2  FAQ - Check Here for the most common Answers! / Raw Food FAQ / Re: Newbie lists of really raw nuts & organic olives on: Wednesday 09 April, 2008
IE...yes the olives are organic at warwick farm markets and the processed ones are raw but soaked in the salt brine with added herbs.

I was talking to another stall holder at the markets a few years ago that sold the best olive oil and although they weren't registered as organic they told me that most olives you buy in oz will be organic because we don't have to spray for the bugs that they have in overseas olive farms.  Not sure how true this is but they were genuine people and another fruit seller that lived near them confirmed a few things they told me.

Warwick Farm, farmer's markets are on every Saturday morning and they have delicious raw organic olives, a tad salty but they are soooo good.  The last few weeks they have also had boxes of fresh black and green olives for any one who wants to cure their own.

Hi Greenmum, I read a little hint a while ago, if you don't have a juicer that will do wheatgrass then just blend the wheatgrass into your smoothies like you would any other green and you don't get that really strong taste that some people can't tolerate.  Hope this helps.  Your doing really well with your raw journey.

The other thing they said about strawberries, was that there is also chemicals on them that are banned from being used on strawberries.  But nobody seems to want to do anything about it.

Canberra has one of the best organic apple orchards ever with loads of heirloom varieties that are delicious.  I have often driven to Canberra from Sydney just to buy those apples, unfortunately the last couple of years of have missed the short season that should be starting soon.
11  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Goji Leaves on: Sunday 20 January, 2008
LOL Shannon

Miss Giggles thanks for that, the first ones I bought didn't have much taste, bought some more this week for a friend and the leaves were really bitter....hope she likes them.

There was some little shoots on the sides so I took them off and planted them to see if I could get a little bush growing just for the leaves....not sure if they will fruit in oz climate.
12  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Goji Leaves on: Saturday 19 January, 2008
Has anybody tried eating goji leaves or know anything about them.  I have bought some from the asian stand at the farmer's market.  The lady told me they were really good for you.  They come as small branches straight from the tree and she said if I strip the leaves off and put the branch in a pot of soil and leave it standing in water that it will keep getting new leaves.  The leaves are quite tender, not much flavour but fine tossed in a salad or smoothie.

Just wondered if anybody knows anything about them as I thought you could only eat the berries.

Hi have had the same thing happen with the tnt guys that have delivered my rp parcels.  They ring up to see if I am home first and you can tell by their voices that they are wondering what I have ordered from a company called' 'raw pleasurevery time the guy comes to the door he asked in a hopeful voice what is in the parcels, even when the vitamix came in the vitamix box with pictures all over it....of course I said it's a vitamix...darr.... and raw food.  Then he seemed a tad dissapointed that it wasn't something more exciting. I chuckle for ages afterwards at the look on their faces.  Next time I'm going to ask him what he thinks it is... rofl
