2  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Strength training with Yoga exercises? on: Saturday 26 July, 2008
Hello again!

Through the topic of body weight exercises (BWE) I became curious:
Has anyone of you tried to use certain yoga exercises for strength training?

Bye

My idea was to mix carrots with selery, apple and either the soaking water or the soaked arame, dulse, nori and this kind of stuff.

What do you think?

P.S.
Thanks Jennie :-)

Hello!

I did some more or less fruitless research on self made sports drinks.

I am looking for drink that contains only vegetables and/or fruit and/or nuts whether fresh, dried or whatsoever. No minerals or refined things whatsoever, e.g. salt or sugar.

Any experience on that?

Bye

Hi Jennie!

Thanks I am fine with that.

I started this about 4-5 weeks ago. So I really cannot about any long term effects... We will see...

Kind of weird, but I like the sour taste; it 'out-tastes' everythings else... Wink

Hi everyone!

Something I want to share:

I always read about the green smoothies or green juices and most of you love. I should do so, too - I always thought. And I tried. But most them tasted ... well ... not too good. Smiley huh

Now, by accidence, I came across the healthful properties of apple vinegar and chose to mix it into my green juices. And now - a miracle for me - I can juice and mix about any juice I want and it tastes great (for me).

The last I did, yesterday, was:
juice of broccoli, alfalfa, apples, cucumber, coriander, parsley, salat, carrots, sellery, lemon
plus apple vinegar Smiley
plus 1/2 avocado
plus lots of oil from hemp seeds, olives & thistle

bye

Hi MangoGoddess!

Do you have any link or book title as a reference that the chinese in ancient times used raw food?  I'd love to read it. I even would learn chinese, sanskrit or whatsoever to read it...

This was also a 'missing link' for me...

Thanks

Andreas

I think the Essener were raw foodists. There are quotations from Jesus or the Esserners (not sure) about raw foodism. Doing a qucik search I found this: http://www.soystache.com/jesus.htm

Don't know if this qualifies for a 'population/race'?

11  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Drinks / Re: Curiosity: juicing nettles - how about the toxins? / link... on: Saturday 10 March, 2007
Hi ggx!

Principally you can mix the juice with anything and of course you can use them in smoothies... As I wrote they are contact poisonous and the question still is unanswered: what happens when you juice it and drink it. Will it  interfer with your body in a negative way?
All main poisonous ingridients (Acetylcholine, Histamine, and Serotonin) are substances that we also have in our body...

Since I came to know about nettles I love - unless I have to touch them... ;-)  They are one of the best tonics available, almost as good as ginseng. You can use the whole plant as well as the seeds. The nettles conatin an extremly high content of iron. So if you want to mix add some alfalfa sprouts because they are extremly rich in vit. C and thats what you need to absorb iron properly.

On the other hand: every plant/fruit/vegetable is a remedy on its own. Therefore too much might do harm. Kepp that in mind!

Hi all!

Just another curios question I am thinking about:
If I juice nettles: what about their toxin within their tiny little hairs? They contain Acetylcholine, Histamine, and Serotonin.

BTW -
an excellent link on nettles: http://www.bio.davidson.edu/people/kabernd/seminar/2001/home/mad/nettles/home.html
and on "Contact-Poisonous Plants of the World": http://mic-ro.com/plants/index.html
