31  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Re: Miscarriage on: Tuesday 20 March, 2007
I think it is a beautiful thing you did to put your explanation in a story, how creative! I am sad to hear that you lost your little one, I share your grief as I have also lost children to miscarriages. Please be encouraged that it will get better. Take the time you need now to go through your grieving and you will move through it. Embrace your other children and give them some extra time and cuddles too.

Much love to you

Hey, Congrats on the birth of your baby girl Bronnie. Good to hear. Usually it is me who goes o'due, but this time for once in my life my little man was early! I also had cracked nipples and I understand how painful that is. It took a couple of weeks to settle down as my skin had been peeling there even b4 I had the babe. All is good now and feeding is going well. Drinking gs' every day has been great. Try rubbing some breastmilk onto your nipples, it is a great remedy for many things, I am currently rubbing it over David's bottom as he has a nappy rash ( could be the curry crackers and dressing that I like evil),  I have, sadly, had to give that up . Anyhow I'm waffling so I'll go. Congrats again.

thanks everyone. No, no twins, triplets, or the like. Just hubby and me this time, kids were waiting inside. My oldest daughter was our 'runner' for supplies.
34  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Re: green poop...? on: Wednesday 07 March, 2007
Personally, I have heard that is caused by too much wind. Now whether this is true or not I can't quite remember. I would be ringing the Nursing Mothers Association. I personally trust their advise more as they are just that.... breastfeeding mums.
I drink 1.5 lt of green smoothie every day and DJ does the standard mustard yellow poo...regularly!!!

Let us know what you find out.

Cheers, Rabbit

Well, hubby was restoring a roof and a prolifically full passionfruit vine occupied a spot in the backyard. It appeared that no-one was collecting this beautiful fruit so we have had a few collections of panama passionfruit come home while he was doing the job. It has been  great!!! Shame the job is finished. I'm enjoying mixing grated apple, diced pineapple and passionfruit together-yummm. (So have the kids!)

Hi Jackson,
My view is that if they will eat fruit that is great, salad which is not as interesting to little kids, will come later. An option you could try is to make a salad of their fav fruits with a little chopped up lettuce or other salad green, or simply as others have said make a mildly green, smoothie, and up the greens as they go.
We don't need to be too concerned about the greens as they say littlies will generally start to eat greens around age 3yrs. This rang true for my daughter, well earlier actually, but she sees older siblings eat it so has taken it as normal to eat it. What do you eat when around her? Keep up your raw example and she is sure to follow. Tell her how yummy it is and how it will make her strong like mummy.
Keep reading the literature that tells you all the benefits in raw food( their is lots of great info in the raw pleasure bookshop- ie.Living Nutrition mags are cheap and full of good stuff) and their are endless benefits! Then feed it to your daughter daily in little doses. You will be surprised how it can catch on, but you must be convinced yourself first. Children have a way of reading us.
Any how press on you're on the right track. Stay on the forum.
37  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pregnancy and Kids / Rabbit has a boy!!! on: Tuesday 27 February, 2007
Hey everyone,

I have given birth to a beautiful little boy!!! He chose the 22nd Feb at 2:04am to be born. I am pleased to say that raw ROCKS for birthing. I had the best labour and birth out of all of my 8 children. Am trying to get pictures up but am having trouble so they will be here when I work this out.
To tell my story:
Contractions began about 3pm on 22nd. With my previous birth I had laboured on and off for 2 weeks so at this point was not convinced this one wouldn't do the same, so sat down to a movie with the kids. Contractions continued so at 9:30 I decided to go to bed and rest thinking it would dissipate if false labour. Well it did not so got up and put on a movie at midnight while hubby got some sleep. At that point contractions were down from 10 mins apart to 5-7 mins apart. So sat through a movie reasonably comfortably with a magnet on my belly to help. Was planning to watch a 2nd movie as contractions were still the same but on moving around realised we did not have a lot of time, he was moving down, so we quickly ( not that I could move very fast) got the basics togetrher and headed outside onto our patio. There was no way I had time to get down the back yard to our little clearing but I was going to birth outside as planned! So on the grass outside I brought forth our little man you see above. It was sooo good to breathe in the beautiful fresh outside air while birthing, a beautiful night indeed!! He weighed in at 8lb4oz ( not quite sure of kg's).
I wish I could say my pregnancy was 100% raw but it was very close and my best ever. It certainly showed me the difference it makes to your body, and I am so glad I knew how to make a difference for not only me but for my son.

Love to all, Rabbit

Congrats from me too Katie and Simon. You are blessed with a truly beautiful daughter. If you are wholeheartedly committed to breastfeeding your precious daughter you will find the answers you need to persist and succeed. Try to relax and enjoy every moment of the experience. It is certainly beautiful to look back on and you will build an awesome relationship from all you put into your daughter.

Love, and all good and positive thoughts for you

I know Sheryl has made white choc with cashews, maybe she can give her recipe for it?

Wow Pink Tulip, you have certainly been busy since Connor was born. You are doing so well and congrats for you hard work and perserverance.
I had my share of struggles with bf too and found fenugreek sprouts or tea were beneficial. Jinjee from the garden diet reccommends tahini. There is also green juices, smoothies or just eating them greens alone or if you like, wrapped around fruit. I had some cos lettuce with nectarine inside the other day- yummm. I have always thought hesitantly about doing this but just had to do this and well, yeah-yum.
Back to it, it has also been said that brewers yeast is brilliant. Don't know about it's rawness etc but depends whether that bothers you.

Kt- Does this mean that your lil' mango has arrived?Huh Have been watching for your post to tell. I am due in another 2 or so weeks. Body seems to be in prep mode but did this with last babe for 2 or so weeks so not likely to be any early surprises!!! Would love to hear your birth experience. kiss

Any relaxing oils - lavender, etc is good if stressed. Use b4 feeding but get a high quality one, as most are too processed to be very beneficial. I can give you the name of a company if you want to check it out.
Also drinking chamomile tea is also relaxing b4 and while feeding.

Great going girls.

Squidly, I think you are due same time as me, end of Feb? Love to know how you're going cheesy
42  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: 80/10/10 Question on: Sunday 04 February, 2007
I tried to drop fats down to be in line with the 80/10/10 habits but found I just craved fats too much and felt terribly low in energy without the fats so ate them, don't know if it was all pregnancy related so want to try again once babe is born ( not long now).
David Klein says he has seen people's health improve on 33/33/33, so I don't know, it just has to be an individual thing based on where you are at the time and maybe I can do 80/10/10 if I gradually adjust rather than cold turkey?!

great reply Dani, I would have to agree that to find or remember his fav raw foods from before would def be a go and if need be 'flavour them up' to entice him in the short term, then back it down to the norm, as in the  straight raw food, when he's eating them again. Even if he only has a smaller portion of these each day it is all progress to you bringing him back to what you know is best.
You are doing a great job, be encouraged and know your efforts will be rewarded.

Much love

sounds yum! I make a salad using many of these ingred's, adding in tomato and a splash of nama shoyu. It is a delish flavour blend. Quantities would be great when you find them.
thanks for posting!
