271  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Aaaaah the embarrassing moments.... on: Monday 14 January, 2008
that's hilarious. it happens to us all. when i used to do kung fu and we were warming down once somebody next to me farted and the whole class couldn't stop laughing. i just thought of one embarassing moment. i used to do outrigging (those hawaiin boats with the thing on the side) and i had to call when we the sides our paddles are on and I had a huge blowout and we all stopped paddling and laughed.

just thought i'd pop in. been a while. i feel gross. since begger's can't be choosers i've been so un raw while not working. it's almost a good thing because it really reaffirms that i want to eat alot of raw food and that cooked food and especially having so much grain and milk is not good for me. plus i've realised that eating as much organic food for me was way too expensive so i am learning to make do when i do have a dollar to spare.
at the moment i am plagued with big lumpy pimples and i haven't felt like this in years especially mentally. the food i am eating at the moment reminds me of high shcool times, lots of grain and brain drain. even before i started eating more raw food i at least made good choices in cooked food. maybe i should just eat the grass outside and fast till i get a job. it's probably not a bad idea since i'd probably feel less groggy from eating refined carbs.
274  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Yellow Skin on: Wednesday 19 December, 2007
i've heard of this before. my mum said that a friend of hers in school turned yellow because she was drinking so much carrot juice. I think it was Victoria Boutenko who said she turned yellow after eating dandelion because it helped clean out her liver so much.

what a late post but i need to vent. i have no job as of today. me and a friend i've had since school were fired together. through investigation with other staff members i think it's because the manager resented my friend and i for being friends with all the staff. apprently she wanted to make an example out of firing her two longest lasting employees for the new staff. i don't get some people. she could do with some raw food.

immediately after my first thought was "finally!" soon after came worry and a feeling of shame and dirtiness. i never imagined ever being fired before. apparently it was just written on my face that i hated what i was doing. i was told i obviously don't want to be there anyway and she couldn'tve been more right. what an abusive relationship it has been working for warner brothers. working every weekend for nothing no extra pay, doing manager duties, being called in a accepting shifts to the point of it being detrimental to my health, happiness and study. i wish i got in first, i was thinking of walking out the other day because i loathed that place with every ounce of my being but was hanging on over christmas. my new philosiphy now is if it feels good just do it. go with my gut and don't listen to what others say i should do.

there was so much negative energy in that place and i'm finally free from it. tomorrow will be a super 100 percent raw day to get me feeling good for job hunting on thursday. does anyone ever do  tai chi? just started practicing it again. i used to when i did kung fu. a good way to chill out.
276  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / fluoridated water in qld on: Tuesday 11 December, 2007
i just read on the griffith uni website that flouride is going to be introduced into qld's water supply. what is everyone's view on flouride? will simply filtering with say a brita water filter be enough or is it best to have bottled mineral water or spring water?

i think i've skimmed some threads where people have mentioned some negative effects of flouridated water so i was wondering what the go is with flouride. i don't like the idea of it personally. i think it's unfair that the government can decide what's in our water. i'd say the problem is more sugary rubbish diets that degenerate the teeth. we should start lobbying for legislation on these things. for eg. i'd like to see it mandated that things labelled raw actually are, like so called "raw" cashews ect. and natural or diet have no sugar or artificial sweeteners added.

277  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Raw cacao - what does it taste like to YOU? :) on: Sunday 02 December, 2007
i love raw cacao. nibs are really nice in fudges with nuts, dates and raisins. i like getting a big chunk of the cacao. it tastes like dark chocolate alot but when it's raw i think there's extra flavour. when i think of cooked food now, i think the flavour i smell is the original flavour being cooked away. i find that cooked food has one flavour that is fairly bland but raw food has a much more sharp taste it's almost clean and cooked food is dirty to my tongue. i've always loved cooking food and fancy myself as a bit of a foody and i find raw food from a culinary point of view fascinating. after reading books like raw food real world i can really see raw food restaurants would be an amazing dining experience.

haven't posted in a while. today was a rawsome day. 100 percent with plenty of exercise. i am really starting to like green smoothies. the taste is just good. hard to describe how the greens with fruit make such a nice contrast. i really like apple with banana and mixed greens. has anyone been picking wild greens since sergei's talk? i keep looking at dandelion and pigweed near my house but it's all around gardens that i'm sure have been sprayed. i saw some dandelion around burleigh headland. i might go for a walk or run round there tomorrow and put some in my gs. i also made a really nice lasagne today with pesto and marinara sauce between rocket, zucchini and tomato slices. raw lasagne is so good. it's got all the taste and none of the bad.

i havent' been to raw lately. i bought a 600 dollar return ticket to japan for may next year so i've been taking what i can get this week. i really want to start growing some greens and things so i can spend less on food. can anyone tell me what is easy to grow?
279  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Re: Keep Fit Away from the Gym? on: Sunday 02 December, 2007
i recently cancelled a gym membership too. i find it's boring. i find i'm more motivated or inspired to exercise outside like on the beach or in a forest and as for weights, i know some people like them but i find that the best thing is using your own body weight. push ups, sit ups or any cardio like swimming. i think pilates is not bad too. i got a book from the library called yoga for regular guys. it's written by a famous wrestler in america who does yoga for strength. theres alot of good stuff in there you could try. keep trying new fun things to keep you motivated. i want to get one of those exercise balls. they seem fun  ohyeah

i just had a look at rebounding on youtube. definitely gonna get a little trampoline soon.
280  FAQ - Check Here for the most common Answers! / Raw Food FAQ / calories and energy on: Thursday 29 November, 2007
i was wondering if anybody knows much about calories and energy from food. my question is, how do calories in food effect your body? If i simplye at a huge amount of calories does this simply give me energy and make me want to exercise? can i overeat calories on raw when I am not burning them off with exercise? Sometimes i think when i'm just going to work i shouldn't need much fruit or energy. I also sometimes think maybe if i don't feel like exercising i should just not do it unless i really feel energized.

283  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: are australian raw oils available? on: Saturday 24 November, 2007
i've wondered the same thing. i get lupi cold pressed organic i hope that's raw and my coconut oil. i don't really need to use oil much though i suppose. i don't really like the taste of it.

285  Go RAW! The Testimonial Section! / RAW Journals - Your RAW Experiences / Re: travis' raw adventure on: Saturday 24 November, 2007
thanks guys. i feel so much better now. i am just gonna eat raw food whenever i can and if i want to enjoy cooked food occasionally i will. i read in raw food real world how if you eat alot of raw your body can actually handle some cooked food better. if i think of it as fun and don't take it too serious it's much better for me that way.
