Hi Everyone,
I am just wondering where your best local fruit shop is?
I have an awesome fruit shop that sells top quality fruit, veges, nuts and seeds for great prices.
ie: some of todays shop included....
$1ea large pineapples (awesome flavour!)
$1kg lemons, onions and egg tomatoes
$3kg nectarines and peaches
$6 for a 10kg box of granny smith apples
$1 punnet cherry tomatoes
$1.50ea for large honeydew melons
$1ea dragon fruit (but they were out of stock Sad )
$2kg sultana grapes
65c/kg for carrots (very juicy)
$2.20 a 250gm bag for Australian 100% organic prunes and figs
$2 for a whole watermelon

Apart from the apples which were still really sweet and good enough for juicing, all the fruit and vege is ripe and top quality. (and the shop owners are just wonderful too!)
Needless to say, we're all rolling around tonight on a fruit salad high  cool
I would love to hear more about everyone elses favourite fruit shop  smiley

It sure is RawGreenGoddess,
The fruit shop is called Ollies and it's just outside Jimboomba (near Beaudesert) in SEQ.
We're very lucky here near the Gold Coast. There's no shortage of great fruit and vege bargains to be had.
I've heard though that one of the best places to buy great F&V is around Byron Bay/Mulimbimby(sp?).
I would like to hear if that's true or not Smiley

I'm still in Wollongong (sth of sydney) atm and try to eat mainly greens, but as far as fruit goes, there are 2 shops that nearly always have a "clearance shelf" of ripe/bruised fruit after 4pm which is just heaven for me.
The best shop is Grandma Rosies in Figtree if anybody needs it

Nana's 80c/kg, Watermelon 50c/kg and Organges 70c/kg this is basically the only fruit I buy unless it's organic because I don't have to eat the skins, and also it's so cheap and the quickest food around... faster as KFC in the long run!
I never buy greens, just grow everything in my garden so its bio-dynamic and eat seasonally.

My other main source of food is neighbours! If you've got a keen eye for fruit trees you'll pick up on many in your local area I'm sure. I've got many sources of Monsteria, Lilly Pilly's, Lemons, Mandarines, Dandelion, and heaps of edible flowers. The best place to look is often your local Botanical Gardens, just ask the curator what is edible.

Happy hunting fellow ramblers  cheesy
