What do you do to get rid of body hair?
Has raw caused your body hair to diminish, stay the same or get worser?

What kind of body hair? The fine downy stuff particularly on the face and arms getting thicker? Hair on head, hair on legs, etc?  I've never been very hairy, raw hasn't changed that.

If you're worried about too much hair, waxing followed by lemon juice for a few days afterwards on the waxed area really weakens the hair follicles, you only need to do it for a couple of days while the hair follicle is open after having the hair pulled out.  Vit C affects the hair bulb (it's why you don't often see Vit C eye creams and when you do they often include 'keep away from brows and eye lashes', and if they don't they should)

Raw has made no difference to my body hair.

I have always shaved my legs and under my armpits with soap and a bic razor. I only shave my legs in summer but I do my armpits every few weeks.

I have really hairy arms but I don't shave them. I use to get made fun of at school for this but it does not bother me now. It’s just a result of having an olive complexion and dark hair.

I use to take steroids for my Ulcerative Colitis and it caused me to grow a (rather fetching) moustache- not a good look for a woman!

So in the last few years, I have had to have my upper lip waxed every few months too. Most annoying and most painful.

lip wax - I only did it the once, to find out what my clients went through.  Never again.  I used to put tea-tree oil on the skin, wait a few minutes and then wipe the excess off and then wax as normal.  It is a mild anesthetic.

Try not to have it done the week before your period. More painful then.

I'm a woman, not a pre-pubescent girl, therefore I leave all my body hair intact. I feel no urge to remove that which naturally grows on me...i see it as an extension of natural hygiene. It's the patriarchy we live in that wants us all shaved, plucked, waxed and hairless. I'm not interested in conforming to society's expectations Smiley

I shave armpits, legs too.

I get the odd stray on my face, am mediteranean, cant be helped. I just pluck em when the little buggers reappear. I have noticed that a few of them are appearing less frequently, so might be a good sign.

Just that due to pcos im producing more testosterone. If i stick to raw 100% it lessens the hair growth but if i pig out my hair comes back.
I have enquired about laser and they said nothing can be done for pcos sufferers as its hormonal. Im yet to find some positive solutions. With all the money they put into resources you would think the scientists would know how to fix the problem.
Im happy to leave my body hair alone but where it grows is not normal for women. So it kind of wrecks my social/sex life.

I have just discovered an excellent little tip from the Raw Food Real World recipe book and it worked a treat.

I have always used soap or un-perfumed shaving foam to shave my legs and under my arms.

But following the suggestion, I rubbed melted (melted in the heat of the bathroom due to warm day) coconut oil on my legs and under my arms and then shaved. Then washed the hairs off using a face cloth under a warm shower. Then after patting dry, I put more coconut oil on.

Anyway, previously my skin would always get a bit dry from shaving with soap or shaving cream, but by using the coconut oil, my legs were as soft and smooth as silk. Even now the next day, they still feel great.

Using oil to shave with is a standard recommendation for men, it's just that most of them believe they need to use the shaving creams.  Most of the more expensive shaving options are oil and silicon - eg Dermalogica's shave oil - costs a lot for a tiny bottle but works well.  Then you take sensible extension to using non-expensive label oil and it works almost as well.........  The silicon does really help a bit.

Just be careful with using THAT much coconut oil, it's one of the major causes of blocked drains in India where it is used a lot.  People generally pour a kettle of boiling water down the drain after their shower to stop the build up of coconut oil.

I have tried organic moom wax and it is the best wax i have ever used and even better then salon waxes. The ingredients in it are simple so will try to make my own. It does not leave any red spots on my legs and my leg hairs are so thick they ahve started to thin out. It leaves the skin so silky and shiny and bare you would think i had laser. Also my hairs not growing back fast love it.
