I find if I eat heaps of fruit I can eat until I am full, not have that always hungry feeling and not gain weight.

I am starting to think my constant hunger was possibly a lack of certain nutrients my body was crying out for.

i still have food cravings but I am a work in progress at the moment.

I would recommend the 80/10/10 book.

17 Jun heading over and then back home 30th.  If I had the money I would love to stay and crew for a friend of mine at Badwater but such is life.

"I am so glad You were asking Grant after 6FT, which resulted in the link to this forum and my going raw."

me too mate, me too.

re blisters - I think that is why I am enjoying the bike.  It mixes it up allowing you to keep getting some training in even when you have had enough running / walking.

thanks grant.

the interesting thing is the food I really craved for did not satisfy me in the way I imagined.  So you are left with a double disappointment.  Firstly 'cause you strayed from raw and secondly because it was not as good as you imagined.

I use to be totally addicted to bread but now it has lost its hold.  Since every time I eat it all I feel is bloated.

thanks guys.

I am afraid I fell of the wagon a little on the weekend so did not do the whole 100% but still went pretty well.

Ran 38km Saturday morning and was surprised to feel so good in the afternoon I went out for another 7km.  Then Sunday morning got up early and went for a 85km bike ride and then headed out later that day for a family bike ride.  I can not believe how far I am going on a breakfast of bananas.

I think I have to work on what I eat since I have had some digestive problems but I have been very happy with how I am feeling.  Night time is my hardest time for staying raw!

I was worried about costs but it looks like I may be able to score cheap organic bananas from a friend of my wife’s.

I have started composting and the house hold garbage is almost nothing which is so cool.

well I have been playing with the raw idea for a while and slowly transitioning toward the 80/10/10.  I have the book and it really makes sense to me.  So I kind of have been following it.  When I say kind of I am still eating some things cooked and have been eating essene bread which does not really fit.  I also still have an espresso in the morning 'cause I could not imagine not drinking one.

But even in this transition phase I have started to feel pretty good. I am riding my bike for about an hour and then immediately back it up with running for about 1.5 hrs each day and yet I am not that stiff and sore.  I usually walk like a rusty tin man.  I am tired but each day I head out and once out there I have plenty of energy for my work out.

Now in 7 weeks time I will be in the US for a 100 mile trail run (Western States).  I was thinking I would just keep doing what I was doing and see what happened but a recent posting on Dr D's board made me realise that not to give 100% is silly and so I am going 100% raw from this point on.  It is 80/10/10 to the Western States and beyond.

I feel a bit scared committing myself so openly but I think I need to.  For if I don't I will keep having a morning coffee and some cooked food here and there and will not get the full benefit of such a diet.

So this is my adventure and as I see it the only failure is not getting out there and trying.

pretty cool site.  Hey a pic speaks a thousand words and your pics pretty much says it all for a fruitarian lifestyle.

Rudi are you talking about beer?

I am afraid my addiction is Frys vegie burgers with sweet chilli sauce.  I believe Bret is right with the calorie thing.  I just seem to be having an issue getting enough low fat calories in.  Oh how I love all those fat plant foods!!

but sometimes food grown in its natural area and shipped works out better for the environment than food grown in a climate that doesn't really suit.

"All of life comes to us with ease, joy and glory."

for me some days it does and some days it doesn't.  Today is not one of those days.  I think I may be understanding what detox is about.  Plus I am not sure I can look at another banana again.  I thnk my cooked food addiction is trying to reassert itself.
