well, the day has finally come... hoooray - today is the day no.30 in my raw itinerary cool and i feel sooooo good  afro
i had no plan when i started raw, it was actually cold turkey transition and i just wanted to try it cuz you guys made it sound so inspirational and so.. well worth trying ... and here i am - after 30 days i feel absolutely fabulous... too skinny though ... when i started i was 52 kg, and now i'm down to 45-46 or so.. not sure realy cuz i don't have the scale, but all my clothes are so loose (i'm 165cm) ... i should probably eat more nuts - hardly ever eat them cuz i don't like the after feeling  (i prefer olive oil with squized lemon juice on my salad   kiss hmm... and with fresh herbs  kiss kiss yumy)
bee polen did wonders for me too, aspecially with my  beer cravings evil (gone now... thanks to mighty bees cool)
hmm...and sprouts... they make you feel magical... and addicted rolleyes (i use mungo and black lentils)... speaking of lentils... i've tried to sprout red lentils few times but nothing happened...except strange smell
so... that's all from me for now...

Congratulations! Fantastic to hear you have had such a great month, My daughter has just done 30 days as well and has no plans to change, when asked at 15days how it was going all she could say was 'Mum...I live for raw!', i bet you feel the same.
I agree with you about the sprouts, they are alive and eating them definately puts life into us i am sure. My afternoon sprout salad revs me up and gets me charged for the rest of the day...i understand your addiction to them, i have a 'sprout central' in my kitchen.... fresh sprouts always on the go....would hate to run out.
Are the red lentils split...if they are they will not sprout, the smell would be them fermenting id say.
By the way, feeling sooooo good is what being raw is all about, i'm convinced!!!
Let us know your plans for the next 30 days...
cheers, Karen

Fig you will quickly put the weight back on. Today people are too fat and we have lost touch with what we should all look like. I doubt if there are any scales in nature anyway.

As long as you are eating a variety of foods and plenty of them, you should be fine. You can eat more nuts and oily foods if you are really worried. After the initial detox, you will becone the weight you were always meant to be.

fantastic fig!! don't be too worried re the weight loss, joss is exactly right your weight will stabilise and you will be the weight you are meant to be..i know initially it can be a little disconcerting to be so lean, but you will adjust..joss also weighs light,i am 173cm and weigh 52-53kgs,so don't be too concerned...hey! good excuse to go shopping..it'll be easier for you to find clothes than me i would say, alot of designers presume that if you are size 6 you must also be quite short and with shorter limbs :rolleyes:and alot of the size 6 stuff is still too big,it's all fun though....enjoy feeling awesome,it only gets better and more amazing by the day...

what age is your daughter Karen? how wonderful that she is discovering the joys of raw too...

Hi Fig,

Congratulations on 30 days raw!  I long to be able to say that I have been 30 days raw, but I suspect it won't be until Summer.

I wanted to post and say welcome to you earlier, especially when I read that you were from Croatia - but I needed to do some checking first.

When I was travelling in your part of the world about 15 years or so ago, it was Yugoslavia.  Gosh I loved it!  Such a beautiful country, and some truly magical people.  We were blessed to meet and be helped by some gorgeous people in our time there.  We hung out in pool halls with students learning English etc., and a woman in Sarajevo went so far out of her way for us when our car was broken into.  Exquisite.

I'm happy to discover that my absolute favourite place is in Croatia!  Dubrovnik.  It's difficult for me to explain how much I loved the old city of Dubrovnik.  We were there twice, and the first time, we didn't see the old city.  On our return visit, we found it, and I felt like I had stumbled into Aladdin's cave.  I walked the city ramparts, and just loved the promenading that happened down the main 'street' of the old city.  I felt as if I was taking part in an old European tradition.  I left a piece of my heart in the cobblestone streets of Dubrovnik.

I remember being devastated when the city was attacked in 1991 (??) - I was so sad that such a place of beauty would be targetted, and that perhaps people would not be able to enjoy it, as I had.  I have read that it was rebuilt (finishing in 2005), so I take some comfort in that.

It was autumn when we were travelling there, and it amazed me then, as it does now, that Italy, France etc. get so much attention, when there is equal beauty in what was then Yugoslavia.

wow! tnx sooo much for all your beautiful replays, you realy made my day cuz i wasn't expecting nothing of that kind !
now i don't know from where to start...
well, first...regarding my weight .. i surely hope that  it will go up a bit, cuz even when i weighted 52kg i looked as i have 45  and size 6 was loose for me... i  guess it has sthing to with very active lifestile (working 8am-4pm, studying till 10-11 pm and running around in between) and yoga (important part of my life for 10 years now) .. so at the beginning of raw my body was already extreamly lean  and athletic ... but enought about that, i'll try to eat more bananas ( i eat 2-3 daily) and sweet, more dense fruit - hope that would help ...
i'm so glad for your daughter karen  smiley it's great when you can start sthing healthy early in your life... it makes you start thinking and living more profound and with much more consciousness about our planet and things around you... fantastic  afro
...missg tnx sooo, sooo much for your  post that realy  touched my  hart deeply... it's so nice to read about someone elses revelations and adventures conected to a place that means a lot to you too... yes, dubrovnik is realy something, and people often fell in love in the old city and all that summer atmosphere... it has that something and just get's into your heart   smiley i used to go there every summer  as a kid... (i'll always remember it for my first summer love rolleyes )...i haven't been there for a long time but i've heard they did realy good work in reconstruction...

anyway.. tnx a lot to all of you, once again
must run (or i'll get blisters on my fingers )  afro

If you can find some whole red lentils they are very nice Fig. I haven't been able to buy them but i do buy a crunchy combo that has them in it. I sprouted some Quinae (forgot how to spell it!) you know the stuff pronounced kee-wah, it did really well, my daughter and hubby had it for lunch today in their salads, both liked it and it gave them a 100% raw lunch.

and Neet.... my daughter is 17. She had always appreciated wholesome healthy food..........the boys in our family think we are wierd......they can't believe how excited we get about a great piece of fruit or a fabulous new recipe we have just put together...... then at the dinner table as my 15 yr old son tries ever so hard to eat well to clear his skin it becemes blatently obvious that those that are raw have a clear complexion!!!! He is getting the idea and trying lots of new things.......it's great.

better go..... the hordes are getting hungry!!

Hey welcome back Pea. Good that you had a great vacation and the place sounds marvelous. Bet neet would love to share in those figs too.

I of course wondered where you were, but I am so happy that you re-found paradise.

Good luck with the study.
