposing myself & that I can feed without 'having' to hold bubs (if you know what I mean) or can hold bubs with one hand (I have a toddler still)...
Im actually not sure that its going to be the 'right' thing for bub & me. When DS was 2weeks old I had him in a baby carrier on my front & it was awful carrying him. So heavy on my back so perhaps it was the wrong type of carrier. He was so heavy 7pound15ounces at birth so not THAT heavy...

Also... Where do you get them from? & how much?? Dont have much cash for one so might have to get one from Ebay or something... maybe...

Thanks in Advance..
12  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Home Birth Stories... on: Tuesday 12 June, 2007
First we are all well & expecting our 2nd... Which brings me to this threads topic... ((Not Raw related so delete if not appropriate - I wont be offended)) I know some of you are home birthers & even midwives...

After having a fantastic first birth with DS I'd like to give birth at home. Checked into it to discover that it costs $2500-$4500... Something that DH & I just cant even begin to afford... So it looks like we will just have to give birth in the birthing centre (provided we can get in)...

But I checked out some websites complete with pictures & there was the MOST AMAZING mums giving birth!! A lady with all kids watching (this was number 5) she gave birth in a spa type thingy ALL BY HERSELF!!! No one even touched her.. Not even the midwives... I mean come on!! How awesome was that... So inspirational...

So whats your experience? Why wont you give birth at hospital & why didn't you give birth in hospital?? I dont want to give birth in hospital. I want to give birth at home. I know there wont be any complications & that we will have a smoother birth then the first time (Faith)...

Hopefully my next load of children after this one can all be born at home without interferrance from the 'experts'...

14  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Re: Feeding on demand? Or by schedule? on: Tuesday 12 June, 2007
We're all great. DS is now a Vegetarian, DH is transitioning back to RawVegan & Im pregnant & eating meat  uhuh
But just had this thought... My next baby (Due Dec) might not be as 'scheduled' as my DS was... This baby might want feeds every 2 hours  Sad  shrug Im sure Ill be alright though...
