Title: Making almond milk with juicer? Post by: cutecarrot on Sunday 03 February, 2008 Hi,
I am new to raw food! I just bought a new juicer (Lexsun) last week and have been making vegetable/fruit juice twice a day, morning and evening. How fun! Since I'm still new to raw food and especially this juicer, can anyone tell me whether or not you can make almond milk with this juicer (or any other nut milk)? (Lexsun is the same as Samson GB-9001) I have a blender but I bought it years ago and it was the cheapest model in the store (in other words, not very powerful). Thanks a lot! you could soak almonds overnight, put them through the juicer to make nut butter, and then use the nut butter to make almond milk in the blender. Title: Re: Making almond milk with juicer? Post by: melchoir_magik on Wednesday 06 February, 2008 hi cute carrot..I have just been soaking my almonds overnight. Then I drain off most of the liquid, put in blender. Once well blended,I place the mix in some muslin cloth and strain off the liquid. I find I have to add a little extra water when blending to increase the amount of milk but this method seems to do fine. Perhaps if the almonds were soaked longer they will retain more water. Ive been enjoying it immensely.

Thanks a lot for the tips. Sounds exciting! I will definitely try both. I would like to put almond milk in my coffee latte. I would like to cut off my dairy consumption so I've been using rice milk for 5 days now -- and so far I'm still trying to get used to the taste of non-dairy latte. Now I just have to find out where they sell RAW almond in Thailand! I'm still new to raw food. I'm now on about 50%-70% raw. Wahoo! |
