PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Any reviews/views on the RP Automatic Sprouter???

Fellow Green Cravers... I'm just about to put on a new order with RP. I'm wanting wheatgrass in my diet, but growing it scares me a little. I can be lazy and I work 12 hour days, so I'm wondering if this set up will improve my chances of success. Also wondering whether anyone knows how wheatgrass fairs in very hot climates. Alice is hotting up now, and we'll be simmering on 40 degrees before too long. So do I need any special advice? If anyone has any tips to give I'd be glad to accept. Any insights on this little contraption and growing in general would be great. Thanks, Denise

Hey Date Lovers Alas I'm in no position to buy a date farm, but as a local I do get to buy Alice Honey Dates for $12/k from my local health/organics store. Would be happy to do some face to face chatting with the date people here before the next season, to see if we can get you people a better deal. Just remember though, that most of you have access to many more delghts than we can get in Alice. I've a feeling that unless you can buy up big time it won't work out much cheaper, due to postage. In the meantime I shall think of you as I munch them ravenously. I have to say that most of you sound so good. I've been known to eat a bag full in one sitting. Each honey date is devine, but small - small enough to give you just enough to start your taste buds buzzing, but leaves you feeling the sensation was not quite complete, so you have another. And this can go on for some time. Perhaps I'm single-handedly responsible for diminishing stocks around the country... ^_ Denise

Yes, I've been denied the right to donate blood here too. I actually think it's ridiculous. I often hear that there's a shortage of blood but this rule exists. In the UK there have been very, very few cases of CJD (Creutzfeld Jacobs Disease). It would be a miniscule risk and I certainly believe there are many other risks from receiving another's blood that has been okayed, that we simply do not know about.
I was in Thailand last January and tried to donate blood for Tsunami victims. There I was refused because I had had acupuncture in the previous 12 months.
I get the feeling my blood is not wanted by anyone but me.

The dehydrator is boxed and awiting clarification from the owner - ie does it usually make this noise. It's an old Harvest Maid, and I discovered on line that many do rattle a lot but still dehydrate fine.
I'm not too distraught because I'm off home to England soon for a trip and when I return I will be hitting the big 40 and a very good friend has offered to buy me a very fine Excalibur from S&P for my birthday. So only about 6 weeks to go until I have my own to play with.
The blender's blending fine too. Must soak some almonds for morning milk (glorious milk bag is fine new friend).

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / HELP! Loaned dehydrator gone bung...
|
on: Sunday 02 April, 2006

Yesterday was a somewhat jinxed day for me. First a friend's dehydrator started making funny clunking noises (half way through my first ever attempt at dehydrating - the sweet potato chips were not yet chrisp but were still yummy). About 5 minutes later my blender went bung, as I was mixing up some pizza bases to dehydrate. So here's my question - does anyone know what temperature I can set the oven to, with the oven door ajar, to dehydrate these pizza bases without a proper dehydrator? I know I've read this somewhere on the site, but can't seem to find it today. Thanks in advance for any tips. Denise

So Joss, Where did you source you B12 sublinguals? I had difficulty finding any on-line. I too have been considering supps on and off for the last couple of years. Although only just raw, I've had many years as a vegan. Was intersted in what you had to say about the whites of your eyes being slightly yellow and your tongue sensitive. Are these tell-tale signs of B12 deficiency? I've noticed the same thing with my eyes over the past few months.
