Supplemental antioxidants do not replicate the benefits achieved by eating a variety of whole foods. No surprise there, however it's great to have scientific backing! I know of a guy who merely became sluggish when getting too much vitamins and things. If it were so important to get an RDA we;d be in some trouble. The body has a pooling effect . there may be various forms of adaptations that can take place in the way the body can process and utilize things but the fittest and greatest peformers in the world often had rather poor diets as far as the RDA and superfoods POV would see it .
I think you should have a look at groups like the Tarahumaras, Aborigines and the information on Pranayama , Maxalding, Tromp Van Digglen's fabulous story of survival to see how the bodies ability to utilize is perhaps the area most interesting. (for me that is) |
