1231  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / Re: All Natural Hair? on: Tuesday 03 July, 2007
Ok Ladies, I just made this exquisite recipe and used it on my own hair...it feels like SILK...PURE SILK I tell you!!
My hair is to my bottom and very thick and curly, it took to this raw natural treatment with enthusiasm and drank it all in...

The scrub: Bi-carb soda...for me I used 2Tbs because I have thick long hair...

I soaked 4 chamomile teabags in warm water..(Hot enough, but not enough to burn your finger) and then added 4tbs apple cider vinegar (This is the rinse...after the scrub)

Then I grabbed some rosemary and lavendar form the garden and bruised it between my fingers to release the oils and soaked it in some warm  water with some olive oil...(I used tbs olive oil for my hair)...this is the conditioner.
Leave it soaking whilst you wash your hair

Wet hair in cold water and add enough water to the soda to make a paste, massage through hair and on scalp...rinse with cold water.

Add the rinse and massage through....rinse with warm water

Strain and squeeze every last drop out of the rosemary and lavendar...mix and Add the conditioner to your head and massage well through...leave in for a few minutes and rinse...or keep it in...the residue of oils left in the cup made an excellent moisteriser that I applied to my face and massaged in.

heres what my hair looked like and me with no make up after I had massaged my face with the oil residue...( I stained my lips with blueberry from a fresh berry!)

Let me know if you use it and what you think...it is heavenly and smells devine!!..byt he way I didnt use and hairspray or mousse...YAYAYAYAYAYAY...Berry A La Natural!!!

I am going to try washing my hair in camomile tea with bi-carb soda

1 &1/2 cups water for 4 tea bags
1tbs bi-carb

massage in and leave in for a few min, rinse with some apple cider vinegar diluted in water.

Condition: Olive oil with rosemary oil applied to roots and ends, massaged...warm in warm towel for 15 min, rinse.

Also, a dry shampoo for those of you interested: cornflour sprinkled in your hair and leaft for a minute or two then brushed out, leave it oil free and shiny

Aaawww thanks FreedomB, I dont like shampoo, makes me get very itchy scalp and dry flakes from lack of natural oils, I do however use conditioner because my hair is so long and think, other wise I cannot brush it. I have yet to try a natural conditioner. I also use cocoa butter, massaged in from roots to ends and also olive oil towel wraps.

Emily...you go girl...this is the best choice you can make in your life...to give yourself "LIFE"
If you need any support, I am here...we are all here, remember to not be so hard on yourself if you slip back to some cooked foods, slowly progress to 100% raw, perhaps have raw breakfast and lunch and lightly cooked dinner until you do not need it anymore Smiley

YOU CAN DO IT AND IT FEELS FANTASTIC

Hello Nudgy...children are welcome...as I have 3 of my own...I was thinking...everyone bring a dish (with something on it!!) to share.

Are you interested in coming?...Perhaps also an idea would be to have it earlier..say at lunchtime at a park so the children can play...we have an excellent park not far from my house...what do you think?

Look forward to hearing from ya!
