Hey Raw Connection, I live in Western Sydney.... and you're hoping for a Raw restaurant - lol
We haven't even got the potlucks going in this area yet, mainly held close to or in the city area. Have you been to the potlucks at all, if so maybe we have met? Whereabouts in the West are you? PM me if you prefer.
I made fruit breakfasts and salad lunches for 2 ladies once for a 2 week period just to get them started on raw but they were both near me so no petrol costs involved or extra time for travelling. I make my own dishes every day including dehydrated treats so could make for an extra person if all the variables were good. LOVE my raw food.

Hi Bobbi - I started my own healthy food workshop business! At the moment it is part time till things pick up so for half the week I am in an office like Sweetpea, right next to the kitchen! Boy can I relate to those cookings smells that come out of the microwave while people nuke their food. I am organised, make my salad the night before when I go to the office job, prepare my fresh fruit in the morning. Take lots of snacks like nuts, dried fruit, home made treats from the dehydrator. The other half of the week I am organising my workshops so I only have good stuff in the house and am constantly trying out new raw recipes. Eventually I will be able to resign from my office job and focus entirely on spreading the raw word, I can feel it coming... in my raw bones.. lol

Go the RAW community! We really really really do need to start doing this. And spreading the word as all you lovely people are doing. Trying to lift the blinkers off people around us.
I contacted Planet Ark after our last National Tree Day and suggested that next year we have National Fruit tree planting day................. got a lovely polite repsonse saying that it wasn't 'environmentally responsible' to just plant any old fruit tree in any old spot and sorry but they couldn't really endorse my idea.
Just keep telling people to plant a tree in a pot, in the ground. joybell

:mellow : "The illuminati / one world conspiracy / new world order ~ may just be on its way!'
It may be on its way and unless we all start to do something, it will get here. Once people start to realise that this could happen, there might be some action. Sadly, in most of the Western world we are all TOO COMFORTABLE, too busy, brainwashed. Heaven forbid we miss the next episode of some reality TV show or miss a lesson from our Thai cooking class or have our weekend family get together interuppted. Just too busy to pay attention until it is too late.
In the past, countries and peoples that were downtrodden, surrounded by poverty were more likely to rise up and go agaisnt the ruling powers. What did they have to lose? Nothing.

'when you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect'
I find that a savoury blend ends up being a soup for me! Raw food recipes are so adaptable so if a particular sauce doesn't work out it becomes a soup. If a smoothie isn't really a smoothies it becomes a dessert.
My favourite savoury blend which could be a drink too is tomato and avocado, they both go so well together with a pinch of sea salt and some soaked pitted dates with the soak liquid to break acidity. Yummo.
So if you find some raw soup recipes, just adapt them into a smoothie by adding more liquid like coconut milk.
Going to be a fabulous day! If anyone would like to come along please see the following websites for more information: www.vegansocietynsw.com or www.gaiastable.com

Joybell here again... there are a few folk up in the mountains but no potlucks yet from what I know. We are trying to organise it for the future. Colin is in Medlow Bath but I don't know if he posts on Raw Pleasure. He said the lady at the co-op was 100% raw.
If you want more potluck information please check out our www.gaiastable.com website. For any other raw vegan events around Sydney http://www.rawfood.meetup.com/301/ - Colin is on here if you want to try and contact him via email. joybell

The coconuts are all gone! Sorry...... it was a real coconut crusade picking them up with Steve, wrote about it on www.gaiastable.com if you want a laugh! He might organise another delivery sometime seeing as it was a popular idea.

Thank you Oksyoks for caring and wanting to share. It makes such a difference when something just has to be verbalised and it resonates with others out there.
Hey No Frontiers, have been reading that bit about 'fight or flight' a few times and it makes a lot of sense in a scary kind of way. I think we are all going to have to 'fight' for our freedom to fly i.e. to choose our lifestyles, health choices, places we want to live etc. in the not too distant future. Your name 'no frontiers' is apt when you read Don Tolman's words about a state with no borders or boundaries. Maybe one day....
