hi all,
well besides yesterday snack *runs and hides in the corner* i have been really good and really enjoying my new found love for water!! i also love the fact i can just eat and eat lol devoured half a watermelon and half a rock melon on the way home from school. now that normally would have been 6 or so scotches at home so anyone can see that thats a little better!! back to not sleeping though grrrr thought it may have done the trick with the change in diet but its almost increased it as i have so much more energy. didnt get up the bluff today was a little overwhelmed with the amount of work i had to do today - teaching just never stops. oh well. got to fly tonite as i have parent teacher interviews tomorrow have to get things ready
love and hugs to all

hi all,
another fabby day today - had to see my doc and he is wrapped about my change to raw. they are even talking about a drop in medications which will be awesome. rockmelon seems to be the fruit of choice today and picked up some rather juicy white nectrines.
dear raw sensation - nope no headaches all gone and i hope for good but we will see. the mountain climb to the bluff each day is surly helping that too, even though the legs are telling me a different story!!
speeds - garden is going slowly. going to take some pics this afternoon for a before and after look. starting to lay the underground dripper system - very messy but hopefully my dog wont eat this system up this time lol.
love to all

hi all,
what a wonderful day!! by 10am i was at the top of the bluff down here which overlooks the entire south coast! chilling on a gs at the top followed by some watermelon. have decided i am going to climb to the top of the mother of all hills everyday from now on. the view is awesome. will post some pics of it when i work out how to do it lol. raw dinner coming up as i went to the markets and got a luscious range of fresh fruit and veg to munch on!
thanks arwen and raw sensation on the cheese tips - makes me aware of why i love the cheese aspect. havent had any callings for it though - watermelon and rockmelon reign in my life at the moment.
spent the afternoon with my cousin and his two children and found the most awesome shop down here with the most special stone necklaces that i know neet would just love!!
gotta fly for now
out for dinner with dad

hi all,
another day of raw!! so proud of myself!! had to really push myself through school and told the little rugrats that i had a very bad head and they needed to be kind to me. lol suprisingly enough they were!! who said little ones dont have empathy!
got a good 8 hours sleep last night and i havent had 8 hours in about 2 years. lets just hope that i can do that without a migraine. but i think its promising! I cant believe that i am not craving my coffee!! a teacher that doesnt drink coffee?? unheard of lol but im doing it! its so handy having the little fridge in the classroom. Had a lovely lot of watermelon, rockmelon, grapes and carrots for recess and had got up and made this awesome salad with RGG's amazing recipe for salad dressing. even the kids said that it looked wonderful. did come home early from school after they went home because the head is so much better but still not 100%. so im sitting back munching on pineapple and apples. yum.

fruitypie - thank you for your kind words. i would like to think that i am a good friend - i know i do get really drained from people sometimes and i have learnt the hard way the need to eliminate friendships that are detrimental to you when the people involved have no intention of changing themselves for the better. i guess i have always just thought the best of people and that if you call someone a friend then they could not possibly be detrimental. i had the choice to either make my life better or basically end up back where i started 3yrs ago in intensive care and i just didnt want that. so slowly as i have regained my confidence and my life i have just made change after change. keeping the energised loving people around me.

oh forgot to mention that the weekend will be spent composting the earth outside my classroom as (already had programmed for it at the start of the year) our class is going to be growing a herb garden to care for. i love growing things with the children and they love it too. any suggestions of really quick growing ones? we wont be planting till later on in the year.

anyway time to do some more learning from the equisite people in this site.

dear speedy,
love the idea re:cheese will let you know how i go. yes i think i am patting myself on the back as i am under a range of pressure from all sorts of areas in my life. but i can already see the positive impact this will have in my life as i nurture what i should have nurtured a long time ago. i delved a little into this in your journey post.
its amazing - i talk to ben everynite on webcam and even though i have only been drinking smoothies for a week (started before i took the forum plunge) but ben said he can already see the difference in my face and skin. i also noticed in some of the health and beauty threads that some people have problems with their long hair. well my hair has been fowl the last 3 months and the last 2 washes has seen it rejuvinate tenfold - can only be this lovely fruit and veg flowing around me - as thats the only change!!
anyway going to take neets advice and rest up now

Hi all,
Thanks May for you guidance on the water lol i do believe i am regaining some tastebuds!! cheesy
yes i cant stand being apart from ben... it is incredibly hard and is getting harder each time i or he visit each other. expecially since we are just growing closer every second as our relationship continues. i dont know how much closer we can get besides the geological issue lol
I had a dreadful day ... i actually thought my head was going to explode and have had to crack it on the head with some major pain killers. thankfully i had a back appointment and the 9 things out of place in my neck was certainly a factor in the migrane. My chiro was over the moon about my decision to add raw to my life and was sucking my brains on the limited knowledge i have learnt so far. the head has settle a little and i have managed to stay raw until my tiny 1/2 cup of vanilla yoghurt. i think milk products are going to give me my biggest battle lol. coming off a dairy farm i just love milk in any way shape or form and cheese is one of my favorite things. i've been looking at a lot of the recipes and there seem to be a lot of alternatives but any tips on which are the fabbiest ones would be great.
anyway going to have a real quiet night tonight and nibble on some mango. yummmm

hi all,
thanks dani - i cant wait to get to perth 1 month 1 say 20 hours lol!!
not such a good day today but i have stayed firm. the headache turned to migrane. wasnt particularly happy with that especially when the nausea hit but i am sure its all part of the detox too. so i made the logical decision not to go to work as i could barely move without being ill. have perked up a little now - made a gs and added quite a lot of pineapple - was awesome and now munching on my second orange and starting to feel a little better but my head is still killing me so i will keep this brief. am dowing as much water as i can - and surprisingly water is seeming to grow with taste!
ciao ciao for now

hi all,

thanks speedy - i will try to have an excellent day!! we are off to the local wetlands to look at the little critters in the water!! im sure i will need an awesome juice to recover from taking 23 five year olds with me lol
im also seeing my girlfriend who lost her mother to cancer on monday night - very sad. she is 8 months pregnant and suffering with depression and i am doing my very best to support her. so i think i will be craving sleep by tomorrow.
it also was a tramatic weekend with my other girlfriend who gave birth to a tiny wee 1kg baby on sunday nite. she was only 29 weeks into her pregnancy of her very first child. so its been a bumpy ride. the poor little mite is in special care at the moment. so i continue to send good thoughts and prayers their way.
hope everyone has an awesome day tomorrow

hi all,
just explaining my pic - the lovely man next to me is my partner ben and he lives in perth - and i miss him terribly being all the way over here in south australia. yet i have the count down happening for my long service leave which is in 1 month 2 days and 12hours (not that Im counting lol) and I will be spending nearly 4 months in Perth. He was fascinated by the decision for me to go raw (or begin the journey that is) and he said well we will have to do it together then when your hear!! (i know he wont give up his meat but he is really interested with the gs) I am also hoping that having the warmer weather for a little longer may help me battle the winter as I know even neet found this a challenge way back in the beginning of her raw adventure. Ben was really excited for me and said he will continue to give me all the encouragement and support for anything i choose to do. It was so wonderful to know he will support me with this when I am over there.

Thank you Neet and Speedy,
Well I had my dinner and so far so good. Cooked dad some grilled fish but I was already half full from the salad and a plum or two so I havent ventured to the fish. As for the water lol that was the bain of my beloved late mums existance!! They had a very busy life and I think my first words were Coke please!! I'm getting some great information out of the recipes. Have bought myself a new recipe book so I can jot down one that I think will be yummy - and thats looks like its going to be most of them. Only thing I have never been keen on is tomato's which there seems to be a lot of recipes including those little rascals. Oh well. I can't believe this is so much fun!! I actually feel excited.
I have organised to start doing yoga once a week on a thursday night. Which I have been going to do forever but I thought if I've decided to give my body the nutrion it deserves through this then yoga is surely going to be the easy bit! I used to do yoga in Adelaide so it will make a welcome return. I have self-hypnosis CD's on sleep and they are lucky they dont have a money back guarentee with them. But I do find peace with a wide range of relaxation music that I will have on softly throughout the whole night. Then if I stir I hear that and it helps me stay asleep. And it was interesting to read about the body resting. I actually did that tonight after I came home from school. My head was so sore I just layed down and used muscle relaxation techniques to just 'calm' myself. I think the watermelon smoothie helped as well. I also like warming my heat bag that has lavander in it also. I find the lavander increadibly relaxing and the heat bag(s) give me some relief from my back as well.
I loved the marathon analogy it was so true. I know I may stumble but like mum always said to me 'Tough times don't last but tough people do' and I'd like to think I'm a little tougher than I was in the past years.
Thanks for all the wonderful information so far

To all those lovely people who wrote the above,
I cannot believe that I got through this day at all. I had a dreadful sleep (suffer really badly with insomnia) and managed about 2hours and when the alarm went off for school I was not in the least motivated to get up and going. Yet I pushed myself and got out to make a green smoothie to start the day. I am sure that this was the only thing that keep me going today, as by 2pm I had the most dreadful sleep deprived headache.
I made enough to take to school in my little new thermos and I actually have a fridge in the classroom to keep it cold so the extra boost at recess was great. I have actually had raw all day. Took a huge load of grapes, mango, watermelon (and ate the seeds Neet!!) apple and peach with me to have with recess and lunch. Oh and some nuts. Came home quiet early and instead of a alcoholic beverage for finishing work I made myself a watermelon smoothie. Just making a rather gigantic salad for dinner - not sure yet if I will have anything cooked as I am making dinner for dad too, but the way I feel at the moment I dont think I will.
I have found the recipes and juices/smoothies that say assist with insomnia - guidance here please - when should I be taking them? I find if I go to or try to go to sleep before about midnight I have no hope of sleeping more than 3 hours. Any suggestions would be awesome.
As Neet will know I am not and never have been a water drinker and I found myself very thirsty at school because I normally have a cordial with me to keep me going with my voice. I did force down the water and I am sure as I become more disiplined that will be fine. smiley I hope lol.
Some of the messages on this site are truly awe inspiring and I feel so lucky to be able to share with such genuine people. Thank you for making me feel ever so welcome and supported.
