31  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Whats your life purpose??.... on: Sunday 18 May, 2008
What a gorgeous thread!!!!

I always take a really 'big picture' stance on this one. I believe, quite simply, that our life purpose is always to return to God/ascend/become enlightened........ or whatever your personal choice of language is for this process.

Personally speaking, I am very drawn to this simple mission, partly because I can remember aspects of past lives of mine in ancient mystery schools......so the whole esoteric priesthood thing is very much alive in my DNA :-)

Obviously (IMHO), the main specific challenges, situations, 'lessons' and 'tests' are thus pre-determined before each incarnation.

I am very clear on my own specific tests and lessons for this lifetime; I am also very clear on what I want my life to look like in manifest form. But the hurdles, the lessons and the tests are oh so very difficult sometimes!!!

PS Just a small aside....

I was wrapped devotedly around the neck of one of my horses today, smelling his divine scent, stroking his fluffy teddy-bear coat and lamenting to a friend that I couldn't take him home to bed with me to snuggle up to. My friend said

"That's what dogs were invented for".

Awwwwww. SO cute! :-)

Hi Raw Sensation and Jungle, thanks heaps for your responses :-)

Jen - I hadn't heard of that book before so thanks for the tip; I'll check it out. That's so cool that Bella loves a green smoothie, as well as nuts and avo. Avocado isn't good for horses; it's good to know that Bella enjoys it.

Hey Jungle - you are a sweetie! Thanks for the happy vegan dogs stories; they are great to hear! :-)

I had the honour and pleasure of listening to biologist/zoologist Professor Marc Bekoff speak recently at Sydney Uni vet school. What an incredible man!!! If you truly love animals, I so highly recommend reading some of his books:  http://literati.net/Bekoff/  His writing is so beautiful I always cry. He is a deeply spiritual man who so clearly understands the interrelation between mankind, animals, the planet and spirituality.....soooo on my wavelength!!! :-) He did briefly touched on the topic of vegan dogs and cats, having been exposed to them for 30 odd years....so I know it's not unusual to have healthy and happy vegan pets but it's great to hear first hand (or second hand) experiences fron lovely Raw Pleasure people!

If anyone else can contribute similar stories , I'd love to hear them.  yahh

Much love

Lovespirit xx

Oh wow, thanks, I will have a look at them.
35  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Raw Pets / Vegetarian/vegan/raw vegan dog food on: Friday 16 May, 2008
Hi everyone

I'm thinking about getting a dog and am therefore researching my options on suitable dog food. I'd love to hear from anyone that has a vegetarian/vegan/raw vegan dog and what you feed him/her, how the transition phase was etc!

I've sped read all previous posts about doggie diets on this forum and there's plenty there on raw food but not so much on vego/vegan dogs, hence this post.

I feel very strongly about NOT FEEDING FLESH (meat or fish) to my dog so please bear that in mind and be respectful of such. I'm happy to use free-range eggs if deemed appropriate but would prefer not to use dairy for both health and ethical reasons.

Veganpet food sounds good and I'd love to hear of any personal feedback about it. Also there are other vegan products on this link that sound good....

....again, I'd love to hear of anyone's personal experience on using them.

And Freedom, if you're around - I'm always happy to enjoy your great wisdom on such matters! :-)

Thanks everyone and I hope you're all having a healthy happy and raw day with much love around you.

36  FAQ - Check Here for the most common Answers! / Raw Food FAQ / Re: Can spinach be eaten raw? on: Thursday 08 May, 2008
Hi EVe

It's a Breville juice fountain that I bought about 3 years ago. From what I've read it's very good quality for its class which is not really for hard core raw foodists but pretty decent as a general family juicer.

It's very quick but you do have to get the pulp out at times if you're making a lot of juice. I don't think it splits the cellulose walls in greens so if I were to buy a new one now I'd go straight to a Green Star for optimum nutrition.

Hi Venus

I'm thoroughly enjoying super-nutrition through juice-feasting to start my day! Typically I will juice a HUGE bunch of that large-leafed spinach (stems and leaves) with a head of celery, a kilo of carrots, a cucumber and whatever else takes my fancy that day. This will give me 2-3 litres of juice.

I can truthfully say that the quickest and most dramatic positive changes in face/skin/body occurred after I started juicing like this (about 3 months into biegn raw)

So it's absolutely YES to the spinach from me. My body loves the stuff!!! :-)
38  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: the 811er question: on: Thursday 08 May, 2008
PS

Ivan - how do you feel this 811 diet has affected you spiritually? I'm  quite affected by food spiritually and because I am so sensitive energeticaly I have to be careful with my diet in my line of work. With your extreme sensitivity energetically I'd love to how how it's affected your spiritual developemnt (compared to a non-811 but still raw diet) and if you have problems feeling grounded sometimes???

Thanks hun! :-)

Hi Arwen

Great post!

I've never read the whole 811 book but I understand enough about it to know that right now it wouldn't suit me too well, simply because my body doesn't enjoy too much fruit. I get quite bloated (even on mono) and feel very high and ungrounded from the sugar rush. I'm much happier with more greens and root veggies and more fat than is recommended on 811 too.

I'm not knocking the diet, I'm just saying that there are many individual and even environmental factors that may come into play. I think all the points you made are very valid!

Hi Ivan

I do love your posts!!! Funnily enough, I barely read them though sometimes......I just skim over the surface collecting the energy in them.....and I just let out a big sigh of release after doing so. Thank you. Simply gorgeous!!!

Don't forget to contact me when you next come to Sydney so we can go camping in heaven and hang out with my horses :-)

I love your precious Light - sweet soul that he is. :-)

You are so welcome Angefish :-)

I know it really helps me to focus on what I LOVE to eat and the fact that I can eat as much of it as I want when I want...as opposed to having a 'deprivation' mentality of what I can't or shouldn't eat.

I am mad for cherries in summer and it's so gorgeous to buy a huge bag of them and munch on them slowly. If I'm outside with my horses I'll see how far I can spit the pips, just for fun. I tend not to do this inside though ;-)

I hope you had a beautiful day with some raw yumminess in there somewhere. :-)

Much love

Californiaglee - re your comment:

"So, the advice by Love Spirit to put a positive spin to it definitely helps, but it may also seem like unwelcomed advice or even criticism when we are not in the place to see it yet. "

For the record, I was not at all being ‘critical’ nor was I putting a ‘positive spin’ on anything. It is also hardly 'unwelcomed advice' seeing as these public posts are usually specifcally for the purpose of eliciting advice, comments and feedback.

I am a psychologist, a hypnotherapist and a master NLP practitioner. All of those fields will tell you that the language you use creates your reality. You can also look at any of the Abraham-Hicks Law of Attraction books and they will say exactly the same thing. My post was perfectly valid and I made it abundantly clear that I was coming from love and support in my post to Angefish.

It is interesting that you commented that you felt judged in this fourm in the past. Yet you are so judgemental and dismissive of another forum member's highly qualified, supportive and loving comments to another forum member.

Food for thought. And I sincerely wish you well on your raw journey.

44  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Anyone still on a raw challenge, and will you support me? on: Friday 25 April, 2008
Hi Angefish

I think I can help...and maybe not in the way you expected. I noticed that your post was littered with fearful and intimidating language, using words such as "sensible", "severely", "weakness", "as much as I can stand", "scare", "abuse", "terrify". You are setting yourself up for failure by literally terrifying  yourself into oblivion with the whole thing. Our body-minds are totally connected. A perfect raw food diet is rather meaningless without the associated loving mental/emotional state.

Do yourself a BIG favour and look at every single thing you do that's raw as an ACT OF LOVE for yourself. ENJOY and saviour every raw taste and experience. Focus on what you are achieving, not your perceptions of what you think you are not achieving. This is all Law of Attraction stuff.

It is true that a very small handlful of people have managed to go 100% raw from day 1. But this is a TINY percentage of raw foodists and it's probably not the best path for most people, including almost everyone on this site.

The bottom line is to be KIND to yourself and to ENJOY the journey. I think this is your true challenge in life. Don't use the raw journey as another excuse to be cruel to yourself.

With much love
