Oh that blended soup was yummy!  I had some tomatoes that were super ripe and wondered what to do with them, then the light bulb went off.  I’m definitely making more soups - way less chopping and chewing.

I got sucked into pleasure eating tonight.  Hubby and I were out to see a movie but we missed the early show because of traffic.  We bought some books and hung out at a sushi joint for a couple of hours to catch a later show.  I wasn’t even hungry so I could have just had tea.  Oh the road is paved with good intentions.  We went to a cheap seats theatre and saw Flushed Away.  What a brilliant flick, the animation was fab!  I’ve already seen nine movies at the theatre this year; it’s a good winter activity.

Cheers,
VeggieCure

I haven’t used my juicer for ages so it was a treat to have fresh juice today.  No coffee for three days - yay!  I’m reading Frederic’s Raw Secrets for the second time.  I like what he says about bad habits.  It doesn’t matter how many good habits you have if you don’t (eventually) give up the bad ones, great results won’t be achieved.  I need to heed that advice!

Oh I’ve been bad bad bad.  I was getting cabin fever and feeling lonely so my girlfriend and I headed out to the mountains.  Not only was cooked food consumed but red wine and beer too. <sigh> Cooked food is kind of tasteless now… I think I eat more to feel satisfied.  I feel burnt out and bummed out.  Oh well, I’m springing back into action (slowly) and putting that behind me (a bump on the road).

PEACE BE THE JOURNEY…

Wow, Freedom’s recipe for Smushy Corn Dip is fabulous!  Thanks Freedom!  You have a really great blog and I love the pictures of your raw creations!  I’m such a bohemian.  My husband is away on business again this week so when I made the corn dip I ate it out of my food processor.  I have to laugh at myself sometimes.

Joss-

Yes it’s interesting being raw in Canada during the winter.  A couple of times I just couldn’t bring myself to eat cold veggies so I chopped them up and poured hot miso (not raw I know) over them for a “soup”.  But hey, Frederick P. does it well (if he’s still living in Canada, I haven’t checked out his site in ages).

Yes I am still doing the coffee.  I don’t feel addicted though, it’s just a pleasure I’m not ready to give up.  I’m not fond of black chai tea so that wouldn’t work.  I am really enjoying my Rooibos tea though, so that will be the replacement when I cut the apron strings.

Stay well,
VeggieCure

Hubby got home yesterday afternoon.  Last night we went to see a flick (Stranger Than Fiction - very good) and the popcorn smelled soooooo good but I wasn’t tempted to eat any.  A girlfriend and I went to the movies last Tuesday (Little Children - also really good) and I was starving because I’d missed dinner but the popcorn smell didn’t phase me.  Weird eh?  Popcorn is my favorite junk food.  I do miss crunchy stuff.  I am going to attempt cracker creations this weekend.

"One of the reasons for absence of period given in the book I was reading was "too much raw food"."

That would be the best thing that could ever happen to me - I'm staying raw for sure!!!!

Lea, I enjoy following your journey - you're great inspiration!!!

FARE TODAY
Greens+, iron
salad> cukes, celery, corn, tomato, red pepper, olives
dressing> olive oil, lemon, garlic, mint, nama shoyu, maple syrup (I must remember to use dates as a sweetener)
coffee w/cream and honey (tsk tsk)

There is a new yoga studio two blocks from my home.  I purchased an introductory 8-week pass for $99.  My goal is to attend three times a week.  If I paid the drop-in rate for 24 classes it would cost $336.

Cheers,
VeggieCure
