2  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Dehydrators aren't sustainable on: Sunday 30 December, 2007
Just thought I'd add my two cents worth.  I have a dehydrator, though I don't use it much.  And yes it is quite low in energy use.  We are actually on solar power so I can watch the fluctuations in thingys (hubby is the technical one) as the dehydrator goes through it's cycles.  My neighbour, who is also on solar power, uses her dehydrator quite a bit, and has no problem with the amps or whatever.

3  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: Need A Juicer Recommendation Please...... on: Monday 19 November, 2007
A couple of weeks ago I bought a compact juicer.  Which I believe is a "compact" version of the samson juicer.  It works really well, although I can see that the larger version would be better.  But I only wanted to spend about $250, and see if I really used it.  My ten year old girls love juicing stuff now, and it handles carrots easily.  I haven't tried any greens in it yet, and it does all the usual stuff.  It cost $249 plus about $7 postage, and I got it in about three days.  You should be able to google juicer, and it will pop up there somewhere.  Which is how I found it, whilst researching.  Or you could pm me and I will find my paperwork and see where it actually came from.   uhuh

Cheers

6  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: So upset with myself... on: Friday 02 November, 2007
Hello RC

I so feel where you are.  Now I have some alternative therapies if you want to try them.  They work with belief patterns and stuff like that.  It's called Theta Healing, or some people know it as DNA 1 & 2.  I have a couple of links that I will send to you if you want.

You are doing the best that you can, even if it doesn't always feel like you are.  So don't beat yourself up.

Hugs

7  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: maca made me sick on: Monday 15 October, 2007
I have only recently bought some powdered maca.  Tried it about 6 years ago in capsule form, and had forgotten that it upset my body.  I haven't vomited, but I get cramp like pains in my stomach and throughout my digestive tract.  I had it for a few days and then haven't had it since I realised what was causing the upset, although I am considering trying it again just to make sure that it is the maca.  Interestingly I was wondering the day if anyone else had ever had a reaction to maca, and then you go and start a thread.  Gotta love synchronicity.

8  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Which summer fruit are you most looking forward to? on: Monday 08 October, 2007
Mmmmm, cherries and white peaches.

But on Friday I found Northern Territory Mangoes in the fruit shop.  So of course I bought one.  It is still waiting for me to devour it however.

9  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: cold hands and feet? on: Thursday 04 October, 2007
rstar,

Well I was going to suggest acupunture also.  I had some earlier this year for a seemingly unrelated matter and my constantly cold feet and hands are so much better now.  I only had a few days of chilly feet this winter, and previously it would be unusual for them to be warm.

Princess,

Have an amazing trip.  And say hello to Kalgoorlie for me when you get there.  We lived there for a few years last century  laugh and my girls were born there.  It has been on my mind lately as we are heading over to Perth for Christmas and are pondering a stop over in Kal.  Should be beautiful weather for you.

Enjoy.

13  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: Kitchen Island for Raw Food Preparation? on: Monday 04 June, 2007
I remember something like May described being in a house I visited some twenty years ago.  It was pretty much just that, part of the bench had been cut out and the compost bucket sat underneath this so you could just lift the lid with a fingerhole and swoosh the scraps in.  So 'phisticated and yet so simple.

Krizzy
What a truly amazing life you are now living.  Many many hugs to you gorgeous lady.  And I will second or third the skype thing.  That is how I chat to my hubby when he is o/seas.  It is definitely better to hear your loved one's voice.
Oh, and I just thought you might like to check out a modality called Theta Healing.  Not sure where you are, was it Sydney?  Any way you can find practitioners and you can also go and learn it to use yourself.  Great guy from Melbourne called Simon Rose, his business is Thetamagic.  You can google that if you want.  It is just an amazing process.  Been using it heaps myself lately.   But then again you are going great guns on your own beautiful lady.  Keep up the good work darling Krizzy.

Hugs

Hi Emi,
Just though I would pop in to say hi from one dragonfly lover to another.  I thought that you might like to know the metaphysical meaning of dragonflies.  (you seem that sorta girl)  They help us to see through illusions.  "Dragonfly helps to break down illusions, the limiting beliefs and values that hinder our path and slow our movement.  Dragonfly helps us to see these limitation as undesirable boundaries unintentionally installed to prevent us from shiftin our consciousness and growing as people."  The article that comes from talks more about the beliefs and values we develop as children based on our cultural tradion and family morals.  So is interesting in light of your comment about having previously given away your personal power.
You go girl!
Your choice between farming and mining is interesting.  Although I grew up on a farm my husband is a metallurgist and currently works overseas for most of the time.  But when he is home he is very well appreciated.
The $9000 you mentioned to shift your furniture to NZ doesn't sound too bad, but it is all relative in the end.  The first time we moved from Vic to NT it cost about $7000.  We ended up moving to WA, but are back in Vic now so I can't come to the Perth picnic and meet all the lovely WA people.  Might be there at Christmas time though.
Gosh Emi, sorry I have rambled quite a lot.  Just getting used to talking instead of sitting on the sidelines and now I cant shut up.
Hugs
