Spring is nearly here yaaay... We're so excited about this that we have decided to reduce the prices on two of our most popular books. 80 10 10 by Doug Graham and Green For Life by Victoria Boutenko. These book will be at greatly reduced prices until sold out! Have fun.
bp: yeah, give me them kids for a week and i will have em raw. i will submerse them into the raw world. show em where their meat, milk, fishes, eggs etc come from. show em what it takes to put blood on the table for dinner. show em the fruit forrest that was smashed down to create the rice paddy, wheat field etc. show em pictures of extinct animals cos of livestock, grain industry etc. let em watch earthlings again and again. drive it home strong. cos the average US child recieves about 10 000 food advertisments a year via media marketing.. so we gotta combat that with something real and honest.
kids are receptive at a young age. i read 'fast food nation' recently. it had a stat that said '80% of childrens dreams are about animals' thats why marketing has barney, big bird, telletubbies etc. as humans are wired to be vegan, and we can see this in kids that love to go to the childrens petting zoo. what kid is jumping the fence and biting into the goat or running over to the chook pen and guzz'ln eggs..exactly. but take the same kids to a fruit orchard and i have done this..its wonderful.
so what we do is show kids the TRUTH, instead of wrapping them in cotton wool and feed'n em cheese and egg sandwich THEN trying to change their diet when they are adults and have all the hang ups adults are known for....
lets get to the kids before total numbing talks hold. people say' you cant force those children to eat like you do!' my reply to that is 'what right do we have to feed em anything but the best? science proves it and raw plant nutrition has it.'
we all know genetics play a big role in our health and appearance. am i six food tall cos my mum feed me powered milk? no its cos my mum is 6ft tall. we share exactly the same shoe size. the plant is only as good as the seed..i aint gonna get blonde hair on my scalp. i wont grow more than a handful of hairs on my chest and have zero on my back. is that cos of my diet or genetics? having said that, we can all get better naturally. we can all achieve our natural best according to nature. i understand i would win more races if i was talking testostorone and ephidrine like most of the other riders. but im happy to push natures envelope, not the pharmacutical one.
i saw an elephant walking down the street the other day. in nature this would happen naturally. but in a cooked world we must force animals to come to us, cos we are out of touch with raw synchronicity. anyway, the elephant had wrinkled skin. anyone got any tips to make my elephant friends more 'magazine cover 'worthy?
the whole cosmetics industry is based on setting impossible standards and making people feel deficient or guilty for not consuming what they vomit. guess what industry buys most of the photoshop computer software technologies? its like the alcohol industry with their adverts of people having fun under the influence. we know its a scam and their is no 'party animal' just as their is no 'wrinkle free' mammal in nature.
and we all know that the face looks like that is truly healthy. give me a fat person at age 60 they will have less wrinkles than most at 20.
we must severly question the indoors lifestyle. how crazy is society when it says 'oh your 60 now, your out of the race champ, please take off your number and hand it over.' heck women are made to feel guilty for hitting 30 these days! lol!
can you see how these cosmetic industrys create dependency on their product by creating an impossible standard? where is the rock star in a wheelchair? the model with 3rd degree burn scars, the car advert couple that are dwarfs, the fitness model with one arm...
durianrider says life your live like nature intended and give these corporate scammers the big finger.
i put some new youtube stuff up today. search 'durianrider'.
the message mother nature enforces and i reinforce is only for those willing to take massive action. thats about .001% of the population. dont believe me? walk into any chemo ward or jenny craig and show em personal testimonies of people getting hardcore results with hardcore action. it will take you maybe a year of daily visits before you find someone that is willing to do 'WHATEVER IT TAKES'...
remember the saying 'a person will change their religion before they change what they eat..'
they say heart disease and cancer are the biggest killers..i say ignorance followed by apathy are the biggest killers in society today..
why is it that 811crew seem to have a 'kick ass' attitude..could it have anything to do with the fact that we are all athletes? that we know and live the fact that nutrition is affected by our daily movements. and athletes know that motivation comes from our languaging. ie :the better an athlete is, the better their positive self motivating talk.
the number of 100% raw vegans that i personally know have one thing in common..they are ALL excelling in their choosen athletic pursuits. be that personal and or competition based...they have fit, slim, defined bodies and know how to turn the worst into the best. they refuse to let circumstances control them. rather they control the circumstances...
i will be honest with you john, when i went to pubs at night, the next morning i woke up feeling really not myself. the toxins from the smokes affect brain function. you will be able to contribute more when your man enough to quit putt'n fags in your mouth. you can do it bro!
melb: no photo..oh.
bp: ok so we have a vegan society now, the outlook is better than a vegetarian one. and i agree that people should come to a heartfelt lifestyle thru heartfelt actions and COS ITS THE RIGHT THING to do, rather than fear of penalty, disease, cost, thrashed body etc. once i was training with a friend and she said 'he wouldnt cheat on me cos he know id kick his ass' and im like 'great, so your with a guy that would cheat but is scared of you..., best you find a guy that wouldnt cheat cos he believes ITS NOT RIGHT'...' 10 years on, 2 kids later, my friend is starting to agree with me..
lots of crew in the world are vegan cos of religious beliefs. and ive had a few vegansexual (only dates fellow vegans) friends say they wouldnt date a religious vegan cos they dont have the true intensity of a vegan that is vegan cos its the right thing to do rather than motivated by fear...
so yeah, bp: durianriders fruitopia involves everyone being 811rv by personal beliefs forged on personal conclusions..thats not to much to ask for a society is it?lol!
da sachman: what is most valued to me? my health. cos without that im not on the planet, or im not fully alive and i cant give what i can give when my health is priming. and at the same time i will soak up emr's on computers to allow myself to contribute, etc. riding 1200km in 50hours probably aint the best thing for my adrenals. but it gets a message out. so we have to sit down and work out what we are trying to accomplish and how to maximise efficiency...
the following is off topic..
each day i go out training in the morning here i pass a big table full o meat. things are different in thailand. the meat industry is more raw. sure they still wrap it in plastic so consumers dont have the reality of blood on their hands or clothing but the meat stalls are open air. big slabs of murdered offerings with flies buzz'n and slaughterhouse smells in the air. makes me think what toxic perfumes they use back home to keep the smell of death covert... anyways, i see meat eating motivated by fear. people get suckered in on tv with adds of a 10kg plate of spinach or dancing butchers that fit the typical australian male stereotype, ie doubled chin, troubled gut and bubbled butt. they dont want to 'label' themselves as a vegan or vego for 'fear' of being isolated(isolation comes from within crew). same crew use labels everday and in everyway to describe where they live, what they drive, eat, wear, watch, listen etc.
the fear mongering continues into science with hype on protein, iron, b12 etc. and we see that SCIENCE PROVES ITS ALL FALSE!
so we see the ignorant still consuming animal products and motivated by fear to do so. in the raw world we have the primal diet, paleo diet etc. hyped up by a hollywood script writer named aajonus vonderplanitz. ive read his stuff and the dude can tell a superb story! i like the one how we tried fruitarianism and almost died. he decided to fast till the death but then a coyote killed a rabbit and fed it to him. he put on 50kg of muscle with no exercise and 'committed to eating at least 70% of my diet raw for ever' (page 48, we want to live)
im not sure if this happend before or after he nearly died from consuming death cap mushrooms. but either way we have another cult started by someone that aint even raw himself. he recomends eating white bread with raw unsalted butter. but his diet is better than mcdonalds for sure and people are going to get results. but i call it the 'mcRAW' diet. ie animal products are vital, just eat em raw. i do not see anyone thriving athletically on this diet. it doesnt allow one sufficient carbs to train aerobically enough to get sufficient lymph pump to maintain longterm health.
bp, have i got the question straight. we fix the transport situation etc. but we are still cooking food and or enslaving animals for food.
6 billion people on the planet. we dont have enough resources or need for ANYONE to be cooking food. there simply is ZERO need for someone in society today to derrange and damage their food. sure we have people in iceland. but even they are getting imported fruit up there.
indonesia, burma, india, china, bangladesh, siberia etc etc are chopp'n down there forrests as we speak to make room for 'quality animal protein' , firewood and grain crops to feed the animals and themselves cos they didnt plant sufficient fruit.
the solution is here. there is no other way. its 811rv. thats just how its gotta be. there are no losers on this path. just those few that choose to stay in the cooked bath. sautee'n their lifes along with their brocoli. steaming any chance of a cool and calm outlook. broiling and boiling their looks like the poor crab scampering around its david jones teflon casket on the latest designer stove top.
we need not more than health, shelter, life purpose and food. we can make a living or make a killing...
ok onto the next subject... dr my knees need help..
jim has got the tips i rate.
and what would i recomend? i would recomend what i did. i had some real knee issues goin'n down a few years back. doesnt sound as bad as yours dfe. but this is what i did.., i put my health before my wealth.i quit work(was on my feet there). slept as much as i could. took the big ring off my bike for almost a year so i could NOT push big gears. i did a tonne of yoga, stretching, massage and anything else that didnt make the knee complain. finally after a few years im rock steady, iron knees ready. if your eating hardline 811 and have read the book so you know it backwards then you are living the most alkaline way. which also will promote injury repair.
sleep gives us the growth hormones to repair. get as much as you can.
cg: i totally forgot about them bbq crew. heck, i had to yell cos they couldnt understand my 'ossie' accent..lol!
john: yep you got it right bro.
keb: from chronic fatigue couch potatoe to shouting ultra endurance lifestyle tips from the rooftops.. ie do good, expect good..
was in bangkok yesterday doing some kfc and macca's activiism. supported some local thai kfc workers that were outside protesting about no payed lunch break. i handed out kfc cruelty flyers and gave kfc some loud verbal advice..
ran home in the ran last night. red hot chilli peppers crank'n the tunes...was a run to remember forever. got back and ate a durian standing in the rain..
melb, you sound like the skin expert. id like to see a recent photo of you to show us your stuff. just as i boast about my athletic prowess etc and follow it with photos.. show us how its done. im always open to learning more from crew getting the results i desire.
luke, you forgot our talks together up in port...
john, your idea of a mono meal is carbon MONOxide. i accept that.
rp sees my softer side. i dont think its wise that people view my other posts on other forums. cos thats where i really turn up the volume...lol!
i dont read other threads just as i dont listen to conversations i aint gonna contribute too. i aint got time for in- action. im only interested in dialogue if i can be part of the collective efforts. call it ego or call it a compulsive desire to share helpful info with folk..
as for people with mental health, eating issues, etc...ive helped many and continue to do so. why? cos people can afford me. as im free. im informal. i have the time, skills and experience dealing with people on the edge. heck ALL of the crew i mentor, feel better cos they KNOW im the craziest one..lol!
like jim said, if crew cant hack some words typed in cyberspace by an absolute stranger with a 'fruity cyclist' name, then there is no way they are gonna succeed on raw in this cooked world. people using other people as excuses to bail anything were always looking for a way out. we just held the door open for em so they didnt rip it off the hinges..
show me an athlete over 30 with single digit body fat% and a chiseled jawline with no crows feet..lol! maybe i should just get some botox or photoshop my photos or wear some make up so i dont become 'victim of criticism..'
once i was watching tv with my nan. they had some runner chicks on the tv. one of the chicks was being interveiwed and you could see the muscles and veins in her neck. as you can on top level athletes. my gran said 'she is disgusting! women shouldnt have a neck like that or veins for people to see!' and this runner gal was a 10km runner. not a 80kg roid monster. so non athletes are quick to judge. just as us athletes are to judge our sedentary peers.
its ok to disagree, lets just not be disagreeable..
once i was at a 24hr race and wasnt racing due to injury. so i asked if i could help any of my mates. one of em said 'motivate me when i dont want to go on'...i said ' you sure mate? cos you know IM GONNA KEEP MY WORD!' he said 'yeah im sure..'
i think it was around 4am and i came back from recharging the some lights. i saw my mate laying on the ground. i ran over and said 'you alright bro, whats wrong? you have a big crash?' he said 'nah i just cant be f'd.'
you should have seen the faces of the other support crew as my shouts of motivation echoed thru the forrest. needless to say the rider got back on the bike and finished the race with a respectable placing.
my mate protested and shouted profanity's at me , but i just shouted louder, picked him up off the ground by the scruff of his neck and pushed him over to his bike and once he knew i wasnt gonna backdown, NO MATTER WHAT!, he was back on the bike. after the race was over he thanked me.
whats the moral of the story? dont take things personally. understand that people sometimes are influenced by apathy and need a shake up when the going gets tuff. and above all, when your helping crew..KEEP YOUR WORD! cos if someone makes the commitment to push thru the comfort zone then they will need us to support them. we must stand strong and tall. otherwise we can blame ourselves for their eventual fall...
whats another analogy to explain it? imagine your out rock climbing and got a friend down below keeping the slack at bay. where you think that saying came from 'dont slack off!'.
just as in rockclimbing personal safety is dependent on you. just as in health, personal safety is dependent on you. are you gonna settle for second rate food choices for you and your family? are you gonna continue to feed them foods YOU KNOW and SCIENCE PROVES that are addictive, cancer causing, obesity forming, environmentally and karmically damaging..etc etc.
bad skin runs in our family. i havent worn sunglasses for the last 4 years yet continued to 'squint' my way thru the day. the last month has seen me wear sunglasses again so i dont have to ride around with my left eye shut. ie im using unatural eye protection to transport my self via an unatural means ie the bicycle. so we see that even holy durianrider is prepared to comprimise..
i got crows feet for sure. show me a rider thats doing up to and over 30 000km a year that dont..lol! i trade baby face looks for the adventure lifestyle..if you aint got crows feet and tan lines at age 30 you aint liv'n. durianrider aint no primadonna....sometimes i sleep on parkbenches, eat in the gutter and dont have a home.
low on fatty acids?...read china study, 811, stuff by udo erasmus, framingham study, charlie abels book on raw vegan body building etc. do some googling on the optimum omega ratios. 1:1 if i remember correctly..
avocado and durian are like black and white. here is the figures for those that havent aten a meal of fresh local durian. avocado per 100g fat 19.5g protein 1.9 carbs 1.9
durian (but like avo it can vary according to the variety) fat 5g protein 2g carbs 27g.
so if we do the math we can see fatty fruits aint all the same...
'slam'n' people for eating avocado? for sure i do that. same people asking me why they still have candida, digestive issues and or chronic fatigue. people ask me questions and i will give em answers. as ALWAYS is a tuff love slam'n i give out..
why do i do competitive sport? well only those that do will know the feeling... when your up on the podium with a medal around your neck and a mic in your hand and a captive audience in front of you and your wearing 'go vegan' on ya ass...heck what a way to get a message out there. cos if i wasnt winning bike races people would be say'n 'oh harley is not getting enough protein or carbs'..instead they are say'n other excuses that help em justify their inactions.
raw vegan long term? i know tim trader, doug, roger haeske, roz gruben, charlie abel and a few others that people never heard of. all have good teeth, all are athletic and getting results for themselves and other people. sure there aint many raw vegans out there. cos not everyone is prepared to make the lifestyle adjustments that it takes. we live in a society where people take things personally. take for example my discussion with luke(dmtree). luke is a mate, gives me great massages and nothing i say on here is anything i havent said to luke in person all ready. luke knows my style. friends are people you can be open with, acquaintances are people you tread on apricots around.
we all have our different definitions of ego. what motivates me? seeing people getting the results they have worked for. what do i get out of it? a sense of contribution, connection, certainty, growth etc. it makes me feel good. so yeah, one could say im promoting health for selfish ego reasons..
its not a win win situation..its win'finity. there are no losers. only winners. we have to step back and look at the raw vegan pictures to see what i mean by that...
love, peace and durian grease from thailand. harley.
the experts agree that 3% of cals from protein is suffcient for humans. the studies show that under 10% of cals in a year from fat is best. you could eat 80% of your cals from fat in one day and still be under 10% for the year.
my bro came and stayed with me a few months back. he tried to offer me drugs and booze. he said 'harls you need to unwind'...im like 'me unwind? im not the drug addict no more. my idea of unwinding is gett'n to bed at 7 and getting up at 7. its eating in a way that doesnt introduce adrenaline into my body or force my body to go into ketosis to produce sugar cos i aint eating enough..
those comments went straight over my bros head. but after a few days he said' you seem to be doing alright on this diet and lifestyle..but im still a bit concerned'. i said bro 'i have the state champs 24 on the weekend. i know im gonna win it. nobody in this state can touch me in a 24. its my race. i have to go to the nationals if i want competition.and then in a population of 24million only a handful of drugged up guys can give me a run for my money...,' im the fittest and healthiest member of my family at 30 ever! but its like talking to drunk crew at a 'party'. not many crew are gonna be able to vibe with what your saying.
its hard to talk to our family when they are in cooked la la land. when i get drunk crew or junkees coming up to me asking for money etc, i just give em a serve of raw info. its like i sprayed repellent in their faces. they instantly disperse. but i just wanted to help.. ie the false self is so strong in these people that they can not bear to here a bit of truthful insight.
we dont eat donuts or do smack to remember we do it to forget. forget that we are not living the lives we want. we eat numbing foods so we cant feel the pain of a wasted moment. people dont eat domino's cos it makes them feel better, they eat it cos it makes em unconscious. people eat animal products cos it keeps their heart turned off to the horrors of the world, but how can we stop the horrors if our lunch is a slab of horror?
being a raw vegan forces us to detach from our past. our story of 'why i cant or why im like this or why this always happens to me...' it disolves it. and forces us to move forward and live a life of purpose. but first we have to believe and know we are worth living our life purpose. not many people think they are worthy...they think they need to eat carcasses, canned food, gruel and slop. they put the corporations marketing departments dreams and goals before their own. they say' oh when i have some time i will read that book or get some more sleep..' but for most that time never comes...cos they dont MAKE TIME FOR IT...they just rely on public holidays to catch up some adrenal rest but most just drink more booze.. durianrider says we should have a public holiday month where people must rest 20 hours a day for the whole month..
we live in a society where 'happy hour' means a discount on some poison to kill your pain..lol! we dont do anyone a service to hang with em cos we feel sorry for them. otherwise the person continues the attention seeking behaviour and our relationship with them reinforces the downward spiral.
we have enough diluted crew in the health movement today. my recomendation for people wanting a dilution solution to their lifestyle pollution, is go listen to them tell you what you want to hear. if your prepared to kick some cooked ass! then load up the fruit box and get ready for raw!. as we battle ignorance and apathy with undeniable examples of vitality..
come and have some lunch mate! dont be so raw all the time,,yeah come on durianrider..chill out and crack a pepsi.. the cooked food world spends per year 33billion$ US on food advertisments..this add is in EVERY village in thailand..where its cheaper to buy pepsi or coke than a bottle of fresh pressed local cane juice... some crew say we got time for baby steps..i reckon we gotta start doing some profound jumps so asia, india etc aint having to run a marathon in 10 years to save the planet..
never before have humans lived in such urgency to do something about our environment. six million kids dying per year from starvation. 9 million kids in america overweight or obese...and durianrider is extreme. fruits and veg and raw low fat is extreme..earning your meal is extreme..human powered transport is extreme. drug free athletics and social life is extreme. handing out kfc cruelty leaflets to thai school kids is extreme..
people can tell when im training and or racing hard. my passion in my posts goes up. apathy goes out the window and im up for indepth debates.
going inward is vital, not talking is great. id just rather do it by myself in nature than around crew eating animals, cooked food and wearing perfume and me not being able to say anything cos ive dropped 500$ on a course i can tell people ive done...lol! if them vipassana crew were up with it, they wouldnt be cooked food addicts. my mate just came back from one. they get up at 3am to do 4-5hours of food prep. i reckon my time would be better utilised.
but thanks for the idea luke. maybe i should chill out and kill an animal for lunch. or pay someone else to do it... maybe i should chill out with some blood running down my chin? eh? come on champ, increase your fruit calories so you aint guzz'ln raw rabbits..
freedom comes for the heart i agree. hence why i believe no animal must suffer for my meal. no animal must slave for me to eat. thats my idea of freedom from a wholistic standpoint. i just helped a scorpion off the road on the way to this internet joint. i see beauty in critters that get squashed, eaten or monsanto'd by most.
why am i pointing the finger? cos crew are questioning the results they are getting. im gonna highlight the darkness. some crew have more time than others to 'find what works for them' some crew just got diagnosed with a month to live. those crew need to hear it from someone that stands for something real, sustainable, obtainable and peaceful. they need to hear from someone that aint afraid to put it on the line. someone that aint afraid to speak what they mean on national tv etc.
right now im training for a solo 600km ride and a sub 3hr marathon.. you can bet durianrider is hyped! when we are holding ourselves to a high standard, we hold others to same.
when im train'n hard, im post'n hard! im say'n it, how it is! no diluted, canned mango in syrup replys...these wild mangoes are hurtling to the point!
its this sort of passion that allows me to win state champ 24hr solo xc races with no sleep and no drugs. to run marathons, to ride 1500km a week etc. its the ability to turn ourselves 'on' and get the job done.
