Have'nt been around for a while with family probs.  Still maintaining 100% raw must be 3 1/2 months now.  Coming into winter so hope I can continue.

I have meet ups with a rawbie in Balmain as have been unable to get to the Sydney raw group meetups.  Hopefully you can meet up one day in this direction   yahh

Been doing basically 80/10/10 but do love raw cashew cheese on top.  I think I need to eat a bit more as I only weigh 95 lbs and I'm not doing raw to lose weight but to be fit and healthy.

Just ordered a spiralizer so am looking forward to using it and making some delicious dishes.  Ordered raw kelp noodles which are very nice but had to be posted from USA.

Joybel are all your get togethers on Sundays?  I can't make it if they are.  I live in Camden, anyone else in this direction, it's an hour south of Sydney.

Thanks Joybell,  I'll check it out.  I want to eat this way for the rest of my life as it has made me so fit and well.
I see you are also in Sydney. Do you go to raw food meetups? I only know of one other person around me that is raw and we meet up usually at my place.

Hi everyone, I've been 100% raw now for 48 days and want to go on a raw food retreat.  Is there an address that anyone can give me for this in NSW?  Want my dh to go with me as he eats all the raw food but still likes cooked too.  I think a retreat for a weekend would be great for both of us.  Prior to 48 days ago I was doing raw but every now and then having a bit of cooked and was like that for 5 months.  I'm so glad to have actually made 100% now and want to keep this as my way of life.  Managed to stop taking meds for stomach ulcer, meds for asthma and meds for arthritis.  So I have a lot of reasons for staying raw, it's a great way to live.

I have to agree 811 is a great informative read.

Sorry RoR about your asthma attack.  I hope you can find the info that you need. I had asthma 14 years and on meds.  I started a raw food diet in July after reading about a 63 yo who had asthma all her life and went raw and lost the asthma. So trusting this I threw away the meds and went raw.  I haven't had an asthma attack since or any asthma symptoms BUT this is only a coupla months and different seasons may still have an effect.  I read also that apples and pineapple are VERY good for the lungs and I am eating huge amounts each day.

May I've just been reading through your journal and I love those photos. You are really looking great and it must be a huge incentive to you to keep raw and keep beautiful. Congratulations.  Life often throws us curlies doesn't it and really the only thing to do about it it to press onward.  You are a champion.
I'm a skinny minny and am hoping to level out soon so am only into raw for the good health benefits which I have read are many I actually began because I read of a woman 63 yo, who had had severe asthma all her life with many hospitalisations  but when she began eating 100% raw it totally went.  I had asthma too and I no longer take any medication even after only a short time. Hooray.

Hi May, the art course is at the Tafe, life art, it was the last night and we had to do collage and sketch over it.  Not quite where my interest is but good training.  I'm really into watercolour and have sold a few. Yes, I gues I'm fairly young looking and want to keep it that way with raw.  Have you ever done a fast? I wonder if that would speed up the detox?  I'm off to bed now as we get up at 5.45am.  :yawn:Nighty night.

Hello May, I live in Victoria at the moment but we are moving to NSW end of December and will be living 1 hour south of Sydney.  I began the dreaded M when I was 53 and am now 61.  Wish I had known about raw back then but I only found out about it in July this year and then began transitioning. Prior to that I was reasonably good with eating and was on a mainly vegetarian diet with lots of fruit and veg.  I started with Fred Patenaude's book and just recently bought Dr.D's book 811.  I really enjoyed it especially the food combining info. My husband, Peter, isn't raw so I still cook sad food but he does eat all the raw foods that I eat as well as his own! My hubby is 52 so I did a bit of cradle snatching years ago!!! He keeps me very young. Hope to hear from you when you get back from the dentist but I will be at my art group until 9 pm.

Hello May,  I am just sorting my way around the site and found your journal.  You are amazing. It's a success story and all through finding raw and sticking to it.  I am wanting to stick to it too as have already experienced benefits but haven't had much detox. I want it so I can go forward.

That's great VMMS - you have done so well with your weight too but that exercise you do must help a lot.  Great that you are running at 51- this is a whole new you with a whole new life - congratulations. I used to go to a gym about 10 years ago and I was very into aerobics back then (Iwas a ballet dancer years ago!) also did a gym circuit and water aerobics but in the end menopause got to me and I got toooooo tired. Don't mean to be stealing this thread!!Sorry

Hi VMMS - I walk for about an hour every day as I have 2 dogs. What do you do?  I am thinking of going to the gym to do some weights and get some strength into my skinny arms!! Do you live in NSW?

Hi everyone, I've been raw for a coupla months (100%) and began at 53 kg but have dropped to 43 kg and everyone is telling me I'm too thin, even dh but I feel good and have read a bit about detox and am assured that at some point, when toxins are more eliminated, that I will even out.  Annie

Just want to add to this - Are there any raw foodies in country Victoria?  We are moving to NSW at the end of the year and would love to meet up with other raw people.  We will be an hour south of Sydney
