yeah, big tomatoes make more scence, im thinking the little ones might make for good movie snacks if a did a bunch. What the heck will i do with the discarded flesh though, too good to throw out!

yellow tomatoes are so purty in salads.

i call it..peasto

its pesto made of fresh peas! & boy oh boy is it good, i jazzed mine up last night with a little lemon zest & wizzed it up with olive oil, cashews & a little rocket. only thing is it needs a little salt to get it all tasty.

right now its being devoured on some italian herb & garlic kitz crackers. yahh

thanks heaps Kylie!

pitty about asparagus taking so long, i really adore the stuff but i don't think i could bother waiting 2 years for it. (i've already spent 2 years waiting for my man!)

I think it would be a good idea to still grow all my herbs & that sort of things in pots on the balcony (my new balcony is bigger than the garden!) & i might even look at keeping some citrus trees in pots too, i think they can be quite ornimental.

This year our veggies are doing sooo much better thanks to using a "leaky hose" - you get them from Bunnings, they're black hoses and they weep. They're water efficient and very effective. Highly recommended.

We have lots of greens - cos lettuce, kale, weeds Smiley , cuc's, peas, tomatoes, zucchini, squash and herbs (but our garden is quite big) but mainly greens
im in qld, water restrictions..im only allowed to use a watering can i think.

im only guessing but i think i would have about 5msq usable garden bed. Theres a raised narrow garden bed running down the side on the house that looks like it would have great drainage.

im such a goose..i totally forgot my dad used to be a horticulturist by trade (before he became a stay at home daddy) I guess he should be able to show me how to get the most out of my limited space?

strawberries would be so good, the little wild strawberries though. I think strawberries need quite a bit of room?

i guess i should start a compost bin too right?

Kitteh- how frustrating is it trying to grow stuff in pots? i live on the 2nd floor in a walk up building & dragging potting mix up the stairs is no easy feat. Even more diffucult is keeping it off the cream coloured carpert inside my unit. (thank god our new place has tiles)

i would also like to add that i work about 40 hours a week so i don't have a lot of time to work on said garden. Id really like some tomatoes & peas though.

im moving into our very own place with my boyfriend of 2 years in july (finally) ohyeah so i can finally have a garden! its just a small courtyard.

Any ideas on what grows best in small spaces. I'd love to hear about everyone else's gardens, i have a few potted herbs & lettuces & that sort of thing outside but ive never had a real garden of my own.

13  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: raw butter on: Wednesday 30 January, 2008
many thanks missgiggles.
where does one buy raw butter I'ver seen it for sale in our country region ?
it's illeagal for Australian retailers to sell raw dairy as a food product. You usually have to know a farmer to get it.
14  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / raw sunscreen? on: Monday 21 January, 2008
is there anything i can use from mother earth as sunscreen? I don't usually go in the sun a whole lot but i was playing tennis on the weekend & i am as red as a capsicum (stick me in the spiraliser im ripe!*lolz @ my little raw joke*)

ive never had to worry about my face because i use mineral makeup which has its own sunscreen, is there somethign i can use other than the old banana boat? shrug
15  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / Re: skin stuff on: Monday 21 January, 2008
Hi, i havent seen this first hand but my very clever old boss from when i worked in an organic store used to tell me whenever her husband got a wart she would make a compress from the peel of an organic banana & papaya & bandage that over the wart & after a few weeks it would fall off! (obviously she changed the skins every day.)

I would love to find out if it works, most of the advise she gave me over the years re:home remedies turned out to be very true. Including raw milk & butter for ezema.
