1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / Paw paw, avo and tomato stuffed mushrooms! on: Tuesday 28 October, 2008
So yummy, i much prefer paw paw in savoury dishes rather than in sweet.

finely dice paw paw (no skin or seed bed), avo and tomato .( Pretty much of equal quantities but a bit less tomato or too watery), Salt and pepper if your into that, stir roughly as to mush it up a bit and spoon into button mushrooms (stalks removed) drizzle with olive oil and serve on bed of dark green leaves.

you cant realy taste the paw paw, it is such an amazing fruit, it just subtley blends in and the out come is so smooth and sensuous.

enjoy!

grind dried coconut in spice grinder till simular consistancy.

4  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Light headed and need advice on: Monday 21 April, 2008
I have whole fruits.

I have started the day all week with a smoothie with almond milk(1/2 cup) banana, 2 whole plums and watermelon, all or different combos of fruit and am feeling heaps better. I feel the fat in the almond milk must be making the sugars release slower. When i have greens too it is even better, really went off them for a bit but getting into it now.

Given up on fruit salad at this stage, fresh juice and blending seems to do the trick for me in the morning.

cheers for your replies

Good points, i hear you there and appreciate the knowledge from your experiece.
I cut out the fats for that 10 days i mentioned and felt dizzy all the time and i ate so much fruit. how does that work.  Can see why i would be hesitant to do no fat for a month? (and just out of curiosity do you mean no fat or a wee bit?)
I dissagree that 60% of my energy comes from fat. in a day i would have 1/4 oil, and 1/2 nuts thats it on average. The rest is veg and fruit.
you say you feel worse after oils/fats, well i seem to feel better and clearer. it is in the morning or times i eat just fruit that that i usually cant 'get up and go'. Is this just highlighting our differences? not sure. but i am happy to kepp listening and experimenting.

I made a big juice this morning and feel better than most mornings, haven't had anything else yet and 9:45. thanks for the advice everyone. Juicing more may well also be how to combat the dizziness, i am remembering when i added juices in the past i felt better.

Hey love spirit! i am on chaper 5, just got the book so i might just skip to it for a quick peak , thanks.

Its true i dont feel like eating in the morning some days, i will go with it and see, i thought fruit was the only option for best health in the morning, because of the detox factor. but i think i could do veg and see how i go.
i am doing a juice fast over next weekend with hubby so will see how i feel after a bit of a cleanse.

thanks for sharing your tales guys, it is good to hear.

i ate only fruit and veg no fats for 10 days to clear candida bout and it worked but gee it was the worst time of my eating raw, i was constantlt lightheaded and vague, high fruit too. perhaps a shock to the system and also the high sugar thing, dont know but i enjoy eating fats( oils and nuts) daily, i am not ready for such a subtle diet yet.

Well i sleep about 9 hour a night with a few nights breifly woken by my daughter who is 2, but daddy gets up to her (he he he arent i lucky)
i dont exercise much and this i feel is a bad cycle as i feel to tired or light headed to exersice and or when i get going it can worsen.
i rest all a mother can, not much, but find time to knit or study or garden when she sleeps 2hr in arvo. i lead a busy lifestyle, very social, study, mummy and work.
Average day
i have medium bowl of fruit salad (4-5 pieces of fruits and melon chopped up) and or banana smoothie 500ml (banana, water, maca)
Snack on 3-4 pieces of fruit till noon
lunch big salad with veg lettuse random greens and  small handful of nuts, with salad dressing (after this meal i feel much more together for the rest of the day pretty much)
Snack on veges ( carrot or two , broccoli, capsicum, whatever i have) and dip (dip not always raw eg homous or pesto or mayo), 2-3 fruit and or 1/4 cup nuts
Dinner simular to lunch some times with small bit of hubbys cooked meal or my own raw creation.
Some times have dried fruit in day or after dinner.
I have wine a few times a week no noticed connection to dizzyness (as in next day), i drink herbal tea almost daily and normal tea once or twice a week.
Was having dairy a bit but have recently cut it out to see how i go. but still dizzy with or with out at this stage.

I think that is all. Hope that gives you a better idea.

I have gone off green smothies but i should start again. how much is enough do you think. i usually have 500mls of GS and it has a small bunch of greens in it, say 2 silverbeet and a good handful of randoms from the garden.
so you say you dont have dizziness any more i wonder if it just comes with time?
10  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Oven dehydrating on: Thursday 03 April, 2008

Hi all,
I have been stuggling with this for months now and keep pushing through but with no success. When i eat fruit in the morning often till noon, i am light headed. i have been on the raw journey for 6 months now about 80-90%.
No matter how much friut i eat i cant kick the spaced feeling. Once i eat lunch (salad and nuts) i am fine.
Had a patch were i ate veg and nuts in a platter for breakfast and i felt fabulous, thinking it may be better for 'me' Huh.

Appreciate the advice on this one and any one who could enlighten me phisiological what is gong on in my body that would be fab to, i am studying on the subjuct of nutritional biochemistry at the moment and i am interested.

My daughter is now two and today we had a very yummy lunch. I am so excited as i like to get raw food in her as much as possible. We played games at lunch around "Munching and Crunching" her food. she kept saying "Again! Again!" She had a brocolli, cucumber, buckwheat sprout, cabbage, pea and avocado salad, with yoghurt dressing. She liked it and i got her to say "i love brocoli!" so cute cause i dont think she really does, but the avo and yogurt do well to hide it. lol!!! We also had some corn, that she now prefers uncooked.
It was such a joy today!

Just a thought. it kept me going with my little one.
All the best for good sleeping and chilled times till bub comes.
