Sunrise Airlie beach. Today is a good day to die!

So i thought i'd try some sungazing this morning. woke up at 6am, went down to airlie beach stood and gazed at the sun for 10 seconds then forgot that i hadn't taken my shoes off so i waited for a few minutes and did it again my missus made some comment about not being able to see and she toddled off to work. my son on the other hand was drawing in the sand and throwing not collecting sea shells. spoke to a friend of mine who was still drunk from the night before, he seemed to have a problem keeping his shorts up which was quite comical. i spoke to the happiest worker in the world who cleaned the bbq's with causic soda(lovely). and had a chat with a muso friend of mine who was on his morning walk. all in all a delightful morning.

now i don't know about the benifits of this practice, i read some pros and cons but i lived on the esplanade in adeliade for years and watched the sunset every night with a pilsner and a cuban(would of done more damage to my eyes than the sun) and never have had any problems with my eyes so i can see it from that perspective. cant say i'm with the whole breathairian gig(won't tell you my real thoughts on that) as they always seem to eat or drink something... HRM drinks buttermilk(and tea and coffee??) when offered so as not to offend, i wonder if he eats icecream when offered so as not to offend? and rasputin opps i mean jasmusin whatever her name is, well i wont go there as i met her personally and don't want a law suit  laugh

so all in all a happy first experience with the sungazing, oh i forgot to tell of my failed attempt at sunset last night, i rushed down to another spot last night at the required time but failed to include the mountains in my calculations and just missed it. anyways i'm sitting there and there was this golden cigar shaped object on the horizon which moved very slowly across the horizon  and stopped a few times, i took the obligatory fuzzy photos on my phone camera and was on my way. i thought i saw a reptilian at the bbq but it was just the local scam artist builder...

added 10 more seconds this morning, missed the sunset last night but i think i'll just aim for the sunrise. interesting how much clearer the sun looks at a 20 second gaze. saw i juggler i had met in byron  just a few weeks ago, was telling him the benefits of raw etc and he was quite open to the concept. he sungazed himself for a little bit, he recons he practices juggling every sunrise sunset. its amazing how many people are out here at 6.30 am, when i was in wa there were just a few and always the same people, i guess its the vibe here. caustic soda guy was happy at work on the bbq's. another beautiful day in paradise..

Great!!  I love Sun Gazing!  I find it so energizing.

I find myself drinking in the sunset more often than the sunrise.  The difference in feeling between the two is strong.  Yet I find both sunset and sunrise are both delicious experiences.

Moon Gazing, Fire Gazing and Candle Gazing are profound too...

What are you desiring to achieve with your Sun Gazing practice Oj1?

rolleyes  I like to draw my juicy attention to that dew sea Eye!

missbliss, i'm always looking for further improvement.. read this on the internet after listening to hrm on thebestdayever......"Some of the information I read about the effects of sungazing included: a decrease in irritability, anger and frustration; an increase in memory and immunity; not to mention bold claims of complete awareness and relief from all disease. Apparently (according to HRM) the brain is able to store solar energy, therefore creating the capability to access a larger percentage of our mind. through the practice of sungazing imagine utilizing over 50% of your brain."

so i thought if i could wring a few benefits from that list it would be cool... but i think the actual act of doing it has great benefits, spending time early morning with my kids as i do it, talking to who ever is around at the time and if i receive some of the above gifts then so the better. as i said in my previous post i am skeptical of breathairianism but then i was skeptical of raw food, but my skepticism of raw food was dashed once i experienced it... so new experience and new paths, testing beliefs, more joy! etc..

i've always had a love of the sunset and spent many many times staring at the sun at this time to no determent so i don't think it can harm me, so onward to the breach......

I found this for you and everyone else Les...:

In the rising sun we can see a symbol of the positive,
constructive expressions of life. Everything that advances,
rises, shines forth and develops fully is related to the
sunrise. Little by little you will feel this, but everything
depends on your faith and conviction. Depending on your
attitude, the sun will either become a presence for you that is
real, alive and powerful or merely remain a physical object, one
that gives you light and warmth, of course, but hardly more than
an electric light bulb or a stove.
When you look at the sun, try to become conscious of the truth
it represents. It will speak to you and become your friend, one
you can count on and lean on, for it has true power.
