Hi everyone, I have been able to get young coconuts from most Woolworths supermarkets(and occasionally Coles and Bi Lo) when Im not near an asian store or market. If your local Woolworths doesnt have them you can ask them to get them in for you. To open a young coconut I usually remove all the husk with a sharp knife and then find the three indentations(looks a little like a monkeys face), one of which is soft and easily pierced. Drain the juice out to drink and then, well I have used a variety of objects to crack open the shell, cleavers, hammers, rolling pins, bricks etc. And have even thrown the nut on to the concrete when no other tool has been available to me. Good Luck, Theresa
Fat loss was great but the most exciting thing about being a raw foodist is the boundless energy and zest for life. This only became evident when I introduced some cooked food into my diet when my boyfriend moved in with me. I was needing more sleep and feeling tired at the end of the day. A few days on 100% raw food reminded me of the real benefits. Energy, energy, energy.
Fruit is alkaline in the system. After many years of experimenting with different raw food diets I have come back to fruit 80/ greens 10/ fat 10. Remember this is a caloric percentage not by volume, so while basing your diet on fruit you are still eating a lot of greens and very little fat. With this ratio you are never hungry and have lots of energy while shedding excess fat from your body.
I agree 4 kilos is fine but you are probably eating too much fat. It is common when someone first goes raw to replace cooked foods with high fat foods. Try eating more fruit to get the energy you need and satisfy your hunger, and then lots of green leafy vegies. Keep avocadoes, olives and nuts to a minimum and watch the kilos fall off and your energy levels soar. And yes exercise is very important. I am also in Sydney and would love to make contact. The more support the better. Keep up the good work. Theresa.xz
