1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / Re: saggy eyelid- strange but true! on: Wednesday 28 February, 2007

oh dragonfly.. that means a ton to me! i really felt silly posting the eyelid thing but everyone here is so friendly, nonjudgemental and inspiring.
i love it when people post another fantastic reason they stay raw, it makes it easier to keep on that path you know has nothing but benefits great or small.

if i could make one suggestion id say green smoothie! i use a recipe rawgreengoddess posted ::takes another sip:: and it is my new favorite food- er drink- er smoothie!

brought a jug of it to work today (clear jug too) and even put it in the company fridge. (bold move i know!) just slapped a note on it that said "dont panic! mesha's green smoothie is harmless."  and kept in mind durianrider's(?) advice: "take advice from those who look/feel the way you want to"... and let the critisms roll right off my shoulder Smiley

thanks again miss 'fly

2  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Going raw...without falling off the wagon. on: Monday 26 February, 2007

support support support, thats what pulls me through. whenever i feel weak or question myself on going raw i come to this site and read all the knowledgeable things, benefits, and experiences each member has shared.. and YOU are one of those awesome members swamigirl!

also, my boyfriend is so supportive of my change that he got me a blender for velentines day and i never looked back.  when i want a bite of his pizza (he's not raw) its almost as if it hurts his feelings because i have made it sooo far.  and i blend myself a gs and im OKay.

as far as the emotions of not eating- the master cleanse put me through a whirlwind- it was beyond tough and i stopped exactly on day 10, so i can somewhat relate.  eating is tricky stuff

what works for me is arming myself with knowledge so i fully understand why raw is actually treating yourself like a goddess

i have paid a visit to that section, looks like i have a lot of catching up to do!- also seems as though there is some terriffic support as well.

4  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: What's your raw food Superhero name? on: Monday 26 February, 2007

i wanted a fantastic superhero name as well soooo...... ehhh, uhh, hmmm...

i shall be Miss WondeRaw! ... knows fruits n veggies beat all!  rolleyes

oh my. so it could use some work, but maybe with some super hero status i can fend off that double layer lasagna with fresh mozzerella momma made... yikes!

5  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / Re: saggy eyelid- strange but true! on: Saturday 24 February, 2007

hmm.. that is pretty interesting!  maybe all kinds of crazy things will pop out of my skin too... ewww lol

rgg you'd be proud to know i have been ever so faithful to my green smoothie! i get excited to make one every morning. even brought some to work for friends to try- looks gross tastes great.

actually i like the gs color..

while we are talking about amazing healing, what is your take on the live foods and curing/altering/diminishing clinical depression?
i've only been raw for a month or so, but this is a benefit i hope to gain from it.
do i stand a chance?

6  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / saggy eyelid- strange but true! on: Thursday 22 February, 2007

this is so minor and kind of petty- but im amazed that after going raw my eyelid stop drooping!

when i was 12 i fell on the ice and hit my head, around my eyebrow which swelled up almost golf ball size.

in turn, the delicate eye skin stretched a bit.. but it was one of those things people dont notice unless you point it out, or in pics it looked like i would squint my right eye more.

welp, after one month raw (& 11 years since the fall)- for some strange unexplainable reason- it went away!

strange but true, indeed.

i, luckily never had any major physical health problems to battle so something like this is pretty cool to me.
7  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Re: mmmm chocolate..whats going on here?! on: Monday 19 February, 2007

rawGG: aww why thank you- and same to you! i hope i start to glow as you seem to! very inspiring!

jenniem: i do have dried dates, which are way too sweet!  the more veggies i eat the more the chocolate cravings seem to vanish

& im super excited to make an excellent green smoothie in the a.m.- spinach, kiwi, mango, grapes- the works!

::sigh:: if bringing the master cleanse lemonade to work for 10 days wasnt cause for enough critism, just wait till i show up with thick green delicious smoothie.

these women live to eat- they treat health food like a crime- its ashame.
& im the only lady in the cubicle-crammed-stale place who doesnt get sick!
another good on me, huh?!

i have to confess

i went home

congrats!

i used zuccini
lettuce
kiwi
banana
& pear = yum indeed
10  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Re: mmmm chocolate..whats going on here?! on: Saturday 17 February, 2007

maybe so.. before going raw i was never much of a fruit eater.
..welp the raw chocolate sounds pretty tatsy, but after browsing the boards
i think im more tempted by these green smoothies you speek of...

cant wait to give them a whirl!
i think ive been trying my hand at a lot of "gourmet" raw cooking and perhaps i need to simplify a bit.
(easier on the budget too.. i dont know where this cheap bountiful organic is in the U.S., but its not here in maryland!)

maybe things will balance.. and i hope i get the energy back that i had during the cleanse.
amaazing energy!

thanks for the input ladies!

11  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / mmmm chocolate..whats going on here?! on: Saturday 17 February, 2007

after completeing a 10 day master cleanse, i immediatly plunged into the raw lifestyle (3 weeks raw now) and i couldnt be more thrilled!

my only concern is, i crave and eat massive amounts of chocolate- like hershey kisses- which is terrible! i never used to eat chocolate like this, but now my body demands it!

what do you think it is in chocolate that my body might need. perhaps a certain mineral dificiency? which one...?

anyone else experience this..

please.. make it stoooop!

xo
