Title: Fibromyalgia and raw Post by: veggiebek on Friday 19 October, 2007 Hi all,
Hope this is the right place to post this... I am new to the site and am seriously contemplating going raw as I have heard it might be good for my fms...I have been vegan and wheat free for 4years + now and will always be vegan, just wondering if anyone has any info regarding the connection between raw and fms? Thanks heaps, Bek Title: Re: Fibromyalgia and raw Post by: Michele :-) on Saturday 20 October, 2007 Hi.
WELCOME! You couldn't have come to a more supportive and friendly place. I don't have FMS but I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis and gluten intolerance, so I know a little about where you are coming from. I have read a lot of articles about FMS and raw and they have all been positive, from people having their symptoms reduce significantly, to completely disappearing. I guess for you, the only way to know for sure is to do it. -_- Reading this board, through all the archives and more current posts has been really helpful, and also googling RA, or in your case FMS, and raw foods. You will find so much helpful information. I am starting off slowly because I couldn't handful a fast and big detox. I have started juicing and making green smoothies which have been very helpful. Also I am adding anti-inflammatory foods such as ginger and pineapple into my diet. I have ordered the Buotenko books (they healed themselves of asthma, diabetes, RA, thyroid and heart arrythmias, nearly all auto-immune diseases by going raw), and a good recipe book. Maybe this approach would work for you, but most people find that 100% right away is beneficial, due to the addiction most of us have to cooked food. Good luck. I have no doubt that a raw diet is a huge step towards good and happy health! :cmon:  Love ~ Michele. Title: Re: Fibromyalgia and raw Post by: Jenergy on Saturday 20 October, 2007 Hi Veggiebeck. Welcome to the forum. I have not experienced Fibromyalgia. RawNaturopathJen has though and at the bottom of her posts there is a link where you can click to read her story. It's very compelling and strong. She was a source of inspiration to me when I first went raw and still is. There might be some information in there for you.

I think too that I will start of slowly, and perhaps have raw breaky and lunch and a cooked dinner for a while. I will still be cooking for my little one...and as I am looking at this long term I think its better to start of small. I shall have a look at the links you all suggested, and thanks again!
