Hi Jen,
Your little vegie-garden-spot-to-be looks very promising... you're gonna have a ball playing in your garden!
Sorry to hear you've overdone those greens... sounds a bit nasty! Good luck in your search for un-Bella'd clover
And that cake earlier just looks so... scrumplicious! I'm glad it's not at my house, because it would magically evaporate in one go and I'd strangely have a very sore belly!
...But I love the photo of your fridge... I could dive into that with my mouth wide open, oh so easily!
You, Caitlin and Brock are all looking very bright and happy too; it's wonderful to see! Thank you for sharing with us.
Looking forward to seeing you soon

Good on you, Neet!
As has already been said; if the path you were following wasn't resulting ideally for you, no-one's gonna point any fingers if you change it... or at least, they shouldn't. After all, it's no-one's business but yours, as is each individual's path of choices their own.
Glad to hear you're feeling fighting-fit again! Thank you for reminding me not to get fixated on 100% raw...
(And I am gobsmacked by those photos earlier in your thread, btw... wow, do you two glow!)
Much love
from

Jim, your Retreat sounds challenging, rewarding and fulfilling... and a joyful 'stretch' for the You you are travelling towards.
I agree that this raw journey we here are on is soooo much more than just about food... it just seems to be the catalyst for a total shift of consciousness...
Really enjoyed reading your story; felt I was there.
Thank you for sharing it with us
love from

Whew, an lowkey, low-tech start to 2008 it's been for me... spent NYE at M&D's down the coast after that day of 43degrees! Was a lovely li'l hol by the seaside, beachwalks and all, with my Mummo.
Low-tech-wise; I turned off my hot water service Tuesday (I'd not used hot water at all for a month so thought may as well), and am planning on having days (or longer) where I switch off all the power. Currently I've only baby spinach in my fridge so that's a waste of power; I go to bed at sundown; I can charge my phone at work, I don't watch telly, use a computer or cook. I'll only need to turn it on for laundry, if I have visitors, and when it's stinkin'hot for the fan, I reckon.
This year I'm practising frugality in all ways in my life; I'm sick of allowing money (or lack thereof / debt, to be exact ) dictate my experience and choices of life. 2008's the year for the Elf's financial freedom!
Food-wise: been high-raw. Not beating myself up about not reaching the 100% goal. I'll get there again. Picked lots of wild greens (fat-hen and malva) at mum & dad's and it made yummy smoothies. Am contemplating picking some again soon and planting it in planter boxes so my overzealous landlord doesn't rip it up I'm over paying $20+ a kilo for baby spinach, and these weeds taste just as mild.
Exercise-wise: have ridden my bike to the Bay&back, walked 1/2hr and swum, twice this week. This means I'm up at 5.30am, before all the yucky exhaust fumes have accumulated for the day. It was glorious this morning; painted sky, lapping tide and crystal-soft water... I didn't want to come home to go to work at all!
Sunshine-wise: been getting about 20-30min daily, after work. My backyard's perfectly in-line with the sun at 5:45pm when I get home from work. I'm actually tan again! Yay! Wearing little makeup, I have light freckles so when I'm tan, you can't see my scarring just dark circles so they get camouflaged! Mascara and lipbalm and that's it... which is amazing for me, considering I used to trowel it on an inch thick when I was hairdressing.... and now I don't even shampoo my hair at all! hehehehe
I've found an interesting seat for my bike which I shall buy when my finances are healthier as a reward. This is it: http://www.ergotheseat.com.au/htmlpages/health.html There's also some interesting reports and things. I have an Electra Townie 21 bike; it's sooooo comfy to ride. The seat's pretty good but could always be better!
I'm still coming up to Qld for my Cuz's wedding but that was looking up-in-the-air there too for ages... financially it's not the smartest move for me at the moment, but since I'd already paid for the flights ages ago, I'm gonna wing it. Wish me luck !
Much love to all xoxox the shy Elf

Hi Jen... The tent mahal sounds fabbo.... may have to drop in! I will let you know well beforehand if possible! ...and I'm not that organised; just well-aware of my shortcomings with timekeeping!
Hola Fruiteus Maximus, the course you're "studying" sounds spot-on. I would love any information / links you may be able to share, please! Do you feel it's a worthwhile course??
And I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet you while I still lived in your neighbourhood....may end up living there again, who knows, so would meet you then! please enjoy the Sunny coast to the max on my behalf... i sooooo miss it! I much prefer it to SA, climate-wise.
Food-wise: didn't stay 100% raw over Christmas, but was vegetarian at least. Ate lots of fruit still, probably 50% raw. So I'm happy with that.
I bought a 5kg box of cherries on the way to my folks' from a roadside grower so everyone got stuck into those for snacking. Turned out to be the best idea I'd had in ages! Cos everyone loves cherries so everyone ate lots of fruit... heheheehhe the sneaky elf strikes again! And did a couple of beach walks with my dad and brother, so got a bit of exercise at least.... ;-D
Today marks the start of me aiming for 801010rv again. I have my cousin's wedding in Townsville on Aus Day as a goal date for looking glowy, fit and happy!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas; I did. First time in 4 years I've not been stuck behind the front desk of the resort, all alone, on Christmas Day.... YAY!!!!!
Much love to all

Thank you Jen I'm gonna Google raw study now!
(I'm at the Library; love it here!)
Aw, Jen, you gotta be one of the most generous-hearted people I know! Thank you! You never know, I may just take you up on your offer... and yes, bein' a country girl born&bred I can drive a manual ute ... ;-D
Currently I'm struggling with the whole "it's Christmas, let's just eat whatever I'm offered..."
I think hydration or lack thereof is contributing to these thoughts... so today I'm knocking back the H2O on a 15-minutely-basis. (at least a couple of mouthfuls.) I set my watch alarm to remember to do this! I'm too easily distracted otherwise.... heheheheh.....Elf, off with the Fairies... who'da thought??
And trying to be a good Girl Scout and "Be Prepared" with fruit for snack-attacks!
I've just been to the Central Markets and slinked my way through the hordes there to stock up on fresh&fruity yummies. Tomorrow I'm experimenting making raw 'nibblies'... wish me luck!
Now, to get into the exercise again.....
bye for now xox the ELF

Aha! Jen, I just knew that you were psychic! I will, however, be in Qld from 23 Jan - 10 Feb; (6 days Townsville, then 10 days SE Qld... ) Cannot wait! And thank you for reminding me to focus on the Raw that I am eating, rather than the other.
My long-standing confusion-fug seems to be a case of: SA/Adelaide=family , QLD/Noosa/GC etc=Climate/lifestyle I adore.
...and it's doin' ma head in!
Vaguely contemplating WWOOFing while I'm in SEQld if possible and extending flight home... as long as I cover rent back here.... ideas, ideas...
I really wanna work somehow in the Natural Health/Hygiene/Nutrition arena... yet feel like I need qualifications or something?? Like I'm not knowledgeable enough/ have all the answers?? I guess it's just a matter of being brave enough to take that step out of my comfort-zone... story of my cowardly little life!
Ah well. I shall triumph eventually.
must skedaddle... love to all

Hello there glowing Goddess ...
sending you a special Christmas hug... I'm so glad to hear you're being gentle with yourself; you're doing so so so well on this crazy journey we all tread!
Thank you for thinking of me... And I'm sorry I'm not "here" on the forum for chatting very much, too. I tend to semi-avoid the Chat area too, mainly because I have limited time online and I'd prefer to spend it in Journals 'with' you all!

Hello you wonderful ladies!
Jen, you cracked me up with the 'deflating' image... and thank you for the compliment... (((hugs)))
Chermona, thank you for thinking of me. I'll meet you again soon.
Neet, thank you for asking; I'm okay. Dealing with some major clouds of confusion along the lines of "what do I want to do with my life? where do I wanna be?" you know... all those delightful and cheering questions
I've not worked since Thurs, temp season's dead over Christmas apparently. Fortunately have work between Christmas til 4 Jan. I know I should get full time work so as to not have this problem of zero funds when there's zero work... but something deep down just cries out No! when i contemplate getting fulltime work for continuity's sake.
Ok enough sad-sack time!
On the "eats" side...
so far today I've been all raw... but not all week long. Probably about 70%. Still vegetarian but not vegan..
Visited my parents with my brother&sis-in-law and nephew yesterday so ate homecooked vegetarian lasagne... it was delicious. Felt the need for "nurturing" from mum and didn't want to be a nuisance when I'd tagged along for a surprise visit and she didn't know I was coming, to cater for me.
I'm at the library, having ridden my bike here. I'm armed with a narnie&spinach GS to enjoy on the lawn in the sunshine shortly. Today's a good day and I'll get there.
Much love to you all

Thank you beeeeyoutiful ladeeez!
Sorry, on library 'puter so short,sharp&shiny...
have only had 1.5days work this week so definitely good time for a water fast, yes? Have been struggling this week being all raw, culminating in a chinese munch-out at Central Markets yesterday; managed to avoid most meats but probably still ate a little. Boy am I puffy today!!!
So far today have had lotsssss of filtered water, an apricot (from my Chiropractor ) and half a delicious big rockmelon. Mmmm... locating great rockmelons is a pretty hit-&-miss affair, I'm finding!
Love to all, my time is up!

Oh, May, you stunner!
Poor David's gonna have his work cut out for him at this dinner, picking up everyone's jaws from the floor!
Congratulations on nearly getting shot through the ceiling... that cracked me up! oh, you make my day...
Wonderful to see you gleaming, beautiful May. And I promise I won't disappear again. I missed you!
Have a marvellous evening!

Thank you, lovely Neet
Well, today I'm feeling on Cloud 9! My mum's all keen to get into green smoothie-ing after reading Green For Life! Unreal! (I'm also in shock; she's professed to ... wait for it... hate mangoes! I'm forced to ask the question; are you really my mother??) heheheh! Look out, Dad!
I also am excited over my lunchtime purchases; a tray of 18 mangoes for $10! As well as many other fresh'n'fruity yummies... and if Mum doesn't like 'em, it means more for me!
I'm spending this weekend at my parents' down the coast so hopefully will do lots of beach walking and rope Mum and Dad into it... looking forward to a little seaside mini-holiday
Yesterday I didn't eat much, but was crazy-thirsty so drank 4L of filtered water. Had mango GS for lunch only cos I didn't want to waste it but wasn't really hungry for it. A few strawberries and cherries for dinner cos I was out with family.
Today I haven't been hungry either but still had mango GS today cos I'd made it... I think maybe I should leave the GSs for dinner as when I bring them to work I feel compelled not to waste them... just sooo thirsty right now, not hungry.
Good time for a little water fast, perhaps? Any advice from anyone who's water fasted? It seems that's what my body's asking for right now...
...Murphy's Law... just when I've 18 mangoes ripe'n'ready to go!
Have a marvellous day
xx
