1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: New name on: Friday 02 November, 2007
Hello BB,

Taken from a lovely book I have...Love's Alchemy by Sky

....To be fully who we may be is to follow our BLISS. This reflects natural balance between the inner experience of spirit and the outer experience of life....
To live truly, our lives must be both comtemplative and active. In this is our destiny and bliss.
An incomparable Sanskrit word: Satchitananda..Sat means being, chit means awareness and ananda means bliss. So the word means 'Awareness of being is bliss'

This is a lovely word to take to the heart, not as a word- too mental, too conceptual - and not visually, but as a sound, and let the music of it seduce the sense of oneself to blissful happiness..It is an exquisite word.

Perhaps the whole word as a gorgeous name..or as you are BB perhaps simply Ananda!

Hi Pea,
Good to hear youre better and busting to get out there again..
I havent written to you before..Im quite new here..and madly taking in experiences of so many to help me join a similar path.
I have begun reading your Journal...and goals..you mentioned the Overland track Raw. Have you done it yet? I havent read right through your journal..so may find it somewhere there as I read on..but ...I my ears pricked..(if thats what you say when you read something that excites you??    laugh  )
Anyway ... I did that walk earlier this year..was absolutely fantastic to say the least!
It was in Feb. weather was surreal and saw the most stunning landscapes etc.
I wasnt learning about RAW at that time..so carried my funny cooked stuff instead. I made a dehydrator out of a computer monitor box..lined it with foil, put a big 120watt light globe in the bottom and bingo.....a dehydrator..added some dowel rods to make removable racks also..Anyway, made my naughty cooked food favs..such as thai veggie curry etc and rice...and dehydrated the lot..So meal were light.
Had to carry water..2ltrs each day..but each of the camps along the way had water to replenish.
We each had around 20kg to begin (a group of 5 girlfriends from home..Coffs Harbour/Bellingen) First day was the most challenging..a nice scramble up a steepish bit with chain to assist you..Felt thoroughly exhilerated at the end of each day...
So..if you havent already fitted this one in...I would keep it high on my goals list..just awesome..So much so I want to do it again! Have been doing 3 and 4 day walks since more locally with same group and a few new recruits...so much fun and the camping at night is wonderful.
All the very best,
Ashleigh
ps..I grew up in Adel...after immigrating from the UK ..One Tree Hill was the family home...and rented in Adel and around once I left school..Lovely place and great lifestyle with loads of outdoor adventures!

Hi BerryBliss,
It gives me tingles to read this last post...juice feasting day 25.

I can feel your brimming energy and share in the sheer excitement of the energy you are creating and putting out to those around you at home and here.

How dynamic a girl to break the mold you had believed was yours.

You are taking such an exciting path as you stretch your new wings and see the world around you from your changed perpespective of who you are and where you are going.

Its a path  of happiness, success, challenges, love, empathy, trust, strength, nurturing, sharing and the list goes on...all of which you experience in their entirety at various steps along the way, and often in a way that is new to you.

Good on you for being so giving of your time to your family, allowing them to share in your experiences and learn along with you as they enjoy the delights you nourish them with and educate them at the same time...this is priceless..

Their energy will be changing too along with yours. Perhaps encourage them to learn the simplicity of the kitchen activities..... visualise a fun positive time preparing meals together where practical..all for the better of everyone.
However you deal with this, you will with grace and clarity that they will feel...and the outcome will be just what you desire at the right time.

Lovely to share your experiences,
Ashleigh
xx

Hi,
Just a little update...sites 83 and 84 are booked at Broken Head Holiday park so far for Fruitypie and the other for myself. It is a back corner backing onto national park there are several sites in this corner and should fit many.. Just mention Raw food group when booking your site to be added to the area.

Hi Fruitypie,  ... and those wanting to book into Broken Head CP..

Just checked out the walk to get to workshop....a bit further than 200m...but I think we will manage!

I have booked a site...it is under 'Raw food group' and my name Ashleigh Wilson.
At this stage there is plenty of room .. the sooner the better for bookings though..

Really looking forward to it..
A

ps Fruitypie..sent you a pm re your visit to Bello..

Hi Emily, Fruitypie and RawAussieAthlete,

I understand Christines desire to take her dog. I would love to take mine too...but what to do with them whilst the workshop is a tricky one.
Therefore he misses this trip.
It would be nice to camp together but If it doesnt pan out that way..we have the workshop to meet and enjoy.

I will book a spot at Broken Head..for 2 days I think they require $50deposit...leaving only $12/site on arrival due...unless of course you plan to stay longer...I may do this also..depends on shift swaps at work..

Not sure if anyone has made decisions yet...discussing at Potluck it sounds like...(would love to know what potluck is ) But I will mention to lady to think along the lines of a group and try to pick a nice spot..I know the park fairly well...so could have a think of where would be nice..quiet..mozzieless etc.

Happy Salsa- ing by the sounds of it! (global carnival is on  in Bellingen this weekend...listened to some great rhythms waft across the valley..Salsa n all)

Ashleigh

Hello RawAussieAthlete and Fruitypie, thanks for your welcome. The seminar is spot on for pointing me in the right direction. I have ordered a couple of books 80/10/10 and 12 steps to raw foods, so will have them absorbed.

I live in Bellingen and have snuck up to Byron on the odd occasion.
It was mentioned that schoolies week was the same as the workshop..this puts an interesting slant on things.
I have spent some time camping at Belongil CP. Yes it is huge..bit of trivia-it is the original ground of the first few Byron blues festivals before they moved it to Devils sports ground..(and is actually going back to Belongil for 08  before going to its new purposely built location I think at Tyalgum)
To get from Belongil CP to Broken Head..where the workshop is being held you would need to take the very snail pace traffic crawl into the heart of Byron and back out the other side basically. I know how manic the area is during festive periods etc. and would avoid the traffic problem personally.
I do prefer the quiet spots I must admit and yes Im sure you will find plenty of space and quiet at Belongil as it is HUGE. Amenities are there..but were very basic. Maybe they have been upgraded. I managed, but was a bit creeped out on occasions when you do that middle of the night sleep walk..and can be confronted with some interesting wildlife. Much more awake all of a sudden!

Broken Head, where the workshop is being held is just basically one road that takes you to a dead end..where there is a caravan park and beautiful beach. I know the cost of camping will be more there..

It is $26 per non powered site..but that is for 2 adults ie 2 tents. a third adult costs an extra $12. So possibly a just over $10 each.
It is a lovely spot and is just gorgeous to walk onto beach first thing in the morning, last thing at night etc etc all at your doorstep. Brush turkeys and other wildlife wander through the grounds and entertain the happy campers on my previous stays there.

As it is about 11km from the heart of Byron there are no probs with schoolies at all.
The bonus is you can stroll to the workshop and back..only about 200m away..thats after your yoga/run/meditation/swim on the beach ha!

I called the CP and they need a deposit to secure sites if interested and can look at organising an area specific for the rawbees if youd like that.

To cut this tale shorter...I would highly recommend it
I have a camper I will be using, but there will be space for another one or two on the site I would say if anyone needs it.   Hope this helps, Ash.
