we gotta practise what we preach...
32  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Thursday 26 June, 2008
to which this reply came in later..
"*after reading this last message i understand better as to what you mean when you speak about changing peoples views and saving them.

You do seem to raise views which come across as harsh and degrading to others yet when i read this its seems although you have your mind in the right place and have wonderfully profound and helpful views you lack the delicacy in communicating them.

I would love to be able to think that i can change people and save them yet i am restricted with the negative mind set i have been raised with. I have always been taught that i can do anything i put my mind to and one small change can set of ripples in a whole puddle yet never that i could actually change someone with my views or that i have the right to change other peoples behavior no matter how self harming.

Thank you, in a few short messages everyone has helped me change the way i think and perhaps hopefully the way i act towards society and perhaps one day i may possibly be somewhere reeducating people on the injustices they are doing to this world, like i have been educated here."*

50c worth of local rambutan. picked that morn.

on my way to market to pick up some durian tonight, i stopped at kfc to drop off some www.peta.org flyers. western fast food chains are a symbol of affluence in non western countries. a sign of status if your seen there by your mates etc. and in comes durianrider, popping peoples fast food dreams with a flyer that has a cartoon of the colonel stabbing a chicken in the neck. i just drop em off on peoples tables. then hand one to management and walk out. no hassles. just there to give the info and let crew make the choices. feels great to contribute like that on a thursday night...

late season pumanee durian. man, im grateful!

33  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Thursday 26 June, 2008
here is a reply i got to some advice i gave a person that has a drinking problem, a twin kidney transplant and told me they went of vegan diet cos mcdonalds is cheaper and more convienient when your out drink'n with your mates..

"ohh spiritual one save me from my life of drugs, crap  food and meaningless activitys. tell me the meanings of life ha ha ha ha ha what a load of crap!!!

Do you really believe that you are more spiritual than others purely because your some raw vegan and dont associate your life with drugs, crap food and meaningless activities??

what is a meaningless activity please let me know because i am fairly sure that everything i do has a meaning and a purpose??

ha ha i swear i have never laughed so hard as i have reading these comments by veganbob please i must met you your not seriously like this this has to be a joke no one seriously is so up themselves ha ha seriously do you actually believe in this spiritual crap OMG next your going to tell me your body is some kind of temple ahhhh ha ha

well please keep the personal attacks on my life coming i am quite enjoying :D"

to which my reply was..

"your right everything has a meaning. the meaning we attach to something. the word meaningless to me means when our activities have a negative meaning. ie meaning'less'. not meaning'plus'. ie postive activity that promotes a raise in consciousness.

more spritual than others? i prefer to compare myself to how i used to be. and make sure im constantly improving that on a daily basis. no matter how small. they call it constant and never ending improvement.
comparing ourselves with others aint good. cos we can find people that eat 5 big macs a day and we can eat 4 and feel good. we can try and emulate athletes on 100$k a year drug programs and feel small.

so compare yourself to how you were and strive for more. cos in life we are either growing or slowing...we know there is no coasting. cos if your coasting in life, your going down hill..

ive got a friend that says 'i will quit smoking when i get cancer and then i will have the motivation to go raw like you!' some people just dont get it..why wait? lets take action today. lets life our purpose. anything else is worthless. lets not be guilty of a wasted life. in this court of raw, we must be our own judges.

and on judgement..we can only feel judged if we are doing something against our personal integrity...

i cant save anyone, nobody can. being 'saved' is an individual choice. as everything we need is within us now..we just gotta tap into that. and erode the ignorance that keeps us chasing meaningless material dreams and fake economic status that we cant even take to the grave."

my tip for h & f week is to ensure enough sleep the week before! whatever your fitness level youll be sore!

great food, great vibe, great way to learn, great grub..a great week guaranteed. h & f week slapped a lot of bricks and mortar on my raw wall of conviction....

read the book..lol!

thanks once again gang. thanks always for the votes of confidence.
that was my first crack at youtube fbi..lol! i said i wasnt going to bed that day till i was on it..

i know vic and vic knows me. people are too scared to be honest with her face to face cos she is the biggest name in raw foods and i think thats sad. cos we all need people to hold us to a higher standard. to push us forward rather than worship us like gurus and be too afraid to tell us we have some green smoothy on our cheek.

if we want to be on center stage and give people advice, i feel we should be walking our talk.
i know doug wont train a pro athlete unless the athlete is committed to getting 12hrs of zzz a day. and i know doug would do a lot better if he committed to that himself..

lets hold ourselves, our community, our world to a higher standard. lets not be afraid to express how we feel. and lets not take anything personally.

only when we are truthful can we admit we are wrong. only when we admit we are wrong can we start to do what is right.

i used to think the authority was the truth. now i see the truth as the authority..
36  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Wednesday 25 June, 2008
thanks sach, im familar with cani..

green smoothies. great idea if you have a blender. great way to start getting more volume in. but i rarely mix fruit with greens and the times i do is when i eat alice springs dates with lettuce.  smoothies are a great way to get whole foods in for someone not used to sitting down and eating a good hearty meal of fruit or salad.

but to say green smoothies are a cure all for cravings..thats not true.

dehydrated foods are not something i find working for me like they used to.  if im eatng alice springs dates or sultanas, im soak'n em preferably.

i scrape in for greens when im back in oz. over here im cool with eating less.

jim defatted that question and answered it sweetly...

even when i eat durian i ensure nothing goes on top of that durian for at least 24 hours...my fat levels have easily approached 20% this trip. and i sure notice a drop in on bike performance. still performing well but i wouldnt make durian dinners part of my pre race diet for peak performance.

i didnt know them white creams were that nasty..thanks for the info crew. i will pass it on..
37  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Tuesday 24 June, 2008
now i could see sach's post 2 ways. as an attack. or a challenge for me to have a crack!

honestly when i was reading it, it brought a smile to my face, the smile got bigger and bigger and now i sit here fully pumped up with drive! thanks sachman for helping me rise to a higher level! thanks for supporting and pushing for my growth.

im out training everyday. what ever the weather. where ever i am. always seeking to improve. i have my athletic goals for this year. first of which was to once again win the south oz 24hr solo xc champs. and i did that comfortably.

next is a sub 3 hour marathon
a crack at the 24hr running nationals
ride accross the nullabor raw.
and to beat my personal record of 515km solo in 24hours. aiming for over 600km in 24 hours. out and back course. ie so i dont have a tailwind all day..

i keep asking myself that question 'how can i reach more people to inspire them to change for a better world. a raw vegan world that we are proud to hand over to our kids and future generations...' it gets me on my feet in the morning and keeps me up at night. its my constant drive.

tour de france...even if i could decend those mountains as fast as those dudes, corporate wise no company has the budget to put a team in the tour ie: no company that id feel happy representing. and no company that would want me representing. my mate brad runs www.organicathlete.org he is a militant organiser. he gets the job done to the best he can. its cut throat out there. in a world of 20million dollar yachts, billion dollar houses and 1000 piece car collections you can be rest assured trying to promote an  organic athlete team is a hard job. but one well worth the effort.

ive been invited to race in north america a few times. id rather focus on getting the message out more down under. thats why im cutt'n durian safari 08 a lot shorter and head'n back to oz to get some plans up and running.

stay tuned for raw action in the works...

thanks once again sachman for get'n me to STEP UP!

went out for the arvo ride with the thai bunch yesterday. there is a couple of em that are always hyped up to smash it. they want to see how fast i can ride and if they can keep up. its a great workout for all. im motivated to set a solid example of raw veganism and they have their own individual goals im sure. the electricity in the group is high. you can tell what level of excuses some of these riders have. i dont speak much thai but i can tell how much a person thinks of themself by the way they hold em self and other body language.

like they say 'what is stopping you from getting where you are now, to where you want to be, is the pathetic excuses your using to justify your complacency...'

i see it more and more that the difference between top athletes and people that cant find the motivation to get off the couch is that the champs refuse to take things personally. and the chumps are constantly complaing about how 'attacked they feel'

so what you gonna be?
a champ or a chump?
you gonna let society dictate how you feel today?
or you gonna take control of those internal voices and what they say?
cos in this game called life, thats how the champs  play!

photos of a 3$ local meal deal from the lady round the corner.dragonfruit and nam dok mai mangoes. these mangoes are hyper sweet!

dragonfruit flowers are at full bloom at sunrise. ie mother nature reminding us that the early bird catches the pretty flower. get busy like these bees and start each day with a fruitful flower. (the flower turns into the dragonfruit..)

pineapples in thailand are like nothing youve eat'n before. ultra sweet and low acid. this is thai fast food at its original and best...
39  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Monday 23 June, 2008
for sure. i see little groups like that often.
but a group of over 50 just hovering..surreal.

just walking to this internet joint a car pulled up. one dude offered me duku fruit. the other offered me thai beer. i thanked and took the fruit offering and gave a raw deal talk about the beer. they said 'yes yes, healthy you! GOOD GOOD!'

i could of sculled the beer like 'one of the boys'. but what sort of message those that give. check out these photos to see the western wave of greed and need is doing to thailand..

hey mum, im thirsty after that rice meal, can i have some coke now we can afford it cos its cheaper than fresh sugar cane juice..sure lov, anything for you. im at work all day to afford this crap we dont need. i need to 'spoil' you..

we are laughing now cos of the refined sugar rush. but in 10 years we will develop eating disorders based around cooked starches..

suprises! what a name of a product. is that in relation to the suprise people get when they cant fit their highschool pants any more?

in western countries we make women feel guilty if they dare to have a natural face. in asia we make em feel guilty for not being white! lol! both men and women are targeted for skin whiteners. some of these large companies get heartfelt bonus points by saying 'we dont test on animals..' thats right we test on poor females back home and asians. and anyone else whom is insecure about the looks that mother nature provides. (not sure if you can see it, but those 'tears' on this chicks face are shirtless buff white guys in overalls with cleaning rags. 'helping you clean off the fact your a dirty cos your skin is dark'....)

just where do they get these names from! lol!

whats my point? if your asian or female or dont fit the fact that your not a white male. be pround of your individuality. dont worship the marketing campiagns and goals of these corporations. QUESTION THEM!

the girls work'n this cosmetics counter were real friendly. they spoke english. i told em that make up is for clowns like ronald mcdonald the boys that do late night shows in bangkok. i pointed to a nicely sunned, make up free thai  girl walking thru the shop. she paused and stood still like she was a kangaroo in spotlights. possibly intimidated with all these 'white' people look'n at her. i said out loudly 'you look naturally beautiful!, dark skin good!' in thai. she blushed and smiled. the cosmetic girls have obvious skin damage from the products they sell.

when will chicks learn that clowns aint sexy. they never were!
when will darker skinned people learn that tanned skin is natural and to be admired.
when will us white males stop trying to make people feel guilty for what they are born with?

thanks crew!

im in marathon training at the moment. goal is to run a sub 3 hour marathon in the next few months. so was out on a little jog this morn in some thai village back streets. came accross a super steep hill. i ran past the entrance and then my little coach voice said 'and where you think your going? please turn around..' my couch potatoe voice said 'but its a steep hill, your a cyclist not a runner, thats gonna be too much stimulis too soon'.

the coach voice corrected and said 'we aint sprinting up the hill, we just gonna cruze up it. its not too much too soon. how did we get good at cycling? it certainly wasnt from being hill phobic'...

i couldnt here the comment the couch potatoe voice said after that. cos the coach shouted 'and we know its not a steep hill! its A LYMPH PUMPER!'

and up the hill we went. me, myself and i. the 3 of us are always together. never lonely. when i got to the top, mother nature rewarded me with a scene i have never seen before. a butterfly brushed my leg and then a SWARM of dragonflies just hovered above me for a second. ive never seen a swarm of dragonsflies, i didnt know they swarmed. but when we live the fact that 'EVERY DISCIPLINED EFFORT IT MET WITH MULTIPLE REWARD' then we get rewarded daily.

sure as humans, not every time to we make the best choice. but at least we know if we want the best, then the best is what we have to put in....

they say there is 6 basic human emotional needs we need in order to feel a life of purpose. they are as follows.

uncertainty(variety)

certainty

contribution

significance

growth

connection(love)

i find more and more i get the purest joys from nature and fellow humans that think and live same..
42  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Sunday 22 June, 2008
i guess what im saying is drugs aint needed cos being healthy is the best high!

if only terrance had access to a copy of 811..

either way lets support organic fruit forrests that provide fungal homes for the mushroom gods as terrance would have wanted..as the soil needs.

i never met terrance but i heard he was a fun guy. no pun intended.
43  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Sunday 22 June, 2008
and on drugs..youd be suprised who is on em..but youtube is exposing that truth. ive done most of em. drugs are crap. as what we seek artifically is ours naturally. i get more of an ectasy rush helping someone overcome candida or winning a 24 hour bike race and hitting the podium with some raw vegan rhymes..

terrance mckenna was the authority on mushrooms. he died of brain cancer. or was it chemo? who knows. but i KNOW humans need to try low fat raw vegan athletic adventure lifestyle before they look for drugs. raw or cooked.

you want adrenaline? put down that steak and run or ride you bike naked in front of a cheering crowd.

you want relaxation? go thrash yourself at your fav activity. or try and mimic the physical movements of your young kids for 2 minutes! then you will feel relaxed as your body switches over to recovery mode AFTER training..

you want confidence and a sense of significance? blow away the lines of coke and believe that make up is a joke. dare to show the world your raw face. dare to stand up for things you believe in. dare to have an opinion and way of life that goes flying in the face of this consumerism society dominated by fat white males.

want a closer connection to nature? forget mushrooms, dmt, ayawashka etc. become a raw vegan flex'n ya muscles to see more, do more and feel more of mother nature. lay naked on the bare earth in the rain. sleep naked in the jungle for just one night. BELIEVE AND LIVE the fact that all humans need to thrive is found in whole raw plant foods..

drugs? them's for df thugs..
get hooked on health!
44  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Sunday 22 June, 2008
having some problems posting a reply..wont let me cut and paste the info..anyways

tim quotes his track and field coach back in 1984...running for a couple of years..i dont thinks so..check out timmys blog. top left. click. then read first paragraph..

tim trains hard in the gym. check out his bicep vein popping photos at golds gym. but i agree, muscles to grow when we do nothing. muscle grow when we sleep. so yeah he is being correct when he says 'i do nothing and put on muscle!'. and he shows us videos of him smashing up hills so steep it would kill most people. tim provides the recovery and the stimulis.

cg: i was still eating salt last year. had it on about 10 different days. last of which was last july. salt like cooked food and animal products is off my list completly. i just had to be honest with myself and stop hiding behind the marketing hype i was buy'n and the personal addiction i was supply'n.

check out my 'raw road train'..got a trailer off a thai mate and scored a hiest of organic chanee and pumanee durians of the local durian mamma. no plastic wrappers, no food miles. just the real deal, real fast!
i need fruit to pedal my bike, i need to pedal my bike to get fruit..some call it a viscious cycle, we call it a delicious one!

did 127km yesterday. once again ripped the legs off the local thai's. 2 of em asked about my diet after the ride. i just pointed at the organicathlete.org logo on my cycling shorts..they understand enough english to be able to navigate that site. and its not like i came over here with a kick ass bike. my bike has fenders and covered in stickers and the back wheel is almost shot. its a heavy clunker. but it fits me and i can put enough power thru it. so these thai dudes wont have the excuse that i had the better bike. infact some of these guys are riding 10k bikes. mine is worth a little over 1k. and at the end of the day, the best local organic fruit wont make me fitter unless im putting in the hard yards.

EVERYTHING i travel with now is solar powered. my shaver, bike lights,mp3, camera are all solar friendly. this is how i charge em. its the little things that count eh?

45  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Sunday 22 June, 2008
grant just got back to civilisation..he was paddling around a remote thai island.
