Thanks Sheryl and Jen,
I will keep an eye on the forum.
In the meantime I will practise my "un-cooking" Wink

Hi Everyone,
I live near the Gold Coast and I was wondering what rawfood get togethers are there in this area and when are they on?
and/or how many Raw Pleasure members live in my area?
thanks
Loretta.

What GORGEOUS little mushrooms!
You all have such great ideas.
My daughter had a wonderful day with her raw cacao. (just quietly....I think she's addicted Wink )
But what an awesome food to be addicted to!
We had loads of fruit here today and had a terrific raw lasagne. I would have taken photos, but it was all eaten within mintues of being made and way before we thought of getting the camera.
Thanks RGG, my daughter is a true inspiration. With all the chocs and lollies she's been exposed to this week, she still hasn't fallen back into cooked foods. The kids at school have made it a "competition" between themselves to see who can make her eat junk. (kind of like getting an English Beefeater to smile outside Buckingham Palace)
But she won't, even at 11yo she has one of the strongest minds and strength of character than anyone I know.
I am one very lucky mum Wink

The sun was beautiful today!
6  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / What DO You Get a Rawfoodist for Easter? on: Saturday 07 April, 2007
Hi Guys,
This year I was faced with buying something special for Easter for my 11yo daughter who is now 100% raw.
Thank heavens for raw cocao and Byron Bay raw honey is what I say!
Apart from the other 'little things' my daughter wanted for Easter, it's nice to be able to give her something yummy too.
I am just wondering though....what else does everyone else buy for their raw friends and loved ones at Easter?
Have a Happy Easter Smiley
Loretta.

This is what we've been eating THIS week Wink
All these wonderful veges are fully organic and grown in my parent's garden.
(the tamarilos were for dessert Wink )
8  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Looking For Some OLD books... on: Saturday 07 April, 2007
I don't know of a book about a rural doctor who did diet experiments on dying patients, but I do know of a man who lives at Boonah who specialized in patients with terminal cancer and other terminal diseases.

Also, the only book I know about power weighlifting (I think) is Stephen Arlin's Rawpower.

Hope this helps Smiley

9  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Edible Wild Foods in Australia on: Friday 06 April, 2007

I still haven't found a concise book on wild edible foods here in the Gold Coast area of SEQ.
Sheryl; you're right, there are some good field guides here in Oz, but sadly none I've been able to find for my local area.
So far we have been able to identify foods from national bushfood guides- but things like Pedersen Pea Vine and the other unique wildgreens here are largely left unidentified in these sources.
Mind you, we are certainly making the most of the foods we do know about; like the HUGE lillipilli which is boasting an "all you can eat" crop size this year Wink
cheers
Loretta.

Thanks for your reply Tiphareth,
I would love to hear the titles of the books when you have the opportunity to post them.
You sound like you're very experienced with your wild foods  Smiley
cheers

The pumpkin is a 6th generation organic jap pumpkin grown here on our property.
The highly fertile, volcanic black soil makes the colour very deep and I should imagine very nutritious.
The crop has had lots of water, so it's very juicy too.
I'm only new to getting back into raw, but after this week I'm very glad I did  cheesy

What a heap of fun this must have been. I bet it would have felt nice getting home and relaxing after a nice warm shower!
You know...this is tempting enough to put on You Tube Wink

Mine would have to be the HUGE juicy pineapples we bought from Jimboomba, and the raw pumpkin spaghetti with basil and cherry tomatoes Smiley
Now that I'm thinking of yummy things....I really do need to go back to the Gold Coast and get some scrumptious blueberries!

Hi Dani,
I really don't know. I do know that they do alot of these carving in Bali etc. What talented people they are.
I think it's something I would would rather sink my teeth into than a carving tool Wink
Here are a few funny fruity pics to go with the clever ones you posted.
cheers
Loretta.
