16  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Do You Have Any Doubt that Diet Can Cause Acne? on: Thursday 30 October, 2008
my scars are slowly healing on raw but i haven't been raw that long. they can look a lot worse when i go back to cooked food. not sure if they can fully heal but never say never. vitamin e is supposed to help heal scarring. i might get some rose hip oil and put it on at night again because that stuff works very well on my skin.
17  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: How much green juice do you drink? on: Thursday 30 October, 2008
none. i've had one recently which i quite liked. juiced parsley with a little mint, apple, cucumber and celery. tastes nice and sweet i got it from matthew kenney's new recipe book but it had carrot too, thought i'd better leave the vegetable out since fruit and veg aren't meant to mix well. been trying to have more green smoothies. did yesterday but not today naughty me.

hi bb. you are a great person and you should know that. what you were just saying about being loved but then coming crashing down is so similar to what i heard in a lecture by doug graham's wife. if you're interested just search Rozalind Gruben - "Social and Emotional Aspects of Eating" on youtube.

thanks neet. that helped so much! especially the water one. its after i have a huge one or two glasses of water that the foginess clears and at the end of the day i tend to neglect the water intake. i just watched such an amazing and funny lecture on youtube by doug grahams wife on the social and emotional aspects of eating! just search Rozalind Gruben - "Social and Emotional Aspects of Eating" on youtube to find. at the end she said about bringing avocado and having food in the car in case your not properly fed. in her words she said trust in allah but tie your camel.

i'm in a pickle. all the japanese students are having a buffet dinner at the watermark hotel for the end of year gala. most of the students are graduating and i want to celebrate with my classmates. being a buffet dinner i'm sure there will be salads but i'm worried that i'll want to eat some cooked food and have a drink. i've thought because i won't be at uni for the end of next year and because i've wanted to celebrate just this once with my classmates it'll be ok yet i thin it would be a shame after coming this far. i'm really not sure what to do. plus if i eat cooked food i might feel really sick after not having cooked food for a while. anyone have some advice?

you're welcome raw mumma. i tend to work sundays lately but if i have time i'll give it a go. i feel all "floppy" too after a yoga session. 1 1/2 hours of yoga. that's so great that Caitlyn can do that. gaining all that flexibility at a young age would be great. she could be a gymnast, dancer or anything.

i just went for a run along burleigh beach and stopped at all the flags to swim out then back in. swimming in salt water really cleans my airways and helps get rid of all that mucus. i feel awesome i did the run easily and i felt so relaxed after but maybe a little too relaxed, i should've been paying more attention the road on the way home  laugh my body is feeling so light and like i have fewer ailments. just lots of good energy flowing.

i really found it helped to break up the running with something else so i could keep going longer. i think i will keep doing the run swim runs. i have alot of oranges so i think i'll blend them with apple and make a green smoothie out of them for lunch. i feel a bit groggy when i wake up but having a big glass of water after is helping i think, at first this morning i was thinking i don't feel much different on raw but once i wake up all the fog disappears.

certainly would not. don't they have to label it as gm too so people can clearly see?

thanks bb nice to hear from you. hi jen  laugh hi rgg  laugh

yes getting in the greens really helps another big salad tonight and another day raw. i'm loving the food! i love tomatoes in salads when they're fully ripe with olives and green smoothies and now celery which i used to not be big on. i'm going to buy loads of celery this week again. definitely want to start rotating them. in my gs i've mainly had my silverbeet from the garden might get some kale and different greens this week.

not wanting cooked food today either still detoxing though . i just love the food i eat at the moment.i was looking at bread in a cookbook this morning and doughnuts walking past the shops at work and just thought of how dry are and how much i prefer real food. i think my jumbo eight banana and berry smoothie helped. getting sufficient calories really is important i realise. i had a big wedge of watermelon for lunch too while sitting in the sun. i really found it funny just digging in like that. i got some wierd looks too. lol

my yoga the other night was great jen. i think i'd better some more tonight. twas a really good session. i focused on my breathing more and just took my time. i can rush it sometimes but its so much more effective when i take the time and focus, breathe deep and forget about time. if i do it right by the end of it i feel as high as a kite and all my worries literally float away. i learnt from a book so i should get even some lessons so i know what i'm doing more or a dvd so jen i think it would be great to stock in the store, anyway i've never injured myself from it so i think its ok to keep doing what i know for now.

i am really happy for you that the yoga is going well. i hear you on the quietness. i recently took the battery out of my wall clock with the ticking and loved my quiet time with yoga last night.

btw, i wasnt down at banaglow the other day. wish i could have been. i'll ask my brother i don't think he was but you never know he has a girlfriend who lives down that way so it is possible.

yummm yummm yummm. i just had the best salad. sundried tomatoes, mixed lettuce, olives and half an avo.

had a quite a green day. had a green juice of cukes, celery, apple parsley and mint.
a papaya mango and banana pudding, then a green smoothie with pineapple oranges and silver-beet at lunch and just had my salad. i am really cleansing. i hope it passes soon. my stomach has been upset on and off but its not constant and could be more violent. i'm not sure how long i've been raw for but this may be the longest period. so far 10 days.

i'm going to aim for a green smoothie each day and a salad to up my greens intake and try and leave fats evening meals. greens just seem to go with everything don't they? i figure if i can have a few olives with avo or lots of sweet green smoothies its a good way to trick my body into liking greens.

i might go do yoga now so i have some sort of exercise for the day plus i've heard gentle exercise is good when detoxing. i did so bad on a test at uni today and i don't just think but know it kinda disappointed in myself i should've prepared better. despite this i'm feeling good tonight and positive. maybe its the raw food?

i just was thinking and thought it would be good to add that i had some impure thoughts today.
about food that is. i've got to the point where after a week on raw which has been very enjoyable mostly
and relatively easy, but i keep having these thoughts where i think will this last forever or maybe i should have
some cooked food and go into it at about 80% maybe that would slow down my detox. when i was sitting in the
sun on my work break i noticed a vegan restaurant across the road and went to see if they had salads i could get
so i don't always have to pack a lunch and i was very tempted by the cooked food once i left. i sort of forget why i am doing this again. i know i feel awesome once i keep at it but at the moment i just am persisting for the sake of it because i think it would be a wasted effort coming this far. i'm also scared that if i have cooked food again i'll have a very violent reaction to it like i have in the past after eating full raw for a while. i keep thinking about how my mucus that protects me from nasty cooked food is being expelled everytime i wake up and spit it out in the morning and it would be a bad idea. hmm confusing at times. i think i should just keep going for about a month and see how i feel at the end of it.

just been reading your journal. i can definitely see how it can take five years to go 100 percent
take your time it'll happen when its meant to.
glad your yoga is going well. yoga is such a great thing for the mind and body. i've been trying to do a
little too only half an hour or so but it feels so awesome after.
