61  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Re: Quick weight loss on: Sunday 30 April, 2006
I have been looking up some green recipes M.G! Although I've been trying to work with what is in the house...AND....we can't find any cheap bananas anywhere, so I'm completely devoid of them at the moment. How I crave a banana!!

'Neet- Thanks for the 500ml suggestion...I think I may add some water to make the GS 'mush' better in the future. Snow Pea Sprouts!! I shall look for those suckers at the market.

All this mandarin drizzling is getting to me...I must go find a mandarin to eat.

btw, I'm sorry if I placed you in a sticky situation by asking about your eating plan...that was not my intention and I'm to blame as I am the one who asked. I just think it is a good idea to ask someone who has knowledge and has experimented so that I know where I should look to begin. Am thinking of buying some books online too.

I totally understand and thankyou for your concern!

As you said about using the diet as a guideline, that is what I plan to do. I am going to then work out what I need from there and what my body is asking for. I just thought it would be good to start with a framework of someone who has been doing this awhile to get my bearings and then see if I need to tweak it.

I agree with you that no one is the same so we cannot all follow the same patterns, that is very true.   smiley

I really like how that prose was written. Can I ask who wrote it?

Very meaningful.

Thankyou so much for the write up and the pm offer, Neet', most appreciated!!

That dinner sounds so divine...drizzled mandarin...yum yum!!
Can you send your best friend over here to make me that dish?

Re: Your eating plan.

I think I shall try the same kind of thing day to day. Do you mind if i ask what kind of green smoothie are you currently having, and how much of the ingredients makes about 500ml?

We have zero food in the kitchen as 'food day' is tomorrow at the market. So, I attempted my first green smoothie today using what was here. It had: 5 apples, The juice of five oranges, grapes and parsley, basil, celery and beet tops. I think I went way overboard with the greens as it took ages to get it to blend into a pulpy soup- so I was half chewing, half drinking. It was alright, but not the best. I do love my greens though.

I'm going to start running again as of this weekend.

Again, thankyou so much for all that info...you've also made me hungry with all the lovely food talk.  cheesy

I must be doing something wrong. When I went vegan I put on weight, now that I've gone raw I'm still putting on weight. No idea what is going on but I don't like being 65 kilos.

I think it's partly because I do about zero exercise (I need to resume this because not too long ago I loved to run and was a bit of a gym buff) but I am also scoffing my face on almonds...yikes.

'Neet...can I ask what a typical raw meal day is for you and exercise?...maybe that will help me work out how exactly to get on the right track.

I ate alot of steamed veggies (esp. pumpkin), salad and fruit...which had ample amounts of beta carotene.

It's good to have a glow like you do...there's just that line one can step over and look like self tanning gone wrong. Plus too much Vitamin A is toxic! EEK!

You have great skin though *is looking at your profile picture*, it must be all those green smoothies.

That sounds so good *looks at dehydrator gathering dust in the corner*

Can I come live with you?

That's the rosehip oil! *grin* But i got seriously addicted to carrot juice last year and I am SO YELLOW. I'm trying to get rid of it (I cut out carrots) but that's okay- i have no shame.

The dentist told me I had a nice tan.

Beta Carotene- the love/hate relationship it has with us.

I hope this is the right forum.

Anyway, does anyone order Vegan Voice? I just picked it up today for the first time ever. It's got a short raw rebuttle (to an article in an earlier issue) and apparently seems to feature raw columns. I don't know whether this is a new feature or not but the latest edition has this:

"MEET VEGAN BOB
He’s fit, he’s raw and he’s funny"

and this:

"SUPERFOOD NUTRITION
Torin King tells VV about his new business selling vegan superfoods"

I wonder if this means raw is starting to take off!

Anyway its also a great magazine that has heaps of vegan info and not a huge bunch of ads (like Vegetarian and Natural Health).

Their website is: www.veganic.net

So true. Especially when you end up sweaty and people wonder if you have liver damage because you are sweating yellow oil.

Good times. Smiley

Oh excellent, I'll definetly think about this over the weekend and give you a call if I plan to order.

I do want one...I'll just tell myself I'm really paying 35 dollars.

Ignorance is bliss!

Good to see it sounds like a big, meaty textbook.

Thanks for the info and night.
