Hi everyone - Sascha is a lovely lady we met at the November class - some of you will know her from the Brisbane Picnics too. She's at Tree of Life right now doing a three month internship and is sharing her experiences with us via email. I have permission to share them here - so enjoy and look forward to the next installment.

Feel free to comment and say hello here.

Tree of Life is Gabriel Cousins healing retreat in Arizona USA. It's a fabulous place I'd like to visit one day soon too!

---------------------------
From Sascha T

"Well my first week at the Tree of Life is just about over, what an amazing experience it has been!!!

We have been welcomed by the community, everyone is so caring and loving.  Perfect strangers hug you when they meet you, they are so kind and generous.  We begin each day with yoga, then straight to breakfast which is always a stunning array of local produce organically grown on the property with love and peace.  Before each meal we bless the food, the people whom grew or prepared it, the world, the planet, it's universal conscinousness, we are one.  Lunch is the main meal of the day, we do blessings prior to the serving of food.  After dinner which is a lighter meal we head to meditation as the sun goes down, then after that to temple for meditation or chanting.  Followed by a hot tub or sauna, or what ever you choose.

Working in the kitchen is a delight, consciousness, presence, love is our mantra, we pour love into the food as we prepare it, as we gather it from it's respective sources.  As we wash the dishes we are blessing them for the important role they play in nourishing the community, as we nourish ourselves we nourish the community and further more globally, with our love and intent we feed the world.

We live in dorm style accomodation, there are 10 live food apprentices and then there is the garden apprentices, we have 4 girls in our room, it's light, airy and spacious.  We feel asthough we all have our space and we all love our room. It's funny because 3 of us travelled down from Tuscon Airport together, and when we got here we had been assigned the same room???  Divine sycroncity:)  Some of the rooms sleep 2 and others a maximum of 4.

The property is huge, we walk everywhere, i've seen the real road runners, red sparrows, squirrils, hawks, plus many other birds.  There are mountians surrounding the property and all climbable, i'm climbing Red Mountian (which is the mountian you see in the backdrop of Dr Cousens photos) on Thursday, it will take approx 1.5hours.  Oh my god I was out in the sun today and it was 50 degrees celcius and it didn't even feel that hot, more like 30 degrees, the dry heat of the desert is so different.

I have been to a couple of sessions with Dr Cousens, we are able to sit in on his Arizona Live Sessions when he does the live broadcast, also he has a weekly questions an answer session for 1.5 hours where we can ask both nutritional and spiritual questions.  You learn so much during these times, he is so wise, and has research to back up everything.

This is an environment where we share and norish eachother, we are greatful for the abundance of likeminded people, lightworkers we have here sharing the experience, there are many people her doing seva, which is to be of service, it's unpaid work.  The beautiful thing about this place is everyone wants to be here, everyone wants to participate and share with the shift in global consciousness.  We meditate on world peace, every day, to lift the vibration of the planet.

If each and every person decided to ask questions instead of sitting there and accepting what we are told, people would be more informed and better able to make those important decisions, regarding nutrition, spirituality and conscious living.  My eyes are wide open as is my heart, for I am home:)  I'm learning so much on every level each day, it's not only about the food, although the food is gastronomically amazing and stunningly presented, there are so many choices, it's fresh, organic, mostly grown on site, sprout houses, gardens...  all the water is reverse osmosis.  The dishes we prepare are beyond our imagination, i'm taking down recipies each day as we make modifications and we have received a copy of the recipies used for the 14 day menu cycle.  Each recipe changes depending on the produce available on that day.  It doesn't feel like work, it's a joy to rise with the sun, climb the hill to the cafe (gets the blood flowing), you finish the day rejuvenated, full of energy and greatful for the loving interactions you have just had. It's hard to put into words the feelings and emotions, unless you are here, you will never know.  This is the most amazing experience of my life, now I feel asthough i'm living!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone considering doing this program, I would say do it NOW, what are you waiting for, set your intention and make it your reality.  It is better than I could ever imagined!!!!!!!!!!  There's so much i've missed, it's time for me to go and get my green juice before I do a massage:)

Well I hope you are all happy & well, I would love to hear your news...

With love & gratitude
Sascha:)

PS: I sent this out on Sunday, didn't have an email address saved for you, so will save this one.  Hope the picnic is fanastic, will be thinking of you all, with love & blessings Sascha:)"

From Sascha:

"Hi everyone,

Wow it's so hard to believe another week has gone by!!!  I'm so much more at home here, meeting loads of amazing people and learning of their journeys.  It's been a huge week here, so much learning and absorbing the vibe.  It's very warm, approximatlely 50 degrees celcius daily, it's amazing that at this temperature it's much more comfortable than 35 degrees celcius of humid heat.

I have been making some amazing dishes in the last week, we are encouraged to use our own creativity which is just fantastic. we had an instance where something we prepared the evening before fermented overnight, so rather than it being an issue we made another dish using the already prepared ingredients, it was absolutely divine and everyone loved it.  So out of something which appeared fruitless came something so lovely looking and very tasty.

I'm getting into all the superfoods and greens, we are encouraged to take suppliments to cleanse and replenish our bodies after years of abuse through eating non organics and consuming dairy & meat etc.  I had my first colonic last week, I won't go into details, and I have to say 'wow' why didn't I do that before.  It was an unusal experience, once you get over the inital embarrasment, it's quite pleasant.  It's definately something I will do again, before I leave and continue to do so after I move on from here.

I'm thinking of doing 'Whole Person Healing' which is a 3 day program where you are fasting, then eating certain foods then having blood samples taken to see the effects on your body.  This is to find out the best type of foods for you, as we all have different types of nutritional requirements and digestion.  It also looks into how you process suger, as in natural sugers from fruits.  Heavy metals from pesticides and processed foods are other things they look into then they create an optimal plan of the best foods for you, the best suppliments, and an optimal way of life.

I have actually been driving, yes I know scary considering that they drive on the right hand side of the road here.  I went  into town and dropped off one of the girls cars at the mechanics, then picked it up again in the afternoon.  Then took a bunch of friends down to Nogales which is the town that borders Mexico, we did some shopping and saw a movie.  We had a fantastic time, and for me driving on the right had side is not that hard really, you just have to remain in the moment.  So that means I have a bit more freedom if I want to go somewhere:)

Well I have started this email so many times and have never finished it so as incomplete as it is, i'm sending it to you now as we are already over half way through another week, so with love and gratitude heres week two.

Blessings
Sascha:)"

From Sascha:

"Oh my god it's so hard to believe it's the end of week 3 for me, time is of no relevance here, it's not a topic of discussion.  Our days revolve around our shifts in the kitchen, classes and other activities such as yoga, meditation and temple.  If it wasn't for knowing what time to turn up in the kitchen on each given day we would only be able to distinguish with the weekend as we serve brunch and dinner opposed to breakfast, lunch and dinner weekly.

Well this has been a very interesting (have paused for a very long time to remember the events of Monday, through Wednesday... still thinking...) as I didn't get last weeks email off until Thursday I think I covered my road trip to Nogales, yes I drove all the way there and back on the right side of the road, scary stuff, turning corners at intersections is frightening until you get used to it.  We all got home safe and unscathed, tired from power shopping and laughing so hard during the movie.  We saw RV about a 'typical American family' and their road trip which was fraught with disaster and unconditional love at the same time.  Robin Williams was the dad so you can imagine how funny it was.  It's more of a kids, family movie, however being here we are so much more sensitive to media etc so we chose the cutest movie of all to warm our hearts and ensure we didn't feel overwhelmed or violated.  (It probably sounds really funny coming from me, not that I could watch violence or blood & guts before however I certainly loved action & drama, did I have more tolerance or was I just desensitised to mass media before???)

On Friday Kim, Rose-Marie and I were rostered off and decided an afternoon shopping in Nogales could be fun and maybe see a movie, recently a movie theatre was built and they are still finishing the parking lot, so very very new... Anyway Kim & I decided to climb the mountain behind the Tree of Life, I think I’ve mentioned it before, Red Mountain which I have affectionately renamed 'Big Red.'

The adventure begins...  It was a stunning spring morning in Patagonia, the alarm went off at 5am, I thought it was Kim’s, she thought it was mine and turns out it was Mea's, she was getting up to go on shift.  Anyway we got up and got ready to head out on our  hike, unaware we had risen an hour earlier than planned.  We packed our back packs and hiked up to the cafe, grabbed an apple each to eat at the top whilst enjoying the magnificent view.  We jumped the gate to the national park, hiked through and met with the dried up river bed which was our path to the top, surrounded by native trees, cactus and brilliantly coloured birds, we joyfully began to negotiate the boulders, climbing logs and scrambling up rock faces.  We stopped for regular water breaks and to take in the view, marvelling at the sights below, we were up there with the birds, being here for this time we are now used to the altitude so the walk wasn't too taxing on our respiratory systems.  I took many photos which at some point I will download and share...

Back to the story... As we made our way up, we shared many stories from our childhoods, fears, and what brought us to be here... We made it to the top, sat for some time admiring the stunning view of Patagonia and beyond, birds flew below us, we were able  to watch over them as they circled the shiny blue sky.  It was hot already, probably 30 degrees Celsius, that’s very comfortable dry heat here, approximately 745-8am, we finished our apples, so decided to head back down...

We continued to discuss our future opportunities and plans, what we wanted out of life and our personal goals, relationships, children, love...  think we just about covered it all.  (diverging slightly)  It's truly beautiful to think you can fly half way around the world and come to a place like the tree, meeting a whole bunch of new people and within a week or so you have forged loving & positive relationships with so many people and they feel like your family.  We are so open an honest here, we allow our vulnerability to show, we nurture each other and support each other, I just wanted to share that with you, not that I didn't have that with some people before, it just is here...

Anyway... we were hiking down the rocks, getting a bit tired and wary, we had been walking for about 3 hours by now, we stopped for a water break, as I went to sit on a rock, I went straight over it, I managed to save myself from injury and had a wonderful laugh a my miscalculation:)  We continued, with me letting out a giggle each time I remembered the experience.  As I jumped down quite a steep lot of rocks onto loose shingle, I slid sideways on it and went over on my left ankle, it was painful, I just picked up my leg did a quick healing on it, just a minute or so then put weight back on it and kept walking, it was fine, there was no pain or swelling.  We continued down the trail & came back onto the track (still shingle) we were having a great time, sun on our faces, a light breeze and the prospect of being 15mins away from the cafe when my legs just went out from under me and I landed flat on my back, my bag broke the fall and I lay there laughing so hard, it was absolutely hilarious:)  Eventually I got up with a few extra grazes on my elbows, dusted myself off and walked back to the gate, over it and to the cafe unscathed.  We felt amazing when we got back what an accomplishment, even with my mishaps, which proved to be down right amusing, we had such a fun time and did the round trip in 3 1/2 hours.  You know it's hilarious to me as I have never really been a clumsy person, so the fact I had 3 incidents is beyond hilarious:)

Fast forward... we had some breakfast, hiked back down to the dorm (15-20 min walk away), I had a shower, put a load of washing on, grabbed a couple of kombuchas (a drink made with the kombucha mushroom, fermented with sugar, which makes a sweet as natural soda which has healing and restoring qualities) for us to relax with, yummy.  I lay down on my bed to savour the moment you first put your feet up after heavy duty exercise, ah.  Then my ankle began to throb & swell and within 15 minutes I was in so much pain & could barely walk.  Fast forward... Saw the nurse, had it strapped, got natural aspirin (willow bark) and creams then got carried to my room and slept for hours.  I’ve been resting ever since, when it happened and throughout the painful experience I kept saying "it's happened for a reason" then as I was coming out of the bathroom, I mentioned to whomever was acting as a human crutch I kept saying to myself on the hike, "I SURENDER" and indeed I did, it was one of those moments where you are filled with so much clarity!  I found the experience to be so very informative about how the body will react and go into survival mode.  I knew before we left, if anything happened, it was only us who could get ourselves out of it, so my body waited until I lay down and was fully relaxed before it produced any pain or swelling, now how amazing is that.  You hear survival stories all the time, however it's not until you experience it for yourself do you really understand.

Anyway I have watched a number of foreign films & march of the penguins (it was a stunning doco, magnificent cinematography, magical piece of work.  I've had the time to sort out my homework folder (huge task), sort out dates where I can head to Texas and finally catch up with Lara (a beautiful friend from Melbourne whom I haven't seen in about 6 or 7 years), I've read books, magazines, had amazing chats with all the beautiful souls who have come to check on me, deliver my meals and assist in any way they can.  I am truly blessed to have all these generous people around me, all the hugs and smiles have been so uplifting.  Being in this situation has taught me a lot about myself, it's been humbling to ask for help to get to the bathroom, it wasn't long before I found a broom to lean on, however the important thing was when I needed it, I would ask!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Now I’m trying my best to stay in my room and rest, it's been a blessing to have the time to get some things done, however I kind of miss going outside and walking in nature.  Well if I keep healing the way I am I will be back in the kitchen in the next day or so, even if I have to sit on a stool & chop, I will be there:)  It has given me a wonderful opportunity for me to practice grace:)

Well that’s about it from me, that's another week of my journey for you to digest.  I have to say I am so touched at the emails I have been receiving, I am so happy so many of you are sharing in this adventure with me, your words are inspiring and you are in my thoughts, know that when you think of me, generally I do know, and with that...  know we are all connected, each and every one of us for we are one collective consciousness, so love each other, be kind to strangers for they are of you and if that’s too profound for you, store it for a rainy day:)

With immense love and gratitude

Another update from Sascha:

"Well hello all you beautiful people:)

Another week has sped by at lightening speed, much like the huge winds we are experiencing here this morning, whirlie winds everywhere, it's quite magical with mother earth clearing old stagnent energy from the planet.

It feels asthough i've been here for months already, you know when you truely feel asthough you belong somewhere and are so happy and settled in your life and your contribution to the community and further more the planet.  My life prior to this journey seems like such a far off memory, so many people have asked me what it is I want to do after leaving the Tree, my first response is, I don't want to go and the second is i'm open to the possibilities of the universe and for now I have no set path or plans.  Then yesterday clarity bubbled up from within and my desires of what I would like to create came to the fore.  When I got here I set the intention, that I would receive clarity on what it was I wanted to do, other than travel for the rest of my life, to every country in the world.  The flame has been ignited, I shall fuel it with love & see where the light shines.

I was so keen to get back into the kitchen and express my creativity & joy about being in that space after my ankle healed.  Here at the Tree of Life, health & wellbeing is the most important thing, healing and rest is required after any trauma, physical or emotional.  Here the whole person is honored, so emotional trauma is as important as physical.  We are also encouraged to take time out from the kitchen if we are tired or lacking energy, sit outside in the sun and rejuvenate on all levels, prior to returning to the kitchen.  With the dharma of the kitchen and centre being so focused on the community and our wellbeing, our productivity is very high.  We prepare the food with consciousness, presence and love, these are the vibrations we hold, well anchoured within our hearts, so there is an abundance of love & nutrition for all those who consume what we have lovingly prepared.  Due to there being no cooking involved the enzymatic value is so great as the food is still alive.  If this seems a bit bizare or ott, just acknowledge it and let it go, save it for a rainy day or whatever you feel like doing.  If interest has arisen, let me know and I can forward some reference material.

Weekly we are spending time in the garden to connect with the earth and truely apprciate where our food comes from.  It's a magical time, where we get to plant, water or harvest the fruits of the earth.  The time we get to spend in the garden is so enriching, something about the dirt beneath your toes as you scratch the surface away & dig deeper below that external layer, it's during this time we can truely honor where we came from.

Well I could go on and on for ever, belly dancing class starts in 25 mins and I would like to prepare for that.  So this week I will keep it brief as this email was started on sunday and save in drafts until now.  So I hope you enjoy and until next time, with love & gratitude

Sascha:)"

Another update from our friend Sascha!

"Hello all you beautiful people,

Well all is amazing in my world!!!  It's been a full on and hectic week or two here at the tree...  We have had David Wolfe here, due to the masters program which is on at the moment.  He did a 3 hour lecture on raw consciousness related topics, he is such a charismatic and intelligent person, he mesmerises you with his intense passion for life & consciousness.

"Saving the world is the only cause worth dying for."  We have also had extra lectures from Dr Cousens, over and above our regular Q & A sessions.  We get to sit in on some of the Masters classes, it's very intense, he covers a lot of topics and answers very thoroughly.  I had some time to speak with him today and got some fabulous advise on specific enzymes and other supplements I should be taking, as I don't have a gall bladder my body has difficulty processing fats, it's become so much more apparent as I continue to detox, it's something I will be able to manage with diet and enzymes. As we detox all the heavy metals & pesticides and dead food from our systems, we become so much more sensitive.  The way we were designed, rather than oblivious to how food makes us feel & deadened by dead food.

On Saturday last week I had an instance last week where a couple of 3lb buckets of organic coconut cream arrived at the cafe, we have a desert class every Friday & Saturday afternoon to prepare the deserts for the next day as we serve brunch on the weekend followed by desert.  We all went nuts over this divine, decadent coconut cream adding carob, cacao & goji berries to the mix or dipping fresh strawberries in it, oh my god it was magnificent, sensory overload then we all got belly aches, not used to the fat, especially me with no gall bladder, I had to go out for air & walk around for 20 mins, 2 hours & 3 digestive enzymes later a few of us finally got some comfort whilst laying on our bedroom floor, needless to say, when coconut cream is mentioned most of us let out a slight groan, it may take a while to get a taste for that stuff again.

Spent time in the community garden last week, got to dig a meditation garden, our service to the Patagonia community.  That was part of our 2 hour class time for the garden, we had so much fun and got so much joy from spending the time together and being able to see what we created in such a short period of time.  We're looking forward to seeing it all planted out & flourishing with life.

I've had my first vitamin B12 shot last week, they generally last a month, I only took it as a precautionary measure, not for anything in particular, it kept popping into my head to get one & I honor that within myself.

I've been doing massages, trading with others for Reiki, massage & a Brazilian bikini, oh and money of course.  It's so much fun with all the trading we do here, with anything we have including our time, it's all about the community, what benefits the community.

Went to Tuscon last week, we left with our lunch boxes overflowing with lush salads & nori treats... hung out on forth street, kept running into people we knew, now that's freaky considering how big that city is...  Saw the Divinci Code, loved it!  Did a bit of shopping and visited all 4 health food shops (again), had enough of Tuscon now, the pollution is repressive.  Such a stark contrast to the stunning clear blue skies here, it's hazy & grey in there, the air is thick and I always come home with itchy eyes & a runny nose.

Taking loads of photos of the food & people, I’m creating a disc of all the recipes with pics from the kitchen & garden to give to each person when we finish here, it's my gift to share with them.  It's a huge job to get it all set up, 3 sets of recipes or menus per day, that makes for a whole lotta paper, which we do recycle of course:)

Collecting a load of world music while I’m here, there's such a wide selection to choose from, we always have beautiful & funky music playing in the kitchen which keeps the vibrations up and sometimes something to sing along to:)

Shanti kidnapped me today (started this email Tuesday) and took me to Mexico.  We had soooo much fun, it's like a different world the moment you cross the border, I took a couple of pix however it's really hard to get the feel without being there.  It was really fun dealing with the shop owners, talking them down to get what we wanted, I’ve never had the guts to do it before and nothing can stop me now.  I'm organizing a trip in the next week or so, take a bunch of the girls over for an adventure, minus the Tequila of course, which many a shop keeper offers you when your in the store.

I am bringing such a huge selection of books home with me, i've been ordering it up with Natures First Law, taking advantage of the generous discounts & Amzon.com are processing a huge order for me, my library will be over flowing with health stuff.  I have many talks from David Wolfe and others to keep the energy going when I get home.  Planning on doing a 21 day juice fast when I get back which will be an amazing completion to this current journey, I will be able to meditate, do yoga, listen to talks & read all these amazing books.  I'm so filled with information right now it will be awesome to be able to share it with you, if your interested when I get back.  We watch movies and docos here which make you very aware of the consumerism that goes on in this world, the degradation of soil & the food supply.  'Supersize me' is only the tip of the iceberg, there's so much information out there if you take the time to look and I’m hoping to get my hands on some copies of the docos too, awareness of what is happening to our race & our planet is soooo important right now.  It's time for people to wake up to what's happening in our world, if we need to make changes and shift the consciousness into awareness.  It is us who are destroying this beautiful planet with our acid stomachs and acid thinking, wake up people become aware of how your attitudes and actions affect the planet.  It all starts with one choice, one change, one shift in consciousness, that being your own:)

Well it's now Wednesday & time to get this email off before another week fly’s by.  It's funny here, time flies by so fast, yet it feels although I’ve been here for sooo long... paradigms of time...

More lectures for the next two days with Dr Cousen’s which is super exciting, so much to digest, wish I had a digital recorder to get it all down, he lets us record the lectures which is really wonderful.  I've just got enough time to race up to yoga, so I hope all is well in your world, may your days be filled with light & understanding and remember we always have the power to
choose:)

With love & gratitude
Sascha:)

From Sascha:

"Hello and welsome to the adventures of Sascha:) (he he)

It's been another hectic week, full of fun excitement and adventure...  We have had more classes with Dr Cousens this week, expanding the awareness & consciousness beyond it's previous parameters.  His knowledge is delivered in a scientific yet humble manner, he provides complex information with all the data you could imagine to support it then simplifies it even more with a 'story.'  The classes are generally 3 or so hours long, the store here does a roaring trade on raw chocolate and raw bars when we break to strech our legs or visit the rest room.  It's intense, I take notes along the way, mental notes and the feeling of the overall message.  It's magical to know I will always remember this time in my life where I had all these amazing resources at my finger tips and took full advantage of the opportunities which have been presented.

I've had the last two days off which has been interesting to say the least, Thursday I went inward on a very deep level, I pottered around, got a whole lot of reading done (got millions of books to get through), writing, washing and a lecture (satsang) with Dr Cousens.  Friday I had breakfast, did a massage, headed down to Nogales for some shopping for a couple of hours, then over the mexican border for some culture, we walked for hours, crossed at about 1ish and came back over 7ish, don't know how many times we were asked if we were movie stars... it's a good laugh and we had sooooo much fun!  We had lunch (salad & lime water) and this cool restaurant, which was partially built into a cave, thankfully Emily spoke spanish which made life very easy, Friday night there is crazy, everyone comes into town, the boy racers do the main street with their doof doof music, in their beaten up trashed out cars, very amusing.  There are open air markets and the stuff there is so cheap, until you hit the tourist strip then everything is inflated, ask the price, then offer them half, if they start with the oh lady... you movie star lots of money... walk off then they offer a decent price, it's soooo funny and I really got into it:)

We have had a bit of monsoon rain here this week, they had no rain through winter, so it's a blessing to get some now.  Being so rare some of the staff we out there dancing and chanting while it poured down, came in abruptly when it started to hail, just small stuff, not like the golf ball sized stuff in Queensland.

'What the Bleep do we know' #2 is out here 'Down the rabbit hole' so i've ordered a copy of both 1 & 2, the rabbit hole is being released to DVD on August 1st, woo hoo!  I'm loving being able to have things shipped here so easily, order it and it arrives the same week, no wonder the US is turning into an online buying nation, it's soooo convenient.

Well, i'm about to go have another cranial sacral treatment, it's awesome stuff and it's something i'm looking at studying, it's a transformational modality, so I had better go get organised for that:)

With love & gratitude
Sascha:)

PS: Calvin, I hope you're all recovering from the accident, sending Troy loads of healing energy:)

Cath, congrats on the engagement i'm soooooooooooooooooo happy for you, details girl!!!

Lara, can you believe it, this time next week we'll be hanging out together... can't wait:)

Dorin, how's the trip to Germany?"

From Sascha:

"Well hello beautiful people,

It seems like soooo long ago I sat down to write my last email to you all, time flies by here...  Well so much as been going on and as our apprenticiship draws to an end, there is so much happening and on the agenda.  We still have the masters students here, Arizona Live starts in a week, our menu days, chef days and demo's are coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Menu days are where we liase with the chef on the planned menu and take over the basic running and execution of the shift that day, thats in prparation for our chef days, where by the chef becomes an apprentice & the apprentice the chef and the kitchen is theres for the day.  It's our opportunity to run our own show for the day, try out new recipies, really it's our day to do whatever we want & to shine.  My days not until the 6th July, i've not planned anything as yet and in my true style since i've been here I may just walk into the fridges and decide on the day, what it is we will do.  I've become less of a planner and just take things as they come, some would call that flying by the seat of ones pants other spontaneous:)

Went to Texas last weekend to visit with my beautiful friend Lara and her family, it was a lovely trip , we got to spend 3 days together catching up on old times and creating new memories, her partner & child were absolutely delightful and it was a nice relaxing weekend.  Lara has an ion machine which is used in a foot bath to remove toxins from the body, I had one done a couple of years ago and you could smell the nicotine coming out of my body and I hadn't smoked in about 5 years, so they are a really non evasive way to remove toxins.  If you get a chance to use one, go for it, the results speak for themselves, I have a photo of the water from my treatment, it was like tar, eeewwww.  Ideally 5 sessions are required to really make a significant difference in your body, I had one and got noticable results.

Also there's a bodywork therapy here called 'Raindrops Therapy' which has been coming up for me, so when talking to Lara about it, turns out the natropath at her office does it, long story short (and many phone calls) she ordered the set of oils for me and all the other stuff I need for it and it's been shipped out for me to get started when I get home.  Various techniques and gifts if you will have been manifesting from me (that sounds so daft) ok, since i've been here, my healing abilities have good stronger and various, if, this is much easier to explain in person, it's been a journey of one thing would happen then another...  I am also keen to learn  cranial sacral therapy which I have had the pleasure of experiencing here, it's the most amazing natural therapy I have come across thus far.  I have been working with a healer for a month or so now, she has worked on me and taught me so much, i've been learning a bit of muscle testing too.  So who knows what I will be doing, there's so many choices, oh and I want to study Ayuvedic Massage & nutritional beauty, so yeah who knows...

We went to Shanti's house the other day for an aromatherapy class, it was so much fun, hanging out morrocon style in her front room drinking white & rose tea, smelling loads of beautiful oils and learing to blend them... I'm putting in an order this week as shes an aromatherapist and will blend oils for us, i'm really interested in the immune, travel & healing blends, especially with all the travel i'm doing.  It feels asthough i'm on and off planes all the time, even though I had been here for a couple of months before I took another flight... I guess it's because I know what's coming up too!

My head is swimming with stuff to write about, i'm burning cds (The power of now, Eckhart Tolle) and doing washing while I type this, some things never change.  I have major plans of what I want to do once I return home, there's so many things to do, it's hard to pick one to start with.  I'm planning to do a 14 day cleanse then a 21day juice fast (no I won't die or starve to death)  It's so benefical to the body to give the organs a rest, you only have to jump on the net to see what happens to the body when you allow it the freedom to cleanse, it's a bit freaky what happens to the body and how it distroys it's own cells in the regeneration process.  Check it out, but don't eat while your doing it:)

Been stocking up on books, suppliments, cleansing stuff, NCD natural cellular defence or ziolite for the removal of heavy metals from the body and other products not easily accessable at home. Have put in a large Natures first law order (david Wolfs company) taking advantage of the 40% discount, man i'm going to miss that  Will be getting all the mercury fillings taken out when I get home, it's one of the major sources of heavy metal poisoning along with pesticides.  Will have some amazing docos to share on the pesticide issue, the chem trails and how we are being poisoned everyday by the choices we make.  I thought I was healthy before and aware of what was going on in the world, oh my god, I was living in a bubble of unconsciousness, now i'm much more aware of what is happening and how we can improve our health by making better choices, what a journey:)

Well there's bound to be so much more to say, yep so much more however my washing will be ready & it's time to think about getting up to brunch... it's my day off today so just crusing and having a relaxing day, taking care of bits & bobs (where did that come from, the 50's?) oh well...

Wishing you all a wonderful week filled with magical moments, friends & joy.

With love & gratitude
Sascha:) "

From Sascha:

"Hello all you beautiful people,

Wow, another week has flown by at rapid speed, the time paradigm truely does exist here.  We feel asthough we have been here for years, although it's only been months, it's like time has a different space here, weeks feel like months, guess that's due to evolving at a rapid rate...

Another action packed week, the Master students left, not before our summer solstice party on the 21st, where we had so much fun, the guys got to participate in the 'miss tree of life' it was so enteraining, you've never seen a bunch of men so intouch with their feminine side, it was hilarous. Eric was from Byron bay & oh my go had us in stiches with his prancing around the stage in a bikini, he was such a natural, my stomach muscles hurt for a couple of days after, I laughed so hard.  We had other talent, a few people sang, there was a lovely legs competition, again featuring the men, however it soon turned from being about the legs to who could illicit the most screams from the audience, mostly women, by being the raunchiest (Eric) to the sexiest (Josh), AND we have it allllll on tape, so it could turn up on the Tree of Life website at any moment, ha ha.

Arizona Live or recently renamed Interdependence week is on, we again have so many people from around the world here to hear bot Gabriel Cousens and David Wolfe speak.  The first of many lectures was yesterday, followed by much chocolate eating, yummy.  David Wolfe is the king of cacao, he has his own chocolate religion (must eat chocolate anytime anywhere is the only rule), so a fun day was had by all.  He has been up at the cafe the last 2 days for meals, and i've managed to have a chat with him, running a couple of business ideas by him, which has had a very positive result.  So we'll have to see how it all comes together, so much to do:)

Have been doing so many massages in the last week & am booked up for next week too, it's amazing how the word has spread.  Still I get to share something with others & for 1.5 hours they are able to be totally relaxed and transported to another place, a happy place:)  It's my gift to the world (said in i'm king of the world fashion, tongue in cheek).  It's so exciting all the new techniques i'm learning, the 'Raindrop Therapy' oils have arrived, so now the fun begins.

We did our demos this week, where we get to prepare a recipe to an audience and on camera, my choice was 'Spinach & Strawberry Salad' quick and easy for anyone to prepare, they are going to be putting the on the website & in the near future, releasing a DVD to teach people how to prepare live food, so i'm going to become more famous(tounge in cheek again), there was a picture of me in the Arizona Daily a couple of weeks ago, an article was done on the cusine in the local area, so a reporter & photographer came out & a picture of a few of us standing in a circle doing the morning blessing of the food was the picture used. Of course, I had just woken up and was looking really attractive in yesterdays clothes & yesterdays hair... needless to say I didn't rush out to get a copy.

Shabbat was fun on Friday night, it's a ceremony to celebrate the end of the week, loads of meditation & dancing, the focus is on peace of the planet.  Gabriel also does shaktipat which is awakening the kundulini, people described all sorts of experiences, mainly heat at the base of the spine as the energy is activated, mine was more of a 3rd eye expansion, with energy flowing out the top of my head, back to source.  It was pretty powerful & amazing, worth the wait.

As the apprenticeship draws to an end, there is sadness that is is soon going to be time to leave here, this place is a magical space where magnificent unfoldings happen, where the impossible becomes possible.  It will always happen in the form you least expect, just goes to show miracles do happen.  This has been the best experience of my life, to have been able to live here and immerse myself in the community & all it stands for.  If my visa situation would have allowed, there was a position as a 'Live Food Instructor' here for me, next time maybe.  All the apprentices have become so close, we all have amazing plans for the future, some of us will be crossing paths & working together in the next year or so, others we will keep in touch via email.  You know, you can really get to know someone soooooo well in 3 months, especially when your sharing a room & work space with each other, some of the friendships we've made here will continue for the years to come.  Living a lifestyle and being present in a program such as this changes you in sooooo many ways, too many to list, some you are aware of & some you not, it's not until your out in the unreal world do you truely understand what it is you have been a part of and where in the future it will take you. This really is grounbreaking stuff, if you could impliment portions of the model here into schools or life in general, the world would be a much better place.  You have to see it to beleive it, the children are so adorable here, raw children are so balanced and creative, they don't have all the pollutants such as refined suger & saturated fats corsing through their bodies.  Before we fed the children of today processed foods containing 'additives' there was very little ADD, ADHD & hyperactivity, if none.  It's all the processed foods & additives which cause the behaviour problems.  Eat in a day, exactly what you feed your child, I mean exactly, from the sugery cereal to the peanut butter & jelly, to the snacks... see how you feel, monitor your moods, THEN you will understand how the food of today pollutes the body & the mind.  There are conclusive studies on this stuff, raw kids don't crave the negative attention, they want positive attention, they are able to effectively communicate with adults & due to their nature you want to communicate with them.  If the future rests with our children then why do we continue to poision them with processed food and then numb them with computers & television?  Food for thought huh!  Maybe do some research on the net as to what's in those additives, if you knew you would never feed it to your child, do your homework, then make your choices:)

With so much love & gratitude to you my friends, know that you are in my thoughts & in some way we will connect soon.  Each and every one of you helped me to come to this space in some way, so thank you for playing your part in the grand scheme of things, anyway the show must go on, i've had my 5 minute curtin call & have to go and attend to this play called life:)

Blessings
Sascha:)
