1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: Share Your Nightly Dream So Others Can Tell you What They Think It Means on: Thursday 26 June, 2008
I dream a lot and always have.  I think sometimes I try to over analyse them too.  Flying dreams can mean you are astral traveling or having an out of body experiencing but this does not mean it's always the reason.  I do remember one time going to sleep with my children both in my arms and as I began dreaming looked down on myself and the children in that exact position.  That particular dream was quite epic and I had to have my parents knocking at my bedroom door (in my dream) to bring me back and wake me up.  Though not upsetting it was rather adventurous and I was awake hours afterwards.  So sometimes I go to sleep and actually wake up feeling exhausted from my nights adventures.  I used to have a re-occuring dream as a child; a nightmare of sorts.  And the dream itself was repetitive in nature.  It would have me running through the woods, the big bad wolf chasing me.  I would be fearing for my life when finally I would see a fort off in the distance and I would have a sense of relief and safety.  As I climbed up the fort the wolf would be waiting for me there and gobble me up.  As he did I would have this realisation that "Phew everything will be ok" and then I would be running through the woods again, the big bad wolf chasing me and the same thing would occur.  Recently I've had three seperate dreams with rattle snakes in them.  One of them was quite epic with a total of five different animals in different situations and my emotions ranging from fear to protection.
There are other times and I'm not sure if I'm dreaming i'm awake and then immediately wake up after wards but I will feel like I wake up and see for example a balloon floating in my lounge room and as I become more awake realise it's not there at all.  Sometimes I even smell or feel things.  I don't think i'm a huge sleep talker though my partner Phill another huge dreamer is and I can actually be lying awake listening to him talking and if i respond we'll end up in a conversation.
Two of my dreams in the past few days have featured Mr Depp and I have to say bring those dreams on please in preference to my others.  Last night he was giving me his msn email to keep in touch with me lol.  Must of had something to do with seeing Edwards Scissorhands the dance production on Friday night Smiley
2  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: Skin Brushing..............What can you tell me about it? on: Thursday 26 June, 2008
Hello all you bodybrushers,
Just to confirm some stuff written already with what i know, body brushing is best done with a brush such as a Bernard Jensen.  I found mine at a health shop and another at an essential oils shop called "perfect potion" here in Brissie.  I'm not sure if Perfect Potion is outside of qld??  i have the typical body brush but I also picked up a smaller hand held one designed for brushing the face and is gentler.  It is best to be brushing dry as it's more invigorating and increases the health benefits as already mentioned.  It's best to begin gentler initially and I found that it didn't take myself all that long for my skin to become used to it and increased the pressure.  Of course we're all different and you'll be able to work this out for yourself with how much pressure you need to apply in the process.  I always brush with strokes up towards the heart beginning at my feet.  I had not heard about the circular motions previously but I do know that with what I do I always end up with my skin having a zing and feeling great.

Hello All,

I haven't been on here for a little while.  So much has happened in my personal life including a relationship break up and the beginning of a new one with an incredible man.  And a lot of other things too which i'm not gonna go into right now.  I'm back to visiting the psych on Monday (finally pulled my finger out and doing it!) to help me deal with things and let me go blahhhhhhhhhh and maybe have a good cry....i really need one of those.  Not been eating so well or very little with the stress of everything but making a commitment to do this again.  So i'm back on board to get my life back on track.
First things I want to achieve is to love myself, feel grounded and connected.

Love,

Lou

I agree with MissGiggles that we're all different and we've got to go with what works for us.  I think people (generally) on raw prefer high fruit to the greens because it's more appealing to eat.  This doesn't mean it's best for each individual.  For me it is extremely important that I have a low gi diet and eat more greens so I remain grounded.  Interestingly enough I've had a sugar addiction which I definitely do not benefit from....head in the clouds etc.  I believe that if you feel better from eating the greens in the morning then why not keep that up and incorporate the fruit later on in the day.

Hello all,
In my last post i was in a horrible place.  I've had a really full on week with feeling incredibly bad.  Feeling better (thank god) at the moment.  The last three days i've been green smoothie-ing it up.  And eating low gi fruit only.  BUT i've really got to address my issues otherwise this baby is only going to be stuck in this place.  My thought patterns need to change, I need to begin appreciating/loving myself and life.  My personal life has not been the easiest either so I need to address that.  Change can be frightening and resistance very tempting.  Anyhow on holidays now for a week so time to go through some emotional baggage I feel.  I really don't think I could do this without eating raw...it just amazes me the sensitivity I have to eating food that doesn't nourish my body, mind and spirit.

life not so crash hot at the moment.   i've had some high points but mostly feeling horrible.  i'm scheduling app with the psych again today.  i think perhaps i have more than just an anxiety disorder and that really sux....bit afraid of diagnosis really. i haven't stuck to a raw diet properly but i do think it helps when i'm on it.  for eg feeling like crap yesterday... hadn't eaten anything but forced myself (putting anything into my mouth was difficult...no appetite) to have a green smoothie.  by the time i finished that (slowly sipped on it for 1 or 2 hrs maybe) beginning to feel a bit better.  made myself another smoothie to keep me going.  half way through that one had a small bit of pasta and donut.  however feeling much better by this stage and for the rest of the day really.  had fajitas for dinner and woke up feeling crap again.  begun the green smoothie again today....and I just feel (my body tells me too) i must stick to this to get better.  I worked on my art yesterday....and so proud of myself for what i achieved.  I should stick a pic of my work up here when i get the scanner working.

Hello Love Spirit,
I like my green smoothies more tangy with a hint of sweetness.  I often add rasberries or lemon juice to get the tangy  but thanks for the agave tip as I could replace that with the apples I put in to get the sweetness.  Would agave affect me like fruit sugars though???  Is it more concentrated, or is it because there's less agave that would go in than fruit that it would be less affecting?Huh? Questions, questions!!!

Rita,
How could I leave you out of my last post?  Your post was thoughtful and sharing of your own experiences and I just wanted to say thank you.  I believe it's possible to overcome this pattern of thinking which applies limitations on living life to it's fullest.  I've been onto anxiety forums etc but found those places filled with people who seemed to have given up on hope of living life without this debilitating disorder and all that comes with it.  I simply refuse to believe this is the way my life is always meant to be.  Instead I'll just learn from it as I move into a new era of my life.  If anything it just magnifies how important my goals are to me and how much I need to achieve those in my life.
Have a beautiful weekend Rita,

A sweet good morning to all  yahh

It's raining here and the house is still nice and dark.  I love these mornings but sometimes it's a bit difficult to get going in the morning....I must not waste today, no sireee.

Anyhow I've slipped up more than I care to mention.  Still on the green smoothies.  I just love the idea that you can put so much nutrition into one of those and that's very important to me to keep it up.  To me high raw is the only way to go.  One of the difficult things for me to deal with is sugar.  I've seen two seperate iridologists in the past and they both advised that I eat foods with only low levels of sugar...including low sugar fruits.  I feel personally sugar sends my head into the clouds, feeds anxiety etc. So I spose this means focusing more on the greens and nuts etc.  When you give up cooked foods it can seem difficult to give up all the sweet juicy fruits too.  Anyhow, I've paid for the incompatible foods I've eaten and not even enjoyed really, just something to fill the gob. So I need to put a new eating plan/menu in place which I'll think about today and write about tonight.

Mmmm just wanted to say that what I type here is only a small portion (but all important aspect) of who I am.  I'd really like to try and show the more "fun" side of me.  I love to laugh (who doesn't really) and have important goals in my life to achieve.  So i think i'd like to have some raw light-hearted fun......i'm thinking about what exactly but have a few ideas.....i'll keep you updated folks  afro

You can read a little more about blackle here fyi.....
ta,
lou

Blackle was created by Heap Media to remind us all of the need to take small steps in our everyday lives to save energy. Blackle searches are powered by Google Custom Search.

Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. "Image displayed is primarily a function of the user's color settings and desktop graphics, as well as the color and size of open application windows; a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen." Roberson et al, 2002

In January 2007 a blog post titled Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year proposed the theory that a black version of the Google search engine would save a fair bit of energy due to the popularity of the search engine. Since then there has been skepticism about the significance of the energy savings that can be achieved and the cost in terms of readability of black web pages.

We believe that there is value in the concept because even if the energy savings are small, they all add up. Secondly we feel that seeing Blackle every time we load our web browser reminds us that we need to keep taking small steps to save energy.
How can you help?

We encourage you to set Blackle as your home page. This way every time you load your Internet browser you will save a little bit of energy. Remember every bit counts! You will also be reminded about the need to save energy each time you see the Blackle page load.

Help us spread the word about Blackle by telling your friends and family to set it as their home page. If you have a blog then give us a mention. Or put the following text in your email signature: "Blackle.com - Saving energy one search at a time".

Have a look at our energy saving tips page for ideas on steps you can take to save energy.

There are a lot of great web sites about saving energy and being more environmentally friendly. They are full of great tips covering the little things that we can all do to make a difference today. Try Blackling "energy saving tips" or visit treehugger.com a great blog dedicated to environmental awareness.
