Ok it's the evening now and I'm feeling fine.
Since I last wrote I have had an apple, lettuce, tomato, 3 pieces of bread, some baked beans, a tiny bit of chicken...and I am drinking a green juice made from silverbeet, celery and 3 apples.
When i went to pick our girl up from my mum's today after work she told me she had given my Shazzie cookbook to her friend to borrow. I was really glad about it, because her friend is suffering from cancer, and it had ocurred to me that this is just the kind of thing her mate should be reading, but I hadn't mentioned it to my mum. I was pleased that my mum had thought enough of what she was reading to lend it to her friend. I am sure it could change her life or at least give her some help.
On a funnier note, I found a recipe for a raw cake today. My dad proclaims that he doesn't like nuts, but when we hide them in food he eats them and never knows. So I said to my mum, to un-cook this cake, let him eat a piece and see if he troughs it. One thing my dad does like is cake, so I want to see if we can befuddle him.
I'll let you know if we can fool him.

I am thinking a raw pizza would be a great thing to demonstrate. I am often needing to eat savoury and tomato based, so something like that might go down a treat. Good luck and all the best in your worthwhile work, Franny xx

The walk yesterday, or should I say walks yesterday did my mind and body good. I felt tired yet energised from them. This morning I have had kiwi fruit, pear, strawberry, apple and ginger juice for breakfast as well as pepitas, sunflower seeds, sultanas, air dried corn, and dates for my substitue cereal. I did have soy milk though. I am sitting here at work sipping my water and feeling good. I have to say I am obsessed with the whole RAW way of life. My mum said to me yesterday that now my nails had grown why didn't I wear polish. I said I wasn't going to wear polish as a) I would bite it off and chip away at it and I didn't want any more chemicals than I was forced in/on my body. I have to say when I fall I fall hard. There's no half measures. I do have to be careful though as I have a tendency to burn out. I am a sufferer of bi-polar disorder, and take medication for it and one of the issues for bi-polar people is extremes, and I think I illustrate this issue very clearly. I am hoping the RAW food lifestyle will help me get off medication and temper my extremes. More later, Franny

Rest of the day was indicative of the fact we need to go shoping. Ate an apple, some trout, scallops and bread along with tahini, jam, rice and chicken. What was I thinking ? Urgh i hate meat, why did I do it ?
Had another unplanned walk with my mum to Swan Point to look out over the water, Shazzie's book is safely ensconced in her house so I am expecting great things from her. My mum that is !

I have a more vacuous and selfish reason for being raw, that I thought was worth documenting..and that is the element of surprise. I just love it at work when at recess time or lunch time, I am devouring a mango or a lovely raw dish and people actually walk up to my food and ask me about it. I tell them about what I am trying to achieve and they look horrified. They say things like " well all the best, I don't think i could do it...but you're looking good with the healthy eating".
I mean let's face it, everyone ( even if they claim they don't ) loves praise, support and the prospect of being a little mysterious don't they.
Happy days, Franny xxxxxxx

Any of the ' Chicken Soup For The Soul ' books, and there are heaps, are fantastic reads. I laugh, cry and really feel when I read these. Feel good stories, of great emotional impact..easy to read as they are short, so plenty of time to read in between doing chores, and other time consumers.

I decided to avoid the cereal today. Instead I had a kiwi fruit, carrot and orange fruit juice. Ifan and Morgaine had some too..Ifan even said he'd try the cereal made with buckwheat once I located some. I have a sneaking suspicion that since he and Morgaine have both been sick over the last couple of weeks and I haven't he might secretly believe in eating more healthier. We'll see anyway.
Morgaine and I are going to go for a walk to my mum and dad's in a while. My mum wants to borrow Shazzie's detox book and recipes. I am so chuffed about this. She looks really good for 67 years of age. She has lost 6 kilos recently and has eaten a lot of raw stuff to do it. She also wants a vegetable curler, so I reckon i'll buy her one for Christmas. My dad is a meat and two veg man, but she's taming him a little ( they've been together 54 years so it hasn't been a quick thing ).
More later, I am going to eat a banana.

I am sat here sipping ( gulping !!) a kiwi fruit, parsley, pear and ginger fruit juice. It's tart but lovely. It's a laugh really, 'cause we used to live at another place in the city with a crappy kitchen and no dishwasher and a sink that a row of ants couldn't swim a relay in. I never used the juicer 'cause it was too much hassle to wash afterwards.
Now we live on the farm we have a dishwasher and I use the juicer regularly...I love it and it seems Morgaine is loving it too.
I am going to buy a spiraliser next pay. I have to say this site has everything !!!
Food-wise I had non wheat LF crackers with tomato, onion avocado and...cheese for lunch.
Lots of herb tea and water, a banana too.
I walked home from my mum's with the pram ( and the baby in it ) and took purposeful steps, imagining my fat magically floating away as I did.
I weight 74kg and am 173cm, so i don't want to lose heaps, just about 8 kilos.
I did my other favourite hobby yesterday ( other than walking and learning about healthy things ) and went op-shopping. I am obsessed by it, but it's another one of those things that gives a real buzz. I am wearing the hipster cords and hoody I found there today and they look great.
More later, better go and save the world on care2.com and do my daily click to donates.
Cheers, F x

I am definitely going to find the dehydrated buckwheat as an alternative to the ( I can't bring myself to name it ) cereal I am currently eating. I ate it again this morning and hated myself for doing it. I alleviated my downfall by having a tangerine afterwards.
I was very pleased yesterday as I made some kiwi fruit apple and grape fruit juice in the juicer and it was gorgeous, but more importantly, Morgaine our nearly 2 year old loved it too. Didn't give her too much and cleaned her teeth afterwards.
Ooh and while I think on it I have two thankyous to our two wonderful site hosts. First, thankyou so much for the delicious gift you sent us. Ifan ( my husband ) Morgaine and I loved them !!! Yippeeeeee...most kind thankyou.
And secondly, thankyou for taking the time to respond and encourage me with my posts. I get such a thrill when I know someone has responded to something I've written, just like friends.
More later, Franny xx

Thankyou thankyou thankyou, it's this kind of positive reinforcement that helps me along... I can't remember if I mentioned but I have a calendar on my wall and I give myself a sticker every day when I don't bite my nails. I know this sounds super-kindergartenesque BUT ...it works. I feel superproud of the fact that nearly two weeks has passed without the old nails being bitten to a frazzle !
Food today has been ok I guess, gosh I wish I didn't feel so disheartened. I feel really positive but somehow I am falling down the slippery slope and am trying hard to drag myself back up.
Anyway I have had 3 tangerines, tahini, lemon, chick peas, garlic, dates, soy milk and some cereal. The whole cereal thing is a drag. I have tried to not eat it for breakfast and have raw instead but if I have fruit or vege mix for breakfast I feel sooooooooooo hungry so quickly, this doesn't seem to happen with cereal and I don't know why.
I have to say I am in awe of my toenails. They are growing like...super fast. OMG !!! Bizarro time.
Ok I am waffling now, more later, Franny xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Anything by Ferenc Mate is worth a read. He is funny, inspirational and down to earht. Not strictly a self-hekp book, but it certainly does inspire and intrigue. Best books are : A Eeasonable Life and The Hills of Tuscany.
Nothing raw going on here, but simply beautifully written, I love him ! F x
