hee hee,i think it is my duty to eat all the food grown in your garden Zact01..mmm yum...i think eating raw and organic is worth paying extra, cos if you eat the second rate crud you will end up paying more than Zact01's 2cents worth,lol...in my humble opinion....

I think I need to read some updated material on food combining. All the stuff I read says that you should never ever ever ever eat fruit with anything other than fruit. Ever! However I recently found out that an aquaintance of mine is in fact a raw lady and she happily blends her fruit and greens and wow, she is de-aging. She looks younger every time I see her. Awsome or should I say Rawsome... hehehe.

I make them every morning for my fussy boys...... their favourites are always pinapple, orange (juiced before adding to the blender, make sure you have no seeds, this makes it bitter), this is the base and then add greens, at first i only put in cos lettuce and sunflower sprouts, they have gone from having a small glass to a big glass and going for seconds!

To the pine/orange i sometimes add either apple or mango..... I find more than 2-3 fruits too much and my youngest finds banana to slimmy!..... Only kid on the planet that does not like banana i think.

Now they have them with kale, spinach, sunny sprouts and what ever else i can fit in the blender.

So, my advice is to maybe just try your fav fruit with a mild green...then go from there!

My fav's are one type of fruit(lots of it) and tons of green! - kale, spinach, celery, sprouts etc.

If there not sweet enough add dates or sultanas.....just remembered that's another thing I did at the beginning.

Good luck....keep trying they are one of the best things you can do for you health!

Victoria Boutenko talks about food combining and green smoothies. It's generally accepted that greens should be in their own category and do combine well with fruit! Combine away!

Even the hard core food combiners on the forum find that to be the case! Right Janita?

Cheers,

Mmmm, green smoothies. I'm downing one as we speak. Karen (I'm guessing that was you logged in as Sami by mistake, lol!) I really want to try a pineapple/basil smoothie but haven't yet. I think that would be REALLY good - have you ever tried it?

Hi FreedomB,

I tried your smoothie recipe on the first page of this thread and it's delicious! It's my first green smoothie that has fruit in it (I made one with all green vegies and it's not to be recommended if you aren't used to it!). Not only do I love it but my daughter and hubby do also. MMMM. The only change I made was to add a handful of soaked almonds.

Thanks! xoxo

Hi Freedom,

I LOVED it! We had another today made from fresh orange juice, frozen pineapple, banana and a big heap of baby spinach. The only drawback? My hubby and daughter took most of it! LOL. Just happy to feed my girl healthy stuff.

Thanks again. Your recipe was the perfect starter.

i have gone boonta on the gs today, massively craving bananas just lately...i have whipped up 3 huge gs today in total i have consumed 3 litres of the green goodness-makes me a real green goddess*lol*...and i am so adoring white peach added in and i lick out my glass too Freedom, yum, hurts my tongue to try and get all the last dregs as my glass of choice is a massive 500ml wine glass....could go some blueberries, but can't see any of those little babies around....have had soo much green today,i feel so incredibly good...

had my lovely gs chilling nicely in the fridge this morning,in the huge glass, sitting snuggly(or so i thought) in the door of the fridge,my beautiful boy opens the fridge to put the last of his green juice in fridge for later, and *smash!!!!!!* there is my smoothie sitting all over the tiles ,green for as far as the eyes can see with the glass smashed to smithereens....
Nige was devastated...and kept apologising over and over...and rang me 2 hours later still apologising....all is forgiven, twas an accident..must admit though i had a nervous twitch or 2 when it first happened. rolleyes
