1  Locally RAW / Australia & New Zealand / Re: Brisbane - raw foodists, raw food restaurants, etc ? on: Monday 25 February, 2008
To get the best raw food available, you just HAVE to come to the organic markets and taste everything at the Earth and Water stand. Jason and Nikki make delicious food. We always get our brekky here (and take home packages for our kids who just love it!). You won't be disappointed. They are also such lovely people. yahh
If you want to know where the markets are or how to get there you can pm me for the details.

2  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Travelling without vaccinations on: Monday 25 February, 2008
Does anyone have information about if you HAVE to have the overseas vaccinations before you travel? Is there any alternatives naturally? My oldest son, Joel, who is 19yrs is planning a trip to Greece in September and is not keen to be 'jabbed'. If anyone is interested in travel, he wouldn't mind someone to go with.
ne other helpful info to help this newbie traveller would be great.  cool

Hey I'm in the photo with my hunky hubby, in the blue shirt to his left. Uh-huh. cool
Fig balls are simply a combination of soaked dried figs, dessicated coconut and bananas (lady fingers are best- better flavour) then frozen and coated in raw choc! Frozen is good for holding coating of choc to them. Use toothpicks for ease in coating with choc, and for less mess when eating unless you enjoy licking melted gooey chocolate from off your fingers- yummm

7  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / Re: Pumpkin and Rosemary Dip on: Tuesday 08 January, 2008
Hey Freedom,
I guess it would work with other pumpkin, the flavour may just be a little different. Blend the pumpkin as far as it will go in fp, then with other ingredients blend well again. This will be as good as it gets texture wise, without a vitamix of course. Enjoy.

8  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / Pumpkin and Rosemary Dip on: Friday 04 January, 2008
This dip is surprisingly sweet but very yummy. I had previously eaten a cooked version of it and wanted to try making it raw as it was so yum. Anyhow, I did and we enjoyed it for New Years. Here's the recipe:

       1/8th medium sized jap pumpkin
       1/2 C macadamia nut cheese
3-4T fresh rosemary chopped very fine
       1T agave

De-skin and de-seed pumpkin. Blend in food processor till fine then add other ingred's and continue to
blend till well mixed. Should be a nice bright orange/yellow colour. Enjoy with veg or your favourite cracker.
I personally enjoyed it on curry buckwheat crackers also with snow peas.
Ingred's for maca cheese are simply macadamias, lemon juice, salt and water. Blend and dehydrate till most
        of moisture is evaporated.

I say get them into it as young as possible! My 9 month old just luuurves my green smoothies and whenever he sees me with them makes much noise till I share with him! He also loves smoothies without greens and thinks mango/young coconut custard is delicious. I hope he stays this way.

13  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: your shopping trolley.... on: Sunday 11 November, 2007
wow, for me and mine it's bananas in BULK! mangoes bulk, pineapples bulk, apples bulk, oranges bulk, tomatoes bulk, did I mention that I buy a lot in bulk? and lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers s/flower sprouts, carrots, capsicum, celery, parsley, kale, a range of nuts and seeds, fresh dates. I can hardly stand up when I'm finished! LOL! No, seriously my precious hubby and wonderfully helpful children help out with the shopping a lot. That's about it,.. I think, we do go through a lot. As for the supermarket I don't go to it more than once a week/fortnight. Really can't stand the place.
