Yeah I'm in for sure.
I'm gonna put on at least 3 kg's of lean mass, via proper eating and the proper application of my gym work outs.
Also I am gonna increase my flexibility by sticking like glue to my four day a week stretching regimen.
A photo is a great idea. I have been meaning to do a before and after ever since I started at the gym in Feb, but alas I am quite computer illiterate so I don't think a photo will be forthcoming onto this forum.
Well, I'm off to the gym ladies and gents.

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: What Books are you Currently Reading?

I am reading Heavy Duty 2: Mind and Body by Mike Mentzer. It's a body building book, but there is a lot of philosophy in there. It's quite a good read, but some of the philosophy is totally unrelated to bodybuilding. I think Mike just wanted to voice his opinion, and because he was Mr Universe, I guess the only books of his people would be reading are bodybuilding. I am also reading The Mad Ship by Robin Hobb. It's a little hard to get into, but I love fantasy books, so I still going.

I have noticed really odd ingredients in food aswell Jocelyn.
I can't remember any examples, but I know that when I look around for food when I'm shopping, some things which I would have thought are vegan friendly aren't, much to my chagrine.
In particular eggs, and whey protein appear in so many things that I'm sure don't need them. I reckon it's the economic beast ensuring that the wheels keep turning by keeping people believing that these foods need these extra additives, and therefore ensuring that people keeping buying them.
Thats a bit conspiracy theorist, I know, but it fits.

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: What's your interpretation of "Fruitarianism"?

labelling is for canned food.
I must admit in high school I heard a girl was a vegan, and I was very derisive of the idea, and had no clue what it was about, and look at me now!!
fruitarian is awesome, fruit is my favourite food in the whole world even though I still eat cooked food, nothing to me is as tempting as a fresh plum, or some juicy rockmelon or beautiful dates...ohh (drool).
just eat what you feel like and enjoy it.

Hia. Tara & I are from perth.
I'm definately interested in some top secret Perth mission. I am a vegan, but eat a lot of raw food, and am going to keep increasing my intake.
Joce I have a friend who is about 35ish who is raw. I'm not sure if he knows about this website, but I'm going to try to convince him to come to the picnic. Heres hoping.
I look forward to the culmination of this Perth project.
Tara & Tom.

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Organic Food in Perth
|
on: Thursday 11 May, 2006

Hi everyone.
Just wondering where my fellow perthians get their organic F&V from.
I know there's a couple of "health food" stores that sell at a pretty high price, but I only know of the two stalls down at the Freo markets, and Mimsbrook farm.
I would really appreciate some feed back as I'm sure there must be a way to get my organic F&V wholesale due to the quantity purchased, I just haven't looked into it yet. But if someone else already has then the info would be awesome.
Thanks alot people.

I must admit people that you have shown me a new light on personal trainers, and people pushing the animal protein diet.
I've got a mate who is a PT and he believes that he will eventually become fruitarian, which is great news. But for now he still eats the meat and dairy that is generally accepted as "healthy".
In regards to actual fitness training I'm not really sure I agree with the PT view of volume and frequency, as this tends to lead to over training, and poor results compared to how one should progress.
I just started a new training regimen yesterday, following reading Mike Mentzers "Heavy Duty 2: Mind and Body". Anybody heard of or have an opinion about Mike? His work is somewhat similar to that of Charlie Abel. Except Charlie is awesome and raw, and Mentzer is dead at 49 of a heart attack, apparently.
Cheers folks.

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Sapoty

I tried a black sapoty yesterday, and I've brought some for my luch today as well.
Quite a unique fruit I reckon. A bit sickening if too much is eaten, but I've got half a rockmelon, and half a honeydew melon, and some banana in with it to break it up. Should be a tasty lunch.
Has anyone tried a white sapoty (sapote, whatever), and is it similar except with a white chocolate hint?

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Yoga neck stretch. Painful.
|
on: Tuesday 18 April, 2006
|
|
Hi all, I borrowed a book off my friend a while ago, and it has a neck stretch in it which is painful, but in a stretching kind of way. The problem is I then have a sore neck for days after, the same as if I had over stretched a hamstring for example.
Does anyone know of this stretch or know if overstretching a muscle is good or bad?
The stretch involves making a bridge with ones back, but instead of using ones hands for support, first the top of ones head is used, then this rolls under, and the forehead is used.
As I said quite painful, but there don't seem to be any other stretches that target that part of the body, so I will probably continue with a less full on approach to this stretch.
Totally unrelated, but I'm starting Tae Kwon Do again tonight after an absence of 5 months, its gonna be unreal. I can't wait for it. YAAH!
Ok, catcha.

Hey Blue Nelly, Ive got a Stumpy Tailed Blue Heeler x Kelpie. My partner and I weren't sure if there really was such a breed, cos our dog Drive loks like a Staffy. His stump is so funny when he tries to wag it as his whole bum wobbles. Haha my lady loves it.
Hope Belle brings you much happiness.
