Slowly learning to trust Nature's wisdom has me loving Ben Harper doing a Toots and the Maytals "Love Gonna Walk Out on Me"
'as I see the morning sun
I know then that everything is all right
I can see her rushing to my door
and tell me that love's not gonna let me down
love's not gonna let me down"

...or words to that effect...

I have little crystal rainbows flying around in the morning sun...lucky me!

Ivan, you're such a sensitive, intuitive soul, I'm not suprised that you feel overwhelmed by the constant activity happening outside you. It seems to me that the challenge is believing in our own completeness enough to be with ourselves or even with other life forms and just  be, knowing and trusting that that is enough. I find myself often panicking at the state of the outside world, but I don't think it helps. I think it helps to have a calm mind and help a snail or a person, or admire a jasmine vine in the morning dew, enjoying a sunshower...focus creates the world. The media focuses on war and violence and political scandal but there is so much beauty and love to focus on and cultivate in our hearts, life, garden, home, health, family. I too feel distressed a lot of late, feeling that change is needed URGENTLY but this stresses me out and to learn patience and relax to see the interconnected perfect timing of everything unfolding does me a lot of good!

There are hundreds of apricots, plums and peaches forming in my backyard! Little parslies and lettuce booming...waiting for the spinach and capsicum seeds to emerge. Also the strawberries are starting to flower and it's just rained to create that feeling of a happy lush garden glad to have wet feet Smiley

Ooh sun lover, that sounds mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I once took one to a friends home and she chucked it in the bin thinking it was rotten! Lucky she had just changed the bin bag so I could still eat it!

I was dreaming of Black Russian tomatoes last night!

Before I squeezed 3kg of organic navel orange juice and munched on a few organic asparagus stalks which tasted of sesame sooo good I just ordered a 7kg box for friends and I!

Hey Jen Smiley You are doing great on your 100 day raw challenge! I was thinking about you this morning because I read of your pistaccio accident and it reminded me of me! I was thinking of how I find it really helpful to have a "raw section" in the cupboard so anything mistakable is easily identifiable. You are doing fab and I wish you all the very very best xoxoxox

You are a beautiful, kind, funny, intelligent woman, Gosia.

I have finally had the internet reconnected so only just glimpsed your photos of the potluck at your house. Thank you for posting those, very cute shots of 'Jaffa' Smiley

I was thinking about how you were a little torn about what you want to do with your raw food demo and thought perhaps you would feel better about doing a simpler recipe, like perhaps something savoury? I do relate to your pondering for sure.

Did you catch my mention on another thread that the fruit i brought to your house was Pepino?

Hope you are fabulous and at peace with food! xoxox

Sunday's picnic was just delightful! At first the dark clouds and wind had us looking for a warm, sheltered spot to dine in but after being asked by security to leave the hothouse we had set up in we found ourselves outside in a lovely sunny arfternoon! We had a beautiful spread of food...big bowls of organic greens, strawberries, papaya, apples, oranges, chocolate and carob desserts, fresh orange juice...decorated with edible flowers and served on big rugs that we relaxed on. Lou's vanilla banana orange topped cacoa pie was the hit. I must say I was very keen on the greens Jacana brought from his garden, especially the corn salad. We got out the frisbee and had wonderful chats about health, Earth, food, gardening and other catch-up fun. Gosia is planning an event for November and I cannot wait to see everyone again. We had 11 people along this ti me and I reckon these events are just going to grow and grow!

Thanks everyone for such a beautiful time!  yahh

Thanks for replies!

After a bit of soul searching I realised that I believe it is better for Jarrah to be having mainly breastmilk still. I had been feeling pressured to introduce solids, but deep down I believe bmilk is best! So he's back on the boob, just getting stems of greens to chew on sometimes...see how we go! He's goin real good...two weeks in sun in qld and he is a tanned little blonde, toothy, crawling dude! xo

Hello sweetheart Smiley

Gee it feels great to get back to the forum! So lovely to read through your writings. Your smile is such a lovely one, as is your infectous (in a good way!) laugh!

I love how you have so many great ideas on ways to help people to be healthier and happier. You inspire me muchly.

Thanks for all the fun last Thursday - it was one of the funnest days I've had in ages. The sun, the food garden, chatting, forraging...You help my soul to sing  laugh I think I enjoyed picking magic little cauli florets as much as you Smiley And you know that plant i thought was curry plant but it tasted like perfume? lol, well turns out that was certainly not it, but there is a curry plant at my new place, so there is another herb for you to play with if you fancy! If you do end up putting on this dinner party for us lucky peoples I know your creations will be just stunning! And if you feel like being simple just chuck some fruit and grteens in baskets for us - I won't complain! Especially if we can have a picnic on one of these incredible Spring days Smiley

I just realised that all the trees I've been seeing around Hobart that I thought looked like loquat trees but couldn't possibly be because it's too cold for them to grow here (they thrive in Brisbane), actually are loquats! What's more, the little fruits will be ripe in a couple of months!

I think this Saturday is the day to put in a big order for Sach's arrival. I'd like to get it in early though to ensure greens and bananas (short supply). Even in the next couple of days.

I appreciate ripe bananas sooo much after our onslaught! I like mine much riper now, and gobble down brown bits knowing they taste great! For anyone reading, our organic wholesale supplier, lovely peoples, offered us over 10 boxes of very ripe bananas for free as the organic farmer who usually takes their compost was away and they didn't want to dump them. So our freezers are stocked with summer icecream/smoothie bananas!

On Saturday I stayed outside after dark and ate my massive bowl of greens with just 2 blood oranges blended with a little water, in the backyard, stargazing at the first star (or planet!)...beautiful....

Oh, and if you ever want to borrow my camera, for any of your food demos and such feel free. I'm planning on starting a new journal with lots of photos when I am settled our new place and have internet.

Enjoy this beautiful gusty September day! Lots of love xoxox   yahh

15  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Recipes - Meals & Snacks / Re: Fennel & Blood Orange Salad on: Monday 15 September, 2008
Yummy yummy gals! No organic fennel bulbs to buy in Tassie but I was nibbling on some young fennel leaves in the bush (they grow wild here) and after your inspirations I wanna make a salad with the last few blood oranges in my citrus basket. I love adding a few blood oranges to my navel orange juice - and i love the colour Smiley

I have also made a beautiful salad dressing for a mega bowl of greens just by blending a couple of peeled blood oranges.

So long to blood oranges though - seems the season is on its way out
