3  FAQ - Check Here for the most common Answers! / Raw Food FAQ / Re: wine ???? on: Thursday 08 January, 2009
apparently wine is raw i've heard but another huge problem would be finding preservative free organic and vegan wine.
most wines have sulfur/sulphur/sulphites or whatever it is to preserve them, they also are filtered with animal products, even if it says vegan does is it filtered with cooked products? however if you do find wine you are willing to drink i advise take it much much easier on raw. it's affects you much more. maybe dilute it by making a sangria or some sort of elixer from juliano's book or raw food real world. that will keep you a little more hydrated.

there's lots of claims about the health benefits of wine however wouldn't just eating whole raw grapes give you all the benefits and more of wine? blended grapes are quite nice. real raw unfermented wine  laugh
5  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / Re: how do i make raw soup? on: Thursday 08 January, 2009
that's why i grated beetroot in a soup the other day. easier on my blender. some things i would just put in whole chunks like cucumber.
6  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / sweet beetroot soup on: Tuesday 06 January, 2009
i just had a really good soup! it was just made of
1 raw beetroot grated
2 strawberries (recipe i used called for three only two in my garden  laugh)
1 apple
1 cup water

blend and serve. i added a sour cream made from young coconut flesh, macas and lemon
and swirled it around. it tasted really creamy but light.

i've got to try banana and celery. waiting for my bananas to ripen though. nutridiary is great. i've put in the food for my 100 percent raw days and come out well above average with most vitamins and things like iron and calcium and that doesn't include foods they don't have like chia which is packed full of minerals and vitamins.

i have a question neet. i've been doing rebounding and work outs with the those big balls would limit that to 2 or 3 times a week since its partly strength? oh and by the way how good is strawberry with tomato. i did it in a raw marinara once and it just goes so good.

11  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / Re: thai coconut salad on: Sunday 28 December, 2008
i didn't spread it that much. it could have been thinner maybe but then it might have had holes in it. i just spread it a little and then used gravity to spread it by tipping the tray and rotating it slowly. once it dehydrates it gets thinner on its own. hope that helps. Smiley
12  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / thai coconut salad on: Saturday 27 December, 2008
i just made a delicious salad and thought i would share.
ingredients:
1- many thai coconuts for future use
avocado
red capsicum sliced
handful or less of crushed cashews/macadamias
bean sprouts
cherry tomatoes

blend two parts young coconut meat to 1 1/2 parts of coconut water until very smooth and goopy.
spread out on a teflex sheet and dehydrate for up to eight hours until pliable like a rice paper sheet.
i cut the coconut "sheet" into circles and made spring rolls and just kept the left overs and sliced them into noodles for the salad. mix all together add some cilantro and black sesame seeds to garnish.
13  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / stomach acidity? on: Tuesday 23 December, 2008
i've been reading green for life and pondering about hcl levels and digestion ect. i was wondering if anybody has personally included green smoothies in their diet and had better digestion, assimilation of nutrients ect that green for life talks about from drinking green smoothies? regardless of how much raw i have i think i might go on a green smoothie challenge.
14  Go RAW! The Testimonial Section! / RAW Journals - Your RAW Experiences / Re: travis' raw adventure on: Tuesday 23 December, 2008
thanks rgg. will keep that in mind for next time. tis quiet on the forum closer to xmas. i've decided to cease posting in my journal about my food and goals unless it's light. trying to keep raw eating fun and think less about food which seems to work well. i'm focusing on living and exercising which is most important. i so often put so much pressure on myself to eat 100 percent raw so this journal will no longer talk of my progress with raw food but will talk about the raw food i enjoy from time to time and other goings on.
i discovered that chia goes well with blended tomatoes. kind of like an italian rissotto i thought. had it for lunch today with basil and avocado.
