Title: Bananas
Post by: Venus on Thursday 08 November, 2007
I was reading in a book, 28-day detox that bananas should be limited to one every other day! Being a mostly frutarian i find bananas very convinient and have sometimes had up to 3 bananas a day!!  Is it true this is not good and why? Thank You <3

I don't know. Doesn't Dr Doug Graham say bananas are the best food in the world and after a work out you could easily eat 15 in one sitting? I wonder what it is about them that your book thinks isn't good? Be interesting to find out.

3 only? Try 1.5KG per meal!

Well I just had 5 huge ones, and that was after 6 apples and a large salad with corn and avo in it for dinner...

Going to bed now so that I don't finish the rest and there are none left for the family in the morning.

As for your question, maybe that's just when doing that detox which should only be for the 28 days. But then if you read another book it will tell you to eat as many bananas as you like and that they are great for detoxing...

Do what works best for you.

Bananas have relatively high calories compared with other fruits so maybe the detox wants to limit calories to promote a gentle fasting effect. Also there are many other fruits with higher water content than bananas, and high water content foods can be good for detox as the water aids in elimination of wastes.

to me bananas are halway between bread and raw plant.

so in a transitional phase I do eat them, but if I could be without them I feel better.

I intend to become banana free in the future.

It is also not natural food in many climates and cultures... as it would never grow there

anyone can and has written a book..whatever we want to read, today, its in print..

detox diets work short term cos we stop puttting the gunk in..

me personally..im living a detox lifestyle. eating up to 60 bananas a day and doing the miles that give my lymph system the mega flush..running a marathon with sufficient water, rest, sleep, sugar...i feel so clean after that..

I have a love hate relationship to the banana.

they are beautiful and delish.  They give me energy too moreso then other fruits.  However, I find them hard to digest so I don't eat them all the time.  It feels like i'm overloading my body or something when i eat them...  and I feel like they expand inside my stomach or something like a piece of bread.
