not keen on two hour sessions, 45 mins is more than enough, theoretically i read you should be able to get muscle growth from one rep.. today my max rep range was between 4-6 reps a few years ago(7) i did super slow reps and the gains i got from that were phenomenal and my training partner at the time who was ex-sas was even buggered after doing that, he could train for hours and hours and the only way i slowed him down was with super slows, funny thing is the way he'd trained before that for long sessions he'd made no gains for years, but with the super slows he start to show great results, maybe you could try them when you've plateaued with this system john, just stick with the six rep for a while though... Les on a personal note mate....I don't really know how to broach this subtely....but I think you may wanna lay-off that super drink of yours...your face is taking on some prehistoric features... he's quite a handsome fella hey? http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=v-iPxXR8YvM this is worth a look..

this fascinates me. as I am watching teh differences in thinking and attitudes and life philosophies in 2 concuring civilization,
this is occasional attitude I come accross, howevere am not able to get an explanation for it.
Les, can You please ask him specificaly, what is the point or what for ?
Once the body gets beyond the point of no return, what is teh point of going healthy ? what he expect from it than ? rudy i still cant fathom most peoples thinking process then again the same could be said of myself a few years ago and maybe i'll be asking myself the same questions in a few more years time..

on teh topic of 6 reps and weight increases or staying on the weight longer. I cant remeber where I read it, but somebody had an idea of very little incremental weight increases, using home made plates of 100 grams, even smaller like 10 grams for some exercises, so while it can be considered nearly the same weigfh, injury prevention wise, it still can be higher weight than last weeks by 20 grams or so.
It could be some old russian principle, that muscles will not recognise increase by 10,20,...100 grams etc ( I think it was about less than 1%, or 0.1 % ?) and so will lift thinking it is teh same, and this increase can be made week in week out, never reaching any ceiling, it was about teh patients to stick with minimalist increases all the time. while in few months it might nopt lead to huge weights, in time working like compound interest principle it promisses huge rewards. this is a bloody good idea rudy! i'm sure it would work.. So basically....question is...by doing that do I compromise the purpose of 6 rep?...drop sets sound ideal....weird as it sounds...I'm just not finding heavy-low rep taxiing enough? mate if you stick with the program or somewhere near it u will be amazed at the results.. don't try to do too much, i thought for the first month i wasn't doing enough, but i'm kinda lazy so i didn't care cause i was getting no sore joints...now 4months later my workouts are less set wise than when i started and today for example i was sweating like i'd just got outa the pool with my clothes on cause my body was under such load..maxed out if you will, i've dropped down to two heavys now and thats more than enough cause i've got my brain linked to my muscle.. i won 2 out of 3 of my squash games today...

Breakfast - one whole pineapple juiced, 4 almonds Lunch - big salad of rocket, bok choy, yellow tomato, cucumber, mung beans, pine nuts with a dressing of vinegar, flax oil, garlic and lemon Dinner - Dehydrated veggie patties (garlic, red onion, red cabbage, carrot, pepitas) with tomato sauce (dried tomato, fresh tomato, garlic, olives, 2 pickled onions) served on a bed of rocket, alfalfa and cucumber dressed with olive oil and lime juice Dessert - Fresh icecream made from frozen banana and raspberries put through the juicer with the blank blade all this looks pretty good and tasty.. its amazing how much stuff(re your grandma) we can accumulate over a year let alone a lifetime, i always feel i need less and it is a slight area of conflict(maybe too stronger word) with my partner. but when i start minimizing i feel allot better.. my grandmother sent me a teaset that my other grandmother had given her nearly 40 years ago, still with the note in it.. i think she feels she is gonna go soon even though shes in good health and she is getting her house in order, i've got her eating more raw greens and fruit, but shes 85 and pretty set in her ways..

just thinking while i'm surfing the net, i've got a forensic type show on the tv going and theres some decomposing guy on the table.. i remember when silence of the lambs was scary but i re-watched it recently and it didn't phase me, i think the tv has numbed us to 'horrors'.. pretty bad really...
i think it risks our humanity, being immune to horrors..
on a good note went for an awesome walk with my children today, i made them take off there shoes whenever there was grass to walk on and it rained sporadically and we took shelter in what the kids thought were very funny places, a usually dry creek bed was full of water and there were lots of ducks and i think baby ibis..

meta, i love legs too but i need the aerobic side more at the moment, i feel a little restricted cause i'm one of those people who need a training partner and even a walking partner, i just work better when i've got someone to be accountable to and of course share the experience which is always more fun... I've generally gone with the doing 6-8 principle, when i can do 2 sets of 9-10 then I know its time to up the weights. I've always found that works for me. It means you are not always doing 6 reps, but you are always training to fatigue, which is what I aim for in my strength training! I dunno John maybe have a try at that rather than saying "I'm going to do X reps" do what you can, if you can do more than what you want to do (6-8) then up the weights! thats a great way of doing it.. rgg, i've eaten my banana and celery today also my mangos are ripening(well some of them) and no problems.. i was watching david wolfe on rawkathon today and he has been experimenting with soils of late, i have been studying and experimenting with soils for years, my last crop in wa was amazing even in the crapyist soils in the world.. cant wait to get back to growing my own food, i miss growing big time, theres nothing better than eating your own food.. i made my house in wa into a fruit forest, there was allot of trial and error but i loved it.. i have a permaculture vid called creating a food forest and am keen to follow the principals on there.. they have an awesome video on youtube http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ8pjOG4pXIfeeling like i've got the flu today must be the low fat thing.. its not too bad tho, not hungry till i start eating and then i'm ravenous, dunno what that means?

maybe split your body in two and that way if your doing 3 days, one week you'd train upper body twice and lower once and the next week lower twice upper once, so you'd just alternate each workout upper-lower-upper-lower-upper-lower-etc.. that will give you better recovery again, especially if you are doing allot of aerobic work.. i do my whole body once a week as the weights and intensity i use the recovery gives rapid gains in strength and size, but of course you won't get the same gains cause you don't have the man hormone, thankfully! but you will get the same gain in tone i've found...
my routine is; tues--chest and triceps followed by 1hr squash fri --shoulders (and i'm doing a light leg workout at the moment as i find the squash and a heavy leg workout were a bit too much for my knees and i choose squash over heavy leg workout and then theres no problem with knees, however as i get lighter i will go back heavy, ya gotta make adjustments as ya go) followed by 1hour squash sun--back and biceps followed by 1hour of squash
i have found i'm not very hungry this afternoon/night? is this common 811 thing? what do you do to stimulate appetite?
