I am sad that I no longer live in Tassie because this date is my birthday. However as my  heart belongs in Hobart, I will be with you in spirit. I hope many of you Taaie rawbies can get together and celebrate!  yahh

Frangipanni I am not sure whether he will get the kudos he is seeking. He is seen as a bit of an outsider among McDougall, Esselstyn et al. He is too keen on saying I am wonderful. However he is taking diets in the right direction. When I posted about raw, he just said add some beans to you raw diet.

You know people in the US are seeking ways to improve their health. That is good!

Hi all I am resurecting this thread because I want to tell everyone who took part in it that they are wonderful. After having put my toe, rather cautiously, in the water. I thought I should do some reading to find out what has been happening around the place. Well I started at the first post and it kept me spellbound. I rejoiced with you and I wept when the sharks dragged MG down into the depths. I read on hoping that she somehow resurfaced, but deep in my heart I knew she wouldn't, sigh. Miss Giggles you are far to unforgiving to yourself. However I understand completely.

Have I ever told you that you are a woman of high integrity. Others would just see this as a minor slip, but not you. I admire this in you tremendously.

So ladies, thansk for a great, thread and hope to see another one like it soon.

Winners all!

Hi Frangipanni, gosh I wondered how yoyu were getting along. Yes, it is, but as I have said all along, Joel Fuhrman just stole a raw food diet, complete with green smoothies and put his name to it, lol

For those wondering, after I left this site, I joined Dr Fuhrmans site. Mainly because it was a private, pay to use site and no fanatics allowed. Most people gravitate to the raw part of this way of eating and his diet plan Eat to Live is pretty good. Of course it is geared towards getting Americans to eat more healthily.
From the top of my head the food plan consists of, 1 pound of greens raw, 1 pound of greens cooked, 1 cup of beans, 1-2 ounces of nuts, 2 ounces of avacado, 1 starchy vegetable, 2-6 pieces of fruit. The best thing of course is the green smoothies and I learn that green peas go wonderfully well in a GS.

I stayed there for as long as I could, but JF has a huge ego. Not surprising as he used to be a figure skating champion. I stopped my subscription earlier this year.

Much nicer here, I agree frangipanni.

Jen Caitlyn can use her cups anywhere she likes. Even in the garden if she so desires.

Yes Neet I am still living with my sister in Perth. I was very involved with my daughter, but things suddenly became rather troubled. So now I am taking time out for me and doing what I want to do in life.

I am finding solace in walking, always a favourite way of being with myself. I have a new grandson, Cody who turns one this week. I am not loving the winter and I really am looking forward to summer. Other than that, I am pretty much the same as I was last year.

I read some threads and learnt a little about your personal life. So very glad to know everythiing is working out for you now. Life can be so very confusing  sometimes. No use looking back, we can only learn from these experiences and go forward.

Cheers, Joss

Gosia that sounds great. Sad I can't make it, smile. I could really do with a warm, spiced apple juice at the moment. It is a tad cold down here in Bridgetown.

Still growing fruit trees and other goodies in your garden?

Karen we all need support no matter where we are in our raw journeys. If we are sailing along, or struggling trying to get through just one meal raw.  Many people don't understand how hard it can be to give up a lifelong habit. This is especially true for women because food is at the very core of who we are.

Loving it back here.

Joss

Thanks Gosia, Lou and Jen!

I was going back over the old forum posts, back to 1995 and I saw a lot of your posts Lou. I loved those early days of the forum. Everyone was so supportive of each other, it was so comforting.

Gosia I was also very happy to see your sparkly signature again. It seems the Tassie group are still around and going strong!
